Seeing as it is that time of year, I thought we could all band together and compile a list of Christmas episodes from television. Our favourites or simply ones people may not have heard about.

I will be adding them all to the OP with thanks to those who brought them up.

If people could provide the episodes name/season if possible (bonus points if you can provide a small summary/reason why you recommend it), that would be great, although if not I will be scouring the net to add in such details to help people find them more easily.

For those unfamiliar with the show. It is a cartoon based around an alien who infiltrates earth to prepare for invasion by his species. He also happens to be a complete moron.

In this episode Zim discovers how much people like Santa Claus and decides to use this in a plan to take over the world by dressing up in a Santa suit full of data about Christmas. The Santa suit malfunctions and engulfs Zim, effectively turning him into a real Santa Claus.

Fry's first Christmas spent in the future. Fry tries to make Leela have an enjoyable Xmas for the first time in many years. Then a robot Santa Claus attempts to hunt down everyone who he has judged to have been "naughty" that year, using a variety of heavy weaponry.

Fairly Odd Parents - Season 1 Episode 7: Christmas Every Day!>Even though I am not exactly into this show anymore... Season 1 was seriously legit and the staff really didn't have red tape on their show, or creating stupid live action movies *cough*. Anyhow, this episode has it where Timmy Turner finally gets to open presents on Christmas. Not only that, his parents get to stay home so that means no mean babysitter Vicky to ruin Timmy's day.

It is so good in fact, with joy everywhere and happiness all around... Timmy wishes it to be Christmas everyday. At first, it's a blast. Gifts and gifts pile up, people still in cheer and no mean babysitter while the parents have vacation time. But, i'll leave you to assume why that is a terrible wish to make. I loved it because it got me honestly thinking why I should be grateful that holidays are special because they only happen once a year and to make the best of them.

Father Ted - Season 2 Episode 11: A Christmassy Ted>

Because everyone needs a bit of Ted in their lives...and lets face it we've all been in the exact same situation as them in the lingerie department =P

Anyway a short summary is that Father Ted wins the "Golden Cleric" for saving s group of fellow priests from an embarrassing situation.

I just find the episode silly (in a good way) in that the show premise on chi energy and Chinese and Japanese mythologies and yet they still shoe in a Christmas special in that Christmas is also an Chi energy. Also this is the only animated show that I know that they made Santa Shed Asain theme!
One more thing, this episode also give a rare glimpse of Uncle being jolly to the point of being nice to Tohru mother who he loathe throughout the series!

As for the episode summary-
Jade assemble her J team to stop Daolon Wong from stealing Santa Claus Christmas chi.

It's a parody on Glee where the innocent little holiday music revue gets derailed as everyone's Christmas cheer gets accompanied by a heavy dose of brainwashing from the devious music director. The songs are uniformly outstanding, and the episode as a whole is easily one of the series' best.

Have a taste:

In the "Christmas episode", Static has to deal with a young homeless girl who has the power over ice, snow, cold, etc. She's mentally unstable because of how she's been treated both before and after the big bang, and the episode largely focuses on the plight of the homeless, particularly homeless children. Being set in the Christmas season made the episode even more impacting.

Even as I got older, I still liked the Rugrats episode where they go to a cabin for Christmas and Angelica is convinced that she is going to get a lump of coal for Christmas.

Likewise, I enjoy the All Grown Up episode where Chuckie tries to have a normal Christmas. It did a decent job of the cookie-cutter Christmas special (i.e. character gets too caught up in possessions while forgetting the "real meaning" of Christmas) while also managing to keep it enjoyable and not-too-cheesy.

That's really all I can remember. Overall, I generally just don't view the Christmas special as anything special compared to any other episodes except for in a few cases.
