[HEADING=1]The Bright age[/HEADING]​



Back in the year 2040, there was a great war. This war was caused by the greed for technology. After the year 2010, technology started advancing rapidly. This war lasted ten years. It was ten years of chaos, death and destruction. The war was not between countries or continents, but between factions. There were six factions in all, all fighting against each other. There were no allies in this war,only enemies. The factions of the war were all different. They all had their own seperate fighting style. The war killed milions, until eventually after 8 years the death rate was too high. The factions stopped the national fighting, but kept to more local fighting in the streets. The death rate went down, but not by much. The government were becoming increasingly worried about this fact. The end of the war was supposed to stop deaths. After a few months, the death rate returned to it's original figure when the nationaly war was on. The governments together, decided to take outcasts from each faction and for a special task force to take down the factions. This led to another 2 years of war. ventuaslly, the task force wiped out the factions. But in this, the task force rebeled against the government. The task force became their own faction and became 'the outcasts'. These were by far the most fierce of all the factions. They had more weaponry than all of the factions put together and their techonolgy was amazing. The governments were furiouse. All of the world leader had a meeting to decide what to do. They decided to horde the factions into a country with a fake technology pile and nuke that country. It was a heavy sacrafice, but it had to be done. Any left overs would become small petty gangs. The rumors spread of the tech pile, which was supposed to be in Japan. Most of the members of each faction horded together and had an al out war over the vault which was supposed to hold the tech. During the war outside the vault, the atomic bomb was dropped and Japan was no more. The survivors of the factions who thought were killed by radiation and the people who weren't at the fight were arrested or killed. The gangs were no more. The leaders had another meeting to discuss a very important matter. Once the meeting had finished, the decision had been made. They would slow down scientific research to snails pace and replace it with medical research, to prevent the population from getting any lower. Most weaponry from the war was scraped and there was nothing that could be used for major violence. The time that came after this was perfect. There was finally a perfect age. The people of the world decided to name this time, 'the bright age.'

It's now year 2060. It's been ten year since the world became 'perfect'. Everything from the war has been repaired, there is no crime (Except for petty street crimes such as drunken fights and low scale robbery), there is no illness. All of this, because of the single decision to focus research on a different topic. But nothing can be perfect can it? No, that would be rediculous. Something always has to spoil the perfection. In this case, it was something very seriouse, that killed more than the great war. There was a cure for all diseases produced. It was simply called the wonder cure. It was the breakthrough to every problem Earth had ever experienced. Until the side effects were discovered. The people who used this cure, became beasts. Red eyes, pale, flakey skin, their hair started falling out and they lost most inteligence, except for the basics, such as movement, climbing, and the seven senses. This caused the death rate to rocket above the death rates during the war. The beasts that the humans had become were rampaging and killing anyone who they saw. Some of these creatures were fast, some slow, some skinny, some fat, some weak and some strong. There were many different varieties. At first, the beasts were controllable and were contained in small quarantine areas. This was fine, until they discovered that the diseas could be spread. When the beasts wanted to spread their 'gift', they would tear a hole in the victim and produce a grren, inky fluid in the palm of their hands. This was transfered into the hole and the new beast was born. The beasts numbers shot up and became uncontrollable. This was happening all around the world. The only safe haven was Japan, due to the fact that the area was desolate and ruined. No one was lucky enough to reach Japan, but that was everyone?s goal. Everyone hoped that they would be able to find a ruin to use as shelter and use a boat to transfer food. These were the idiots of course. The real fighters wanted to find a cure for the bacteria in the wonder cure that had cause the problem. The survivors have been taking up old scraps of 2010 technology and customising their own weapons, but nothing too fancy. The most achievable would probably be something equivalent to an AK-47. The survivors are all strong, but have their flaws. This is survival for the fittest and death is a constant worry.

To make things even worse, another group has joined the fight. But this group doesn't want survival, they want to save the beasts. They believe that the beasts will lead them into a new world. This group is mainly full of Crazies, but is still a large threat. Even the remnants of the original factions are cautiouse of this group.

The vipers-they mainly used weapons that killed the enemy slowly, such as blunt melee weapons and weapons loaded with poison.
The Cowboys-these soldiers were mainly using weapons from 2010 and didn't believe in modern weaponry.
The Rhino's- These soldiers were charged on brute force, mainly using powerful weaponry.
The Cheetah's-These soldiers used weak weapons, but were extremely sneaky. Only the most perceptive could catch these guys out.
The Canines-These soldiers are extremely tactical. They always have the best tactics, but aren?t particularly strong.
The Simians- These soldiers are very stupid. They have terrible tactics and rely only on melee weapons. Despite this, they are still very strong.
The outcasts- These are definitely the strongest of the factions, with the most advanced weaponry. They have the lowest numbers however.
The Diablo's- This group consists mainly of crazies, but is still a large threat. They have no tactics, but rely on making the victim vulnerable and then attacking.

Firstly, welcome. I was thinking about a new RP a lot lately and I came up with this. This RP will be a serious RP, but will have time for humour and..you know me too well...relationships! This will help flesh out characters and make the RP more emotional. And remember, death is very much possible in this RP. This RP will be set in London to begin with, but the setting will probably change as the RP goes along.

I will be accepting about 6-7 people.

Although I'm too busy to currently join this roleplay, I just wanted to make a point that despite the detail you've put into the bold text in the OP it's quite difficult to work out what the characters in this RP are actually going to do. I think a short summary in the OP would help potential players understand it more and (hopefully) be interested.

Gender: Male

Age: Unknown

Appearance: Tall, lean and muscular, short brown/blond hair, bright blue eyes, average features, wears a suit of leather armour and carries with him two swords. The first one is a rapier with a long, thin, and very sharp badle with a Pappenheimer hilt. The second one is a short, curved, blade, also very sharp, with a standard hilt.

Personality: Honurable, prefers to fight one on one but is still very effective at fighting groups. Will not hesitat to kill you should you stand in his way.

Skills: Excellent swordsman, proficent with both long swords and short swords

Flaws: Compelet devotation to the order he founded, they call themself's Paladins.

Greatest fears: Spiders, heights

Current goal: Saving as many people as possible to take with him to Japan.

Bio: Nothing is known about what he did during or after the war. After the outbreak of the wonder drug monsters he and a group of similar people founded a camp, called New Hope, near the coast on the border between Russia and China. New Hope has grown thanks to scavaged parts and the people the Paladins bring to the it. New Hope is very self-sufficent but much of the camps inhabitents are compeletly indoctrinated by the ideals that the Paladins hold. Many new Paladins are trained their and any newcomers and non-believers are quickly and efficently turned to the Paladin's ideals. Artemis has set himself up as a god among the people in New Hope. He makes regular journey's out into the world and continues to help New Hope to expand. Conditions within New Hope are good and few people suffer, so long as they conform compeletly. Work has begun on a boat to take them to Japan.

The sheet asks what the characters curernt objective is. The character will begin trying to fulfill that and then this will change Etc.

You could...but there would be a chance of your death. I mean, you would be a potential enemy of the group. Unless you could change...but crazies are hard to change...

Name:Bridget Murphy

Gender: Female

Age: 16

Appearance:
Bridget is a young girl with blonde hair. She is usually wearing a black dress, but it is worn so she can still run fine. Bridget has blue eyes and is only 5 foot 5.

Personality: Bridget is a, more or less, typical teenage girl. She loves to hang out with friends and falls in "love" easily. The only difference between her and other girls, is she secretly trained in martial arts since she was young. This said, she isn't quick to anger and can control most of her emotions but, if faced with a conflict, can keep cool.

Skills: Hand to Hand combat,stealth and Sword Fighting.

Flaws: Bridget isn't too smart. She isn't good with any medical or technical systems, and is unable to use a gun either.

Greatest fears: Bridget is scared of death, and the dark.

Current goal: Bridget is currently trying to find her brother who had run off when all of this started.

Bio: Bridget had been born into a middle-class family. Her father had fought in the war as a cheetah and knew that the utopia they lived in would not last forever. He taught her martial arts since she was 5. Her brother, Michael, was born when she was 7 years old. He had trained along side of her and was much better at it then her. This had disappointed Bridget, but she still loved her brother. She was better than him with stealth but her brother was better than her at their (educational)studies. Bridget always had a hard time with math and science, but had a passion for different languages. When the "outbreak" started her parents had been killed and her brother had run off, telling her to stay safe until he could come find her. She had been waiting, and surviving, since then but finally decided that she has to go looking for him.

Fixed some stuff up. Such as adding faction
