I love how everyone is saying Marvel shouldnt make one cause the Lucas movie was bad... and nobody seems to remember or know that Captain America had a really damn bad movie way way back in the day and then we got Captain America: The First Avenger. Remember everyone, with movies the past doesnt always dictate the present or the future.

The cameo of Howard the Duck was literally my favorite part in Guardians of the Galaxy (which I found to be otherwise fairly boring and typical). And it a big chunk of why a friend told me to go see it. In other words, I love the Howard the Duck movie. As a really young kid (prior to starting school), I watched three movies: Howard the Duck, Return of the Living Dead and Predator. And I still deeply love the first two.

I've re-watched it recently and still love it, but it is goofy and bad. I happen to really enjoy functional bad movies (not Troll 2 levels of bad though). And I would re-watch Howard the Duck before I'd re-watch Guardians of the Galaxy.

Heh, I thought today episode would of been a tribute to Robin Willaims or something like that.

Anyway, I remember watching the last part to that film and needless to say, I have no intention of watching the whole film!

I don't much care for this movie. I thought it was...erm...not stupid but not entertaining. Somewhere in the middle. Inconsistent, maybe?

Damn it, Bob. Do you really hate your audience enough to tell us to watch Howard the Duck?

What did we do to deserve that?

So this episode dredged up some half forgotten memory of mine that I need help with. I remember a weird sci-fi movie from when I was a kid that had a magic glowing purse, and a big finale at some sort of giant sattelite dish. Can anyone help me out?

Oh yea, its all coming back to me now. No wonder why I only ever watched it once. Even as a kid watching Hell Raiser movies Freddy Kruger, Jason slashers and Halloween movies I knew this confusing for even me. On that note I really hope marvel dose try and remake it or at the very least cameo Howard in more often, I loved those comics as a kid and it would be a stupendous challenge for them and really show what Marvel is capable of.

So... does this mean Howard the Duck's going to get his own film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
James Gunn has said that Marvel has no plans for that currently, he's going to be more of a walk through cameo in Marvel movies... at best.

I say this with complete and utter sincerity...

... I hope Squirrel Girl shows up in one of these movies. That would put the biggest smile on my face.

I always thought the movie was so tonally inconsistent because that was the way the comics were. I never read them, so I still don't know if that's true. Even if it is, it's still not an excuse to make the same mistakes as the source material and crank it up to 11.

Was that bestiality? And anyway I thought the reason that was taboo to begin with was because animals can't consent. Howard isn't even an animal, he's an alien. When it comes to aliens I find this philosophy works best: If you can share a drink with it in a bar, it's ethically boneable.

I mean, am I wrong? It seems like arguing against my above point would be harder then defending it.

The whole "Monday morning quarterbacking thing," while I agree with it, is prevalent in more than just the film industry. It is an aspect of every facet of human behavior, IMO. No real reason to only blame Hollywood, but pretty much the entire entertainment industry, HAHA!

No, Bob, we didn't really. What we DID say is that you apparently don't know about Nostalgia Critic.

I don't think Howard should get his own rebooted movie in the MCU, but I do think he could get a really interesting team up movie alongside known allies like Man-Thing and She-Hulk.

I will admit though, since I just found out that Guardians of the Galaxy Howard was played by Seth Green, I'm pretty psyched to know Green is now part of the MCU and I would really like to see him again. Maybe give him a bigger part in Guardians 2, maybe that thing I already said, but I just dunno if they should do a solo film for the foul mouthed fowl (not saying they couldn't, given what Marvel Studios has pulled off I wouldn't be surprised if it was amazing, I just think he'd work better with a team)

You and me both (you and I both? No, Me is right...right?)

I know it would be the biggest cop-out ever and so many non-comic fans might get confused and angry, but I'm REALLY hoping Avengers 3 (or whichever Avengers they actually fight fully powered Thanos in) just ends with Squirrel Girl showing up and defeating him off screen.

It would be amazing...

Either do that, or do the comics thing where Thanos' weakness is a subconscious desire to lose so he "accidentally" drops the infinity gauntlet at the most crucial moment...

This one's a weird one. In general, the way to tell whether it should be me or I is to finish the sentence: You and I both hope Squirrel Girl shows up. However, me is correct in enough other cases("That scared me." "You and me both."), that "you and me both" has in practice been adopted idiomatically, and is what most native speakers would say.

Don't care. Love Howard the Duck. Sometimes, you can over analyze somethings. Not just talking about Bob here, but in broad terms. Not everything needs to be nitpicked. The movie is different, memorable and unique. Compared to what's been laid out in this era of movies, that's a winner. Personally, I would rather watch Howard than another bad remake of a classic movie or a series of films where Michael Bay destroys my childhood.
