I didn't get to play a handheld Pokemon game until I was 10 despite being a massive Pokemon fan, the Christmas I got both Ruby and Sapphire was the best in my young life :D
I had my first Nintendo handheld at 18 (a jailbroken iPod touch) and I bought myself a DSi this year. Now I play Pokemon anytime I want. I won't grow up

My dad had a playstation, but no memory card. I had to play everything from the beginning every time.

Plus, I was only allowed an hour at a time. I've played level 1-1 of Blasto so many times...
I was right there with you, man. Played up to escaping the Mako Reactor in FFVII every morning before school for three months straight before I finally got a memory card for my birthday. Three months of replaying the same 20 minute section.

It's like being in QA.

Oops... the light keeps blinking... take out the cartridge... blow on it... *fwooooo* ...put it back in... turn it back on... light's still blinking... take it out again... blow on it harder... *FWOOOOOO!!!* ...oops, got some spittle in there... panic...

That and those gold cartridges, my father would go on and on: "When you turn this game off, you have to hold in the reset button and THEN push the power button."

Also! Clash at Demonhead. I didn't get a lot of time each day to play. I got my NES to stay on for three days straight before it froze up. I had just defeated that guy in the floating base too...

When I was about 12, I had this GBA game based on the Hamtaro anime called Ham-Ham Heartbreak, which I recall actually being a rather decent little adventure game if my 12-year-old self had any taste at all. Besides Pokemon, it was pretty much one of my favourite games at the time save for one bit; the stupid dance contest minigame. I never figured out how to beat the final stage of it, meaning I never managed to get to 100% completion in that game, and it still bothers me to this day.

That slime thing in Toy Story 2 on PS2.

Seriously, I could never beat him. Ever.
I just don't get people's problem with that boss! I keep hearing people saying they were scared of him! I loved fighting that boss! He was so cool! And the music there was my favorite track in the whole game! I called this dude "Professor Hopping Trash"!

Anyway... Frogger (1997). Lava Crush. You'll know what I mean. It had my favorite music in the game, but DANG! That green frogglet is just unfair!

I remember playing the Buzz Lightyear of Star Command Action Game (so many times). A few problems... One, none of the bosses ever had a blue shield for me to take out with the rocket launcher (except XL, who was in a level without rocket launchers, as far as I know). Two, for my first several attempts into the game, I never noticed the same feature, and I'm pretty sure it didn't autosave. I don't think I made it past the 5th level until I found it. Oh, and three... I was a naive child. So, when I was playing this game (Level 11, I still remember exactly where I thought this, fighting a grunt like the boss of the first level), I thought that I'd never be able to come up with anything good, because the creators of the Buzz Lightyear series came up with all the ideas!

Oh, and Break-Out gave out numbers, instead of the actual keys, when it told you how to play. Best example: "Hold '1' to run." You're actually supposed to hold "Return". (This game came out in 2000, so I'm pretty sure there were keyboards that had "Return" buttons, rather than "Enter" keys.

Sharing games with the siblings.
There are 4 of us, so almost all of the games we had had to be up to 4 players, or the parents wouldn't buy them since we'd fuss about turns. I always preferred playing solo.
This is my adventure. Go find your own.

No, NO! You can NOT resurrect Aeris/Aerith if you do a bunch of impossible shit, friend who frequently makes up bullshit to make himself look cool. We really need to stop trusting you on this stuff. Now, what's that you were saying about Pikablu?
