Slept on the floor* for a year because I had a poky student room that could only fit a bed or a computer in...

I gave up my PS2 and Cube and a bunch of games for a 360.
Wait does this count? I mean, you sacrificed gaming for gaming....I think we found a loophole in the thread.

Dont think you did really, more that you couldn't handle taking him yourself, I'm sure you would have if you'd been the only one that could, I was the same, I felt like I should, he was 'my' dog, but I was fairly young still, and my parents stepped in and took him.

I can't remember what I did while he was there, but I can understand trying to involve my mind in a game to block out the thoughts...damn this is a downer of a topic.

I'm not sure if this will count, but I put all $700 inherited from my dead Grandma, a full paycheck, and some extra cash from my parents into building an excellent gaming pc.

Also, I have to mention my prom night because everyone else brought it up. I didn't go my Junior year. Instead, I had a gaming party over at my house with five close friends. I called it the anti-prom and it was badass.

I decided to go to my Senior prom because I figured that I'd regret not going in like 50 years or something. I wore a tuxedo t-shirt, and a suit jacket borrowed from my dad over it (because there was a dress code of sorts) jeans, a spike collar, and a pink cowboy hat. I drove my friend and his date, but his date got along much better with me because he's apparently scared of women. We stayed for about an hour, left because it sucked, and spent a few hours at a local console LAN center playing Halo 2 (yuck!). Still it was more fun than the prom, in mean no one was even dancing. What a load of crap!

Nothing. I may like gaming, but I appreciate the finer things in life even more. In fact, just recently I simply gave up LotRO partially because it was the source of many fights between myself and my girlfriend.

Although, when I think about it I'm sure I skipped a Christmas party or two to try out new games.

Meals, the ability to sleep properly (Now I have full blown insomnia), though that might just be 'cause I detest sleeping, and, in 10th grade, for about 4-5 months, I completely destroyed my ability to properly feel emotions. Not freaking joking. Now, instead of being emotionless, I'm just kind of emotionaly messed up. Unless I'm playing video games, any emotion I feel becomes anger. If I am playing games, then emotions are what they are.

I think your using games a scapegoat here, to mask the truth and avoid getting to the root of your problem.

I've skipped or given up too many things to list; so here's a few.

Skipped my Junior and Senior Prom.

I've ran my eyesight into the ground (I use to were 24 hour contacts but after having fallen asleep with them in time and time again I had deprived them of oxygen for far too long.)

I also have skipped out on making "normal" friends I guess lol, Everyone I'm friends with now are pretty much full fledged geeks. (I don't care but others seem to notice.)

Whoa...what's with the death and funerals and stuff :(

I give up the traditional stuff: food, sleep, work, "friends" (note: my closest friends seem to understand the way I am and rather just accept it...but also, the majority of the close few are gamers too...)

But I've done nothing to jeapardize important relationshps..(well, actually, I've had someone break up with me, but w/e, that doesn't count) nor academics or career recently.
