You owe it to yourself to pick up this fantastic Zelda inspired roguelike. For less than the price of a can of cola. It's less than most candy bars even. Seriously, even if you don't usually play this type of game you should get it while its for sale. You might really enjoy your time with the game if you give it a chance.

Personally, I've come to think of it as one of my favorite games of all time.

For certain. I've just surpassed 100 hours in it, and it's a shame that I've spent 20-30x as much money on games that I finished in 6-8 hours and never played again. Not quite Platinum God yet, but there's so much to work for that I'll probably put another 100 hours into it. I've found myself doing at least one run a day, and would put it up there in "favorite gamez evar".

Side note: Fans of the game would probably enjoy following/watching BoiLer (Binding of Isaac League Racing). Matches of 1 on 1 in a tournament format. These people kick ass at it:

If you don't want to watch the streamed matches, they're put on Youtube like the next day. I guess one is pretty much "into" a game when they follow shit like this for it too.

I was looking for this game a few weeks back but this falls right into my steam wallet, so great, free crazy game.

I already own it, but I am waiting patiently for the superior version that will be released soon.
What is this superior version may I ask?

The creator has said he wants to add more things to the game, but the current game is already pushing the limits of what Flash can handle and if he wants to add anything he will need to use something different. He's also said that he's tired of looking at the graphics and would like to redo that. I don't think there's anything more to it at this point in time other than rumors and some off hand comments from McMillen.

I bought this for 99 pence (about a buck fifty I believe), and it's expansion(!) for 49 pence.

I've now spent over 250 hours in the game and I still haven't unlocked everything.

And the new version is going to be called Rebirth, for anyone interested.

Also, if you're really into BoI already, I'd suggest watching a fellow by the name of Bisnap. Long ass game crashing runs, and plenty of interesting information. I've learned more from watching just about 10-15 of his videos, than I have in my 250+ hours of game time.

Definitely worth buying. It's so god damn cheap.

I think he's referring to "The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth". It will remove flash, add co-op, and rebalance some things.

It'll be out next year.

I suppose that is as cheap as it is going to get. Shame, for what kind of game it is, it still feels too expensive.
How the hell is 99 cents too expensive? Where the hell do you live that 99 cents registers as anything more than minor pocket change to you? It's like, 10 minutes work on minimum wage here in the UK (or 20 minutes scouring the streets for change). It's a small cheeseburger from McD's. It's half the price of a 20 minute bus ride. It's about 300ml of beer from your average pub.

I've not played it myself so i've no personal experience of how good it is, but compared to every other form of entertainment, hobby or past-time out there, for 99c i'm already on to a winner even if i only get a half hour entertainment out of it. It'd cost me more than 5 times this amount just to see a single 90 minute film at the cinema and STILL this is too expensive?

I bought it. I really wish I hadn't. It's been a while since I've seen a game be this pretentious and this immature at the same time. If I had known that it was produced by Team Meat, I wouldn't have even given it the time of the day.

I don't like rougelikes. That is why I feel it is too expensive for what it is. A game that is completely based on luck far more then skill.
Even so it still makes no sense to me. Is there really a lower price point it could reach where you might consider buying it? Just for the sake of saving that extra 40 cents or so on a game you know you probably aren't going to enjoy anyway since you don't like roguelikes? At $1 or less you're either gonna buy it or you ain't. Surely It's not a matter of how expensive it is at this point, just whether you want the game or not?

It's not. Most of the items that you get will give you different playthroughs, but I can attest to you that if you suck at the Binding of Issac, no amount of luck will save you.

Luck is very secondary to skill in this game and I've found it enjoyable because of it, but if you don't want to buy it then it's your choice.
