So I've been thinking about my favorite games, and one that stands out as having been truely unique was Conker's Bad Fur Day. It was just awesome and hilarious as anyone who played it knows. Extremely diverse gameplay from the matrix level to the lava-surfboard race to the platforming to saving private ryan area... goes on and on. A lot of the humour was pretty slap stick but there's still something uniquely hilarious about a potty-mouthed paintbrush or killing the Great Mighty Poo (who sings opera) with toilet paper. Oh or how about getting drunk, pissing on flame demons, then smashing their furnace's brass balls with two bricks? Hahah I loved it! Oh and it even had an actually rather scary (at the time) zombie level.

I'm wondering if there's any games like this I've simply missed out on? Or, what thoughts do you escapists have on the 'genre'? I really would like to see something like this come around this generation.

Bad Company had some funny trailers... And that's all I know about the humor in that game.

Another fun game though is probably Brütal Legend. Say what you want about it, but I frikkin loved the humor in that game.

Nice, what system(s) are these games on, btw?

And I just thought of one old PC game that was really funny: Day of the Tentacle. Classic point and click mystery adventure type game but lots of humour.

hell yes.

There are a number of point and click games that I would class in the comedy genre. Most other games fall in other genres but have comedy elements in it i.e. Borderlands, phoenix wright. Not sure what to class this as though...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_s7iCOj9HU

Stubbs the Zombie

Headbowling, demonic hand posession, delicious brains, rip there arm off and beat them with the wet end!

One of the very few games that brought me to guffaws of laughter.

The Monkey Island games, Leisure Suit Larry (earlier ones anyway, the modern ones are supposed to suck), Sam and Max... I'm sure there's others.

Basically, you need to have a look at some PC adventure games. Plenty available from places like Good Old Games, GamersGate, Steam etc.

The Earthworm Jim games and also MDK were developed by notably-funny corporation, Shiny Entertainment, while MDK2 was done by someone else and STILL funny. Naturally, I must also tow the Destroy All Humans line, as well as the Discworld games and Starship Titanic.

Bard's Tale, at least the newer one was Purely a comedic game.

It wasn't that great (Well, it was actually pretty horrible), but it was certainly meant as a satire of the traditional Western RPG.

The Neverhood had some charming moments. like when he was being chased by a weasel and slamed into a mulberry bush.

Portal.

How has no one mentioned Portal yet. That game was possibly the funniest 2 hours of gaming I've ever played.
