In Indigo prophecy this isn't really a boss more a bitchy quick time event. While being talked to by a cop you start hallucinating about demon bugs. You do some quick time events but your sanity meter goes down anyway and my sanity was so low that I went insane every time. What is the cheapest thing ever is how you get past it *or atleast what I had to do*. I had to fail the quick time events and I didn't lose sanity. That's right the only way I had to proceed was to fail.....WTF indigo prophecy WTF

Poison Ivy in Batman AA that fight seemed crappy due to its repetitivness. Also i dont think it really worked in ocntext with the rest of the game

QUEEN LARSA! AAAAAAAAAAA(continues)

Sorry if I appear to be mentioning her often. I just attempted to beat her on God Mode. NOT FUN.

Most recent one I can think of is probably Hel from Viking:Battle for Asgard

After fighting your way to the top of Hel's fortress you reach a large circular room.Hel is in the middle of the room protected by a magic shield which must be disabled first. The room is divided into 4 quarters each of which contains a pole which must be destroyed. Each pole takes about 7-8 hits to destroy.Problem is while trying to smash the poles you are constantly being attacked by numerous respawning enemies. The lines separating the quarters also burst into flame every 20 seconds or so which can also damage you.Oh and your health doesn't regenerate, you only rarely get health from dead enemies(usually a miniscule amount) and you can only carry 3 health potions(which only restore about half your health anyway)

After dieing multiple, multiple times without managing to take down the shield I eventually quit out of sheer frustration so I don't even know how hard Hel herself is.Shame really as it was a good game up to that point

Orphan FFXIII

With that ridiculous instant kill move he might as well have been a giant malevolent slot machine.

Zedonius in Ninja Gaiden 2 on MNM.
There are plenty of cheap and frustrating bosses in that game, but none as frustrating as Zedonius.

In Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Alexei is the most annoying boss of all. The instant-kill grapples are EQFIWEHJIFJE FFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU.

They made Sigma easier in general, but boosted the boss grapple damage tenfold.
I really don't know what they were thinking.

You were probably underleveled. He shouldn't be one-shotting your party members (especially not player character) .The last couple of bosses were incredibly disappointing. Cid Raines was by far the hardest imo (well, required the most switching of classes at least).

The end boss from Neverwinter Nights 2. If I have to halt an epic battle to go and look up a "How to Kill" faq on the net, then we've got a problem.
Yep, Pain in the ass. And even then, he was ridiculous. Kill him twice, then kill 30 clones that are just as strong, just with a little less health, then kill him twice more. I gave up on him, and only finished when I decided to cheat and make myself invincible.

Necron from FF9,
Al Bhed Psyches in Bitzball.
WHY was Necron even there?! That was utterly pointless, Kuja should have been the final boss.
And might I add with the Al Bhed team how glorious it feels to build up a good team and kick their sorry asses to the curb. one of the best achievements in FFX, I swear XD.

And while I'm on the rant of pointless bosses, Izanami from Persona 4. Because THAT wasn't a "crap, we didn't justify this RANDOM BOSS BATTLE TO DECIDE FATE OF THE WORLD" move on the development team's part.

For me it's cheapest as it was a final boss fight but was so easy, even on the normal difficulty setting. The final boss fight in Alpha Protocol, all I did was stand still where I spawned and just kept head-shotting him until he died. All his henchmen were swarming me and he was using his MMG/RPG but I still managed to beat him by just standing still.

As I'm sure I've said several times now, fuck the Boost Guardian from Metriod prime 2. Fuck it in it's nostrils.

The bosses in Prototype are like this. Elizabeth Greene and the end boss. If you try to get close enough to use your critical mass devestators, they basically shoot you out of the air, meaning you lose critical mass. I had to spend most of the Elizabeth Greene fight hiding behind billboards eating Hunters. Even artillery strikes do nothing against her.
I just ended up doing the blade jump on her from the tallest possible building.

and Poison Ivy...

the pain..

Not underlevelled, if anything im overlevelled. He has a move which is simply instant KO.

Im happy to agree Cid was the hardest but in this thread im talking about the cheapest.
