Asael smoothly vacated the tub as he decided he had properly cleansed himself of any grime left over from the prison, slipping on a robe conveniently found in the room, picking up his old prison garments before leaving the room, and entering the main area of the suite.

"So I was thinking about that prison you want to "Visit" Lazlo, since Eren Douab is probably in the gutter by now, wouldn't that mean that they're doing one of two things" spoke Asael, clutching his inmate garbs as thought he wished to toss them in a fire somewhere.

"They're either reinforcing the prison, or they're pulling out men to prepare for war, both actions leave the door open to scheming individuals" spoke the Cynic with a grin, "you know, the type of individuals we make ourselves to be" remarked Asael as he looked towards the bedroom.

"Is it possible for me to get a proper set of clothes in they're, and do we have a fireplace?"

Malina---

When she arrived, Lorel fell to the ground, as Itsuka was starting to regain her energy to move. She noticed all over Lorel?s body, red lines with blood coming from them. Oddly enough, they weren?t cuts, when she touched one, she felt his skin, and nothing else, no wound. But blood was still flowing out.

?We need to get him out of here.? Spoke Malina.

Itsuka looked up at her. ?Who are you??

?That doesn?t matter, but I am a friend of Lorel. I will explain once we get safe.?

Malina helped Itsuka up who was starting to be able to move. Then she picked up Lorel and put him over her shoulder. Being a vampire had its perks of being strong. ?We need to find a way out?? She scanned the area and saw a watch out tower, which went over the wall. As she moved in the direction, Itsuka followed. Luckily it seemed the guards stationed at the tower were already gone to fight in the tower.

At the top they looked down, the wall was high. How would they get down?

Velen---

?You know, I can?t leave my friends in there.? Velen spoke seriously.

?Friends? Which of those? Weren?t you more of the loner type, after you left Nu?ve??

Velen remembered his times in the Nu?ve, it wasn?t the longest time, but he was a bit of an asset. Though he would never admit to it, except to Mar that he was only in it to get info to bring back to resistance groups.

?Well before I got thrown in here, I was with Lorel Ion and Itsuka Maen, as well as??

?Lorel Ion..??

?Yeah??

?You didn?t tell him about Mizuki, did you??

?No, I did not.?

[small]-Damien: Somewhere in the Northern Mountains-[/small]

Damien appeared in a flash of flames that immediately melted the snow that lay on the ground in large blankets around where Damien appeared. The ground underneath the snow was rocky and barren, which gave Damien the impression that he was now further north in The City then he had ever been before. A wind rolled over the snow, bringing most of the surrounding snow towards Damien in an icy breeze. Damien shivered, and immediately conjured up a wall of flames that stopped the wind in its tracks and shielded Damien from the cold, at least on one side. Damien looked around and saw the icy wastes stretch on for leagues on all sides, large mountains stretching up into the clouds in the distance.

"You look a little chilly Damien." said a voice behind him.

Damien whipped around to see Edward sitting on a larger rock, wearing a fur-lined jacket and everything else needed to endure the weather here. He wore snow boots lined with animal fur, and he appeared to be warm despite the metal gauntlets he still wore. He held in one hand a dark black cloak lined with red fur, and in the other he held a pair of fur-lined boots and fur-lined gloves, all made from the same material as his cloak. Damien smiled just at the look of the new clothing.

"Here, put this on, you'll feel better. Send your other clothes back to your tower, it's still intact and being watched over." Edward said, throwing the cloak over to Damien who quickly threw his own cloak off to don the new one. It fit him nicely, and he wondered if the other items would fit him this nicely. Edward threw the boots and gloves over to Damien, who quickly replaced his old ones with the fur-lined clothing. Once he was outfitted with warmer clothing, he managed to stop himself from shivering and started to think clearly.

Damien glanced over to his other clothing which lay in the snow, slowly being covered up by the snow that blew over them with the wind. Damien snapped his fingers, and the clothing was gone, leaving only the indents of where they used to be in the snow which was soon gone as well. Damien returned his gaze to Edward who still sat on the rock, seemingly unaffected by the cold wind that blew through his hair and open cloak.

"Where have we gone Edward?" Damien asked, pulling his cloak tight around him to limit the chill as his fire wall disappeared.

"We are near to our base, but you couldn't breach the barrier, which Aberon and I realized too late. I instinctively brought you the clothing and teleported out near the borders of our land, to see if I could get to you before you froze to death out here. You may have survived for some time with aid from magic, but even that couldn't save you from the cold here. It chills not only a person's body, but his soul as well." Edward said, talking almost as if he were alone before realizing Damien was still there, "well, you are going to tell me something before your able to enter our lands by teleportation."

Damien waited for a continuation, but when none came Damien gave Edward a questioning look which brought Edward back to reality.

"I'm sorry, its just not a question we ask too often. Do you, Damien Matthews, accept our invitation to join us, the Lost Souls, in our struggle to overthrow the tyrannical leaders that have taken over?" Edward asked, in a more serious tone than Damien had ever heard from him use.

"I accept." Damien said, falling down to one knee while pressing his fist against his chest.

"Then welcome to our brotherhood Damien." Edward said with a smile.

Both mages disappeared again, the remnants of their magic floating away in the icy breeze that drifted over where Damien had stood seconds before...

The ring of steel clashing upon steel filled the warehouse as the battle raged. Korad was nearly over matched fighting his two opponents, who were quite skilled for simple hired muscle, but if his years leading his men through thick and thin as part of the Middle district army had prepared him for anything, it was how to fight numerically superior foes. And so, his injured left arm clutched tightly to his side, the Solider continued to fight.

Sparks flew from Korad's sword as he violently countered an enemy blow, the momentum of which caused the young thug to recoil slightly. The veteran solider used this to his advantage and in a flash he had broken at least three of the thugs ribs with a steel toed boot to the ribs. The hired goon collapsed to the ground clutching at his chest and dropping his sword as he did so. His first enemy taken care of, Korad spun 45 degrees counter clockwise and raised his sword to block the wild blows of his other opponent, who had risen from the floor after loosing an eye to Korad moments before.

Sparks continued to fly as the swords of the two foes clashed again and again, the speed of their manoeuvres impressive to behold, especially since Korad was fighting and winning with only one good arm.

The outcome of the battle was predictable, as just as the thug wildly flailed at Korad for the last time, the veteran ducked under his final blow and drove his sword into his foes stomach. Not pausing for a second, Korad took a step back and kicked the man backwards, freeing his sword from his now deceased foes belly.

"Kill those two and follow me Jinso, we've got to get Natel before she escapes!" shouted Korad as he started running up a nearby flight of stairs towards Natels office.

Lazlo thought for a moment. "Not sure." The other trick is paperwork. Security will be tighter. A new directive on their part will most certainly mean new channels of authority. However...." His face showed somewhat more confidence. "Yeah.... I can round us up some." With all this violence, underground marketeers will undoubtedly have procured such goods." Lazlo grabbed his coat and threw it on. "Fire place is in the master bedroom. Now if you will excuse me, I have a friend to see about costume jewelry."

A few hours later Lazlo returned. He had a large sack and inside were two officers uniforms.

"How is your acting?" He said, a twinkle in his eyes.things were looking up, very up.

Asael nodded as Lazlo left, quickly making his way to the bedroom towards the dim flames of the fireplace, and it was with a smirk that he promptly fed his prison garments to the flames, taking it in only for a second before moving to the dresser and slipping on the most comfortable looking outfit with an onyx color.

A few hours later Asael made himself comfortable leaning against the wall opposite of the Suites entrance, it wasn't long before Lazlo walked in with a plan in a sack and a spark in his eye, "after years of pretending to enjoy my own company......." answered Asael as he approached his new partner.

"....I think I'll be able to manage" spoke Asael with a confident grin, "now I'm certain there's subtle details to this plan I need to hear, or 'am I mistaken?" asked the Cynic with a perked brow as he stood with a relaxed disposition as he stood near Lazlo.

Lorel---

His mind began to swirl like a whirlpool, constantly changing thoughts. No matter what his body wouldn?t move, all he could see was blackness.

?Lorel wake up!? He could hear a voice.

His eyes slowly woke and saw a bright light that blinded him but his eyes soon adjusted and looked around his setting. Stone walls, torches, red rugs, and people walking about in similar style clothes.

?We got class! So get on up.?

What is this? Why am I back in Magic Academy?

Involuntarily his body began to move and got up and stretched. ?Fine.? Lorel picked up his book and began to go ahead.

This all seems very familiar? Isn?t this?

The girl was Sophia he was following, the very same he saw at Gallu. He never talked to her much, but she occasionally knew that he would fall asleep and would make it her duty to wake him up. As they did have class and were partners in their Non-Elemental class.

This is? This is the day, I am forced out of Upper District.

Malina---

?How to get down? Even for a Vampire, a fall like that would kill me.?

Itsuka gave her a long and strange look. ?Vampire??

?Never mind, like I said, I will explain everything later. You got any idea?s, you have magic don?t you?? Malina spoke looking down the wall. She turned around and saw the battle was spreading and would soon engulf this area. Itsuka was in deep thought, she hadn?t used magic in a whole year so she didn?t want to do something complex, plus her energy was still coming back.

She clapped her hands and closed her eyes and for a second it seemed like nothing was happening. Until she crossed her arms and a slight bright flash. Once it was gone, a round light, see through disc appeared in front of them on the wall. ?Get on.?

They climbed over the railing and on to it. Malina was slightly nervous but it didn?t move. Itsuka put her hands together like a prayer and the disc began to descend downwards. Below the streets were now empty and luckily the side they were on, wasn?t the invasion side.

?Good job.? Malina praised Itsuka.

?It?s nothing.?

?For the current situation you?re in, it?s interesting that you can stay so calm.?

?If I wasn?t, then this magic wouldn?t work as well. Calm is key. At least when I do magic it is.?

Soon they reached the bottom and the spell turned off.

?Let?s go!?

Following Jaq's reply, a smile brightened Acelle's face once more and she felt a slight tinge of hope deep inside of her, as she thought that perhaps this whole ordeal could work out and that maybe, just maybe, they could pull Curtis out and dispose of Fischer, which would be a significant step in the road to freedom for the city.

The assassin stepped forwards and handed Jaq a piece of crumpled paper with a selection of addresses written on them.

"These are some of our safe-houses and armourers in the area, you can use these to rest up and resupply whenever you need, whats ours is yours, just show them this and they will give you all the help they can afford" began Acelle, as she handed Jaq a ring of dyed cloth, a green band.

"I've also circled the address of the safehouse where we shall meet, its just by the main market. We have a week until we execute our plan, get ready" said Acelle and once she had finished talking, she turned to leave, but hesitated and added "Thank you Jaq, this means alot to us, means alot to me" and before the young man had a chance to reply, Acelle had turned fully and walked past a corner, vanishing out of sight.

Lazlo looked around, thinking for a moment.
"Paperwork to get in will be nearly impossible to forge right now. Im thinking we need to slip in subtly."
He yawned for a moment then said. "Get some sleep tonight friend. Tomorrow, we will make our move."

"You actually have a plan?" Estell chirped in.
"Yes: Improvise"
"Wonderful..." she walked away towards the bedroom with a sarcastic tone.
Lazlo followed her in. The two began undressing for bed. Estell put on a night gown and Lazlo simply slept in his clothes.
"You really plan on just breaking people out, just like that?" She asked as she climbed into the bed.
"You didnt know me a year ago. I was rogue, running on my own impulses. Things change. Its the only thing left in the cards for right now I suppose. We are running blind until we find a group we can trust."

The two starred up at the ceiling.

"You're kind of an idiot lazlo..."
"Yeah... I know."
Estell rolled over so her back was to him. "And thank God for it." she murmured. she owed him her freedom. She had seen what those men had done to once brilliant sparks of life, free thinking, loving, hurting, feeling, believing or doubting beings into nothing but mindless killers. And she would likely have become one of them if not for his intervention.

(Kain, Ferela)

Kain and Marco arrived at a inn after struggling through alley ways away from onlookers and the fighting. The duo limped into the inn and slammed their hands down on the desk. Annoyed the Inn Keeper came out from the back room until he caught notice of the stump where Marco's hand should be, "I'm coming you people can't wait- What happened to you?" The keeper asked. Kain responded with a glare and hissed his response, "In case you haven't notice their's a battle going on not that far from here! We need a place to rest and we would rather stay unnoticed so if you could keep this quiet, everything will be fine." The Innkeeper raised an eye and observed their prison clothes, "You know, we had two people come in not long after the fighting started. One wore prison gear like yours so maybe the other guy busted him out."

Kain and Marco threw even more questions after that, "What did they look like? Did you catch their names?" The Innkeeper backed away and answered, "Well the one with the prison gear had his hair shaved, and was tall. He also had a few scars." The Innkeeper paused before he remembered more details, "The other was bald but average height, muscular I might add. They're staying in a room with a girl as well. I'll find their rooms for you."

After the Innkeeper gave the room location and gave them their room free of charge for one night, Kain and Marco conversed on the way up to the room. "Do you think it's Asael?" Kain asked to Marco. Marco pondered for a second and nodded, "Has to be. Might know the man he's with once I see him but he might be too small for me to have noticed. I don't know anyone with his description. Though I have one theory. We'll just have to wait and see."

Kain and Marco arrived at the room where they suspected Asael and his rescuer to be staying. Kain pounded on the door, "Asael? Is that you in there?"

Kain and Marco are at your doorstep. Respond as you will.

Damien materialized int he middle of a fort, where people rushed about their lives despite his sudden appearance in their midst. He looked around to see if he could find Edward, but only saw two armored guards walking towards him with serious looks on their faces. They each carried two large sword on their backs, and they bore dark black armor. They weren't wearing their masks, or Damien wouldn't have been able to tell them apart.

"Are you Damien?" They asked simultaneously.

"Yes, and I'm going to assume Edward sent you to get me?" Damien asked, being asked to follow the guards before they spoke again. They led him towards one of the larger buildings in the fort, one that had its back to a mountain and its large oak doors shut due to the cold.

"Yes, Lord Edward and Lord Aberon assumed that you would appear here in the center of the village, since you haven't been shown around. That will come later, but for now Lord Edward wishes to see you." The guard said, refusing to say much more until they opened the large double doors that led into the building.

"They are just inside, open that larger door at the end of the corridor and they are just in there... although they may be in the middle of asking the newer recruits questions." The guard said, pointing down the hallway to the large doors at the end of the corridor.

Damien nodded and entered the building, only to turn around again when the large double-doors slammed shut behind him, leaving him in utter silence and almost complete darkness except for a few torches that lay in brackets throughout the hallway. The burned with an unreal flame, and the gave Damien chills when he looked long enough at them. He shook the thought off, and proceeded down the hallway, noting that not only the larger doors at the end of the corridor were here. Other doorways were scattered through the hallway, but all of them were closed. The building was well decorated, housing many fine decorations including the rug that Damien was now walking on.

Damien arrived at the large doors, and opened them without hesitation. He was greeted by a large circular room with many torches lining the walls and a large window that let in much natural light. Three thrones sat at the far side of the hall, and a staircase lay behind it, leading both up and down. A few many knelt in the center of the hall, Edward standing over them and speaking to them in slightly harsh tones. His face brightened when he saw Damien though, ushering him over and in front of the kneeling soldiers.

"This is your Lord Damien. He will be in control of all of you when the need arises or whenever he feels like it. With his help our fort will become more powerful and we will have more supplies to aid in our goals... not to mention now that he's here it is time for our first raid." Edward grinned, ushering the others out so that he, Damien and Aberon were alone once more.

"This place is quite impressive." Damien said, smiling as he examined the artwork carved into the stone floor.

"Indeed, we found it and now its ours. We do have a favor to ask of our new lord though... we are in need of new supplies and the we must also make ourselves known to the Upper District." Edward said, his eyes pleading with Damien.

"So what you want is for me to lead an attack on the Upper District?" Damien asked, "or a lesser district here in the north?"

"Exactly, if you sack a village here in the north, we can gather more supplies and we will become known. You don't have to do it ye-"

"I'll be ready tomorrow. Alert the troops that are coming with me to be prepared tomorrow as well. I will need a full nights rest, so I will be in my chambers which are..." Damien cut off, looking at Edward for guidance.

"Up the stairs behind us. Your room is the very last one, center of the hall so its easy to find. You should find all of your belongings there, and something special that you left behind." Edward said with a smile, motioning for Damien to leave and get some rest, "Your troops will be ready in the morning."

Damien nodded and quickly left the hall, finding his room at the top of the stairs and opening his mouth in shock as he saw who was inside. A rush of wind and he was being hugged as someone began crying into his shoulder. He smiled and gave Myra a hug, closing the door behind them and letting her go.

"Missed me?" Damien said sarcastically, earning him a playful smack across the face.

"Of course, do you know that the entire City has believed you dead for the past year? I thought you died when Kid disappeared." Myra said, which led Damien to believe she thought Kid was alive as well.

"Well enough for today, I'm sure your tired. After all, your leading your army to war tomorrow." Myra laughed playfully as Damien fell over exhausted on the double bed in the room. He was out in a matter of seconds.

Asael sat in a relaxed state with his back against a wall near the suite's entrance, attempting to muster up the will to sleep over all the thoughts pounding about his head, they're demanding throbs forbode him from shutting his eyes for a second, and even as he tried it seemed he could not find an uneventful end to the evening as a familiar voice came knocking at the door.

The Cynic brought himself back up to his feet with a cautious glare on the door, in spite of his eyes his step to the door was cocksure, hesitating for a second before placing his hand on the door's handle taking into consideration the option of letting the call go unanswered.

"Were you expecting another swordsman with a chip on his shoulder?" greeted Asael as he pried the door open for Kain and Marco, ushering the battered duo into the room with haste, Asael knew even in this state they were trustworthy asset's and Lazlo would probably be one to agree "so shall I sit here in suspense or are you two going to explain how you came to look so close to becoming the deceased?" asked Asael masking his concern with a nonchalant mannerism, taking notice of the duo's numerous wounds.

Lorel---

The memory continued?

?Everyone, today, we?re learning about making levitation discs that you can get onto and go about.? Their teacher announcing standing in front of the class.

A student raised his hand, it was Heyin, Lorel never spoke to him much. ?Sir, why can?t we do levitation without a dish??

?Well in this case, the dish is for you to walk on. To make a levitation skin around you ? costs much more energy than using on another, and less than making a disc. Now let me demonstrate. Close your eyes imagine the spot of where you wish it to be. Put your hands together. Then - Cross them!? As he finished, a suddenly ray of light sparked out and a transparent disc appeared ahead.

?It goes without saying that you must imagine the disc and its size. Now do as I did, with your partners of course, they will be your test dummies.? With that he left the class loose. Lorel got with Sophia and they began to practice.

Malina---

Together they went through alleyway after alleyway, stopping at any possible Mage Hunter or Upper Soldier. It was then out of the corner of her eye, that Itsuka called out a name. ?Kain?? She turned towards Malina. ?We got to go to that inn.?

Malian looked out of the alley. ?Let?s wait just a moment; some Mage Hunters are going by. Hide your magic.?

They waited a bit for the Mage Hunters to go by and then they went to the inn. They were greeted by the keeper who didn?t seem too pleased. ?More people from the battle who need to lay down??

?Yes. Also did you see two others come in here??

Without inquire he told them their location. Together they went upstairs and to the room and knocked on the door.

Jinso---

They went up the stairs to the office. When they got up to the floor they went down the hallway, smacking down any men in their way. Closing in on the door, Jinso pulled back his maces and then whammed them into the door, ripping it from its hinges. Inside there was no one. ?Where is he?? Then he noticed the door in the corner was opened and light was coming through.

Running through the door, light from the sky came down on them, almost blindly. Looking to his right, there was a ladder going down. He could see Natel running. ?I got this.? Jinso threw a mace into the air, caught it and then brought his arm back. ?Got him.? He threw the mace at Natel, where they could see it impact him, causing him to collapse to the floor.

?Now let?s get the information from him.?

Lazlo stood in the doorway, the knocking had woken him up. He leaned against the door frame, arms folded.
"I assume they are the information brokers..."
He was a man of few words around those he didnt get that instant funny feeling of trust with.

Asael turned his gaze over to Lazlo, "actually yes, but how they found they're way to us, I'm at a loss..." Asael explained to his friend before turning his gaze back to Kain and Marco, "but they were just about to enlighten me, weren't you?" the Cynic asked the Brokers with a nonchalant tone and demeanor, but a sense of wariness came about when another knock came at the door.

Glancing back at the entrance with yet another suspicious glare, one more than was comfortable in a night, "tell me we're actually expecting visitors this time, and if so tell me they're the cheery types?" asked Asael expecting no answer to the rhetorical question while keeping his suspicious glare on the suite's main entrance.

Almost like a cat arching its back, claws out and ready, two smalls spheres of raw psionic kinetic energy formed in Lazlos hands.

His cover was blown, his concealment from the chaos of the outside world, ineffective.

"If this lot can find me, so can they." He thought to himself.

"Half-right, Marco's the Broker, I'm just a thief." Kain said as Lazlo entered the room. Looking at Asael Kain quickly explained, "Some 'friends' from the Upper District found us in Eren Douab. We barely got away and Marco lost his hand in the fight. His wound is stable for now, we just needed rest. We stopped by this Inn and the Keeper downstairs noticed our clothing and compared them to Asael's appearance. That's how we found you."

When knocking started Kain instinctively put his hand to where his sword normally was until he realized he had none. Marco was quite calm when the knocking started. He whispered to Kain wisely, "It's no one dangerous. Otherwise they wouldn't have knocked. Answer the door Kain." Looking at Lazlo Marco chuckled, "It's nothing to worry about, calm down." Kain stood up and creaked over the floor to the entrance. Slowly Kain grasped the door and started to slowly open it until he recognized the visitors. Itsuka, Lorel unconscious with a woman Kain didn't recognize. Barely suppressing his happiness to see his companions again he gestured them in. When he noticed Lorel's body in the light, Kain became serious. "Lay him down somewhere comfortable please. What happened?" Kain asked.

Asael's brow was thoroughly cocked when he saw the unconcious Lorel and his little entourage enter, "fantastic we're just a duo short of a reunion, and need I remind you what happened the last time we gathered, and I highly doubt bad news ever stopped following us" spoke Asael with a cynical composure, before turning to Lazlo with an grim expression that described how disturbed he was by this odd situation, "so what exactly do you all plan to do now, or should my Friend and I start making suggestion?" asked The Cynic, making his way over to the wall on Lazlo's side of the room, leaning his back against it with a businessman's expression.

"Marco and I are going South. It's not safe for us anywhere else." Kain said to Asael. "We haggled the innkeeper into giving Marco and I a free room. The fighting outside will continue and I doubt people will attack us now." Kain continued. Marco also argued to the plan of being togehter, "Either we're all alone facing consequences or we're all together facing consequences. Pick one so we can find solutions for everyone!"
