You gotta admit, playing a tree-hugging hippie jedi and still be badass, that is what you could call very cool.

Forget Clinton, Bush or Obama. They're a bunch of wimpy pussies compared to the most badass president of all times: Theodore Roosevelt. Checking his resume is like reading a How-To guide on ass-kicking manliness. A fellow politician said this at the time of Roosevelt's death:

"Death had to take him sleeping, for if Roosevelt had been awake there would have been a fight."

Oh, I agree.
If I ever see them live, he better push people off the stage or throw stuff into the audience. Otherwise I'll want my money back.

Bruce Dickinson is a good candidate in my opinion, a very interesting bloke.

Others would be:
Douglas Adams
Spike Milligan

I'm glad to have only seen 1 shout for Chuck Norris... god hes a douche bag

Vladimir Putin.

He's a black belt.
He was trained by the KGB.
He shot a charging tiger with a tranquilizer gun when everyone else was freaking out.
He took a submarine to the deepest lake on Earth just to have a look around.
He used to be the president of Russia.
He couldn't take another term in office, but they liked him so much he's stuck around as prime minister of Russia.
Once again. He shot a live, man-eating tiger that was charging at him with a tranquilizer gun... He was probably ready to wrestle the thing if the tranquilizer didn't work...

What the hell rest of the world? Are you even trying?

Don't bother... This man is WAY cooler than you could ever hope to be.

Since the amount of fictional people who could make the list is neverending, I guess I'll have to stick with people there's a chance I might actually meet. Or could have met in olden times.

Jack Churchill [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Churchill] deserves a mention.
Only man to use a bow and arrow in World War 2, signed up to Commando's on the grounds it sounded dangerous, led two companies in operation archery playing 'The March of the Cameron Man' on bagpipes, and more besides.

Seriously, as a rolemodel to bad-assery this guy has it in spades.
That guy wins everything!

"If it weren't for those damn yanks, we could have kept the war going for another 10 years!"

Hilarious :D

HARDCORE [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WDuq9VR_pzg] MAX [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4fpuC6vyM7s&feature=related] is not only cool - he's hardcore. He doesn't even wear a helmet.

Oh, wait, real people... Uh. I'm gonna say Josh Homme.

Actually I don't but I have read his biography and as a communist I think he is deserving of being a cultural icon. Che Guevara fought by Fidel Castro's side in Cuba and after Fidels victory he would go on to start a failed revolt in Bolivia. He would later be captured and killed, with help from a CIA operative, in a schoolhouse.
