...There's a Clannad movie? Holy shit. I have to watch it.

Excuse me.

Edit: Damnit. I checked, and there isn't a real movie, so to speak. There's an OVA (OAV, whatever), which I've already seen.

You got my hopes up!
No there IS a clannad movie. Made by Toei Animation. 1.5+ hours long. Where did you check?

This is why we use google. This was the first result.

I must then do several things.

1: I must re-iterate "Holy shit."
2: I must thank you for correcting me. So, thank you.
3: Actually, funnily enough, I used Wikipedia, but I only typed in "Clannad." After redirecting myself away from a band of the same name (getting to the visual novel Clannad), I looked through the intro section, which usually lists, with links, the various other media something is in. I must have skimmed too fast, because I didn;t see that there was a film.

I didn't use google, mostly because I forgot to (and it usually ends up directing you to wikipedia anyway, so I usually try to cut out the middleman).

The Clannad movie was terrible <_<.

Play the visual novel! If you run through all the lines and finish up After Story you'll get a much more complete understanding of the world and its characters.

If you're unwilling to throw 300+ hours into the game, though, you could cop out and watch the anime. That'd only take...20 hours or so, for both seasons.

Well, most members who are just floating around are not into anime. If you want to talk about anime, you talk to it with people who will know what you are talking about. Which is why I said this should have been in the anime group. Plus this if off-topic, not exactly a MOVIE forum like you say.

I'm sorry, but:

LOLWUT?

I thought Clannad were some kind of new-age, neo-pagan band who wrote a song for the soundtrack of "The Last of the Mohicans" but maybe I am mistaken...

EDIT:

Guys, he's asking us to talk about movies in which we felt so connected to the characters that we got emotionally involved.

In other words, movies that you cried from. This guy cried from the Clannad movie.

Doesn't seem too complicated to me.

To OP: No movie has ever made me cry. Anime yes, no movie.
Oh I seeeeeeee.

In that case, I always cry (a bit) at the end of Saving Private Ryan. When the old Pvt. Ryan is in the graveyard in Normandy, and he salutes the graves of the fallen Rangers while his family stand in the background, and the American flag flutters nearby.

I'm not even American, but that bit gets me every time. I think it's 'cos the actor for old Ryan looks a bit like my Grandpa.
