Theres that miraculous piece of horror I was looking for posted by Fox12 (props to you hehe) I was looking through this and thought if that...Albert Einstin/Lucifer thing isnt on here...Ill eat a broom with the stick. Yep that one horrified me from the buildup/theme of it. The Ambience is good and its just completely awkward and unsettling in my opinion. I donno if a child would completely understand what it is, yet I do imagine, a young adult in his teens, knows exactly whats being talked about and can put the imagery and the context together.

Seriously this guy gave me nightmares. Why they put him in a kids show is beyond me.
That's still not the creepiest shit Courage the Cowardly dog has made in terms of story (*cough The Great Fusilli cough*)

Adventure Time: The Lich

The thing that made me write this in the first place.

1) Fuck you Ron Pearlman and your deep seductive yet terrifying voice.

2) The darkest episode of Adventure Time ever made and the only time a character has been killed off that didn't already start out dead.

3) THE FUCKING IMAGERY IN THIS EPISODE. And that Lich/Billy abomination. FUCK.

4) The second best episode of Adventure Time ever made (I remember you takes the cake and will NEVER be dethroned), and it's just excellent.
if you are still talking about that episode then you did not see last nights episode then..

BECAUSE FINN FREAKING LOST HIS ARM!....

I mean they have been kinda dropping hints throughout the show and comic about it but it went and happened! and the fact it happened because of his dad ... on the bright side of weird shit in adventure time however the lich is now a baby being raised by treetrunks and mr. pig lol

also lets not forget "no one can hear you" aka the nightmare fuel episode about a deer O____o its not like blood and guts scary but it still is rather disturbing and creepy

also next weeks is gonna have non-candy possibly nuclear biased zombies in it so you know that one might also have a dollop of horror in it

Or The Groke, as she's called in English. She scared the **** out of all the little Swedish TV-watching kids.

No, I won't include a picture. All the trigger warnings in the world would't be enough.
You mean this fucker right here?

I can't really remember any specific instances, but I just get a strange sense of foreboding, a sort of creeping dread, anytime anyone mentions the Moomins. I was quite young when the stop motion series came out so it probably creeped me out more than later stuff that was just as weird.

I've watched a few episodes of Adventure Time and I have to say, that show is dark. There are some serious, "This is a kids' show?" moments. Especially regarding The Lich, and when the camera pulls way out into space and reveals that a huge part of the Earth has been completely destroyed.
I'm starting to actually get interested in it now.

That thing especially! I used to watch The Moomins and all - I can only vaguely remember The Groke; I think I must have blocked it from memory. It's the only reasonable explanation as to why I still have some fragments of my sanity.

The Adventure Time Episode where Finn gets the Little Versions of him and his friends (Forget the Title) from the Magic Man Creeped me right out, not because of the Premise, but because of how Finn reacts and uses them. He doesn't do the normal thing like "Oh, I'll make the Little People worship me as a god" or "Oh, I'll make the Little people fight to see who would beat who". No, he decides to constantly pair them up romantically, to the point where weeks pass and that's all he's done, and all the little people hate each other and are upset at one another, simply because Finn kept pairing them up and splitting them off. I don't know why, but I Just thought that was F***ed up. I haven't really watched Adventure Time since then, although I have caught a few episodes (The One where Jake and Rainacorn had the kids, and the ones about Marceline and the Ice King mostly).

Several of the "events" in the Teletubbies were a bit weird and uncanny, but nothing matched the sheer primal horror of the Lion and the Bear...

I remember jumping out of my seat and turning the TV off if I knew it was coming.

How many other children's TV shows had scenes that were banned in many countries because they were too scary?
Ah. As scary as that lion was when I was younger, I honestly thought that Scottish (?) puppet in the weird appearing-and-disappearing house was more frightening.

But none of that compared to that one giant fan, the one that heralds the coming illusory tale with its own ominous sound. I had nightmares where I'd be trekking through a bleak/creepy landscape. Suddenly, I would hear it spinning in the distance and that told me I needed to hide because something deeply alien and horrifying would be passing through. Even without the pink sparkles I would recognize that damn sound and I knew I was in immediate danger. And if the... thing came into my field of view, I couldn't look directly at it or it would stop, look in my direction and instantly know where I was. Even just having it in my peripheral vision for a split second could've been fatal if I hadn't crawled away since it was smart enough to investigate my former position.

That's how much that fan terrified me when I was a kid.

Surprisingly creepy claymation. As an aside, GW's Tzeentchian daemons were originally a lot like that guy.
Holy shit, trapdoor! I fucking loved this show as a kid!

*watches*

What...what the fuck just happened? I'm not scared, but I am utterly confused as to what I just witnessed. How did I not shit my pants at this as a kid? That bit in casper (because although I'm a hardcore horror fan now, I was a fucking coward as a kid) where Bill Pullman turns into the crypt keeper gave me fucking nightmares, but somehow this didn't get me at all.

Anyway, I don't know whether this was meant for kids but...still.

Cartoon Network fucking hates children. I swear, what the hell is wrong with them? ...Sorry, stupid question.

The Havest Moon Spirit from Courage the Cowardly Dog.
The Blue Trumpet thingy.
Violin Girl. This girl appeared twice, for a total of about 10 seconds, yet she's one of the scariest things in kids' animation period. No psychology bullshit that the show normally tries to pull; here's a jump scare of a little girl who prolapses out of her face.
Bostionian.
What the fuck were they thinking?... It's actually pretty funny if you think about it, though.
This is Wallace from Bee and Puppycat. Fans of Adventure Time will immediately notice Natasha Allegri's (the person whose art style was used; she's also thes storyboard artist and general artist behind the show) art style. It doesn't make it any less disturbing.
Adventure Time has way too many.

Obviously, this is proof that kids are getting tougher.. we need to push them further.

You should see the latest episode. The Lich actually (rather graphically) murders someone on-screen while they beg to be released. And he manages to utterly defeat Finn with a single word, then starts talking about how Finn's people will die and the Lich will take an army of billions across the cosmos to destroy it all.

Edit: Got the exact quote. 'You are alone, child. There is only darkness for you, and only death for your people. I will command a great and terrible army, and we will sail to a billion worlds. We will sail until every light has been extinguished. You are strong, child, but I am beyond strength. I am The End.'

All this while Finn is lying on the ground, desperately trying to stand only to keep collapsing back onto the ground while the Lich keeps walking closer and closer.

The crazy part about all of that, is that when he's in the form of Billy, he's actually far creepier... I don't know why...

Yeah, that's still not as fucked up as

Skinning Billy alive, wearing his skin, and vaporizing a guy to another character to dust (marking the second character death in the series). I mean Billy is still the darkest shit they've ever done with a character.

This one came to mind whilst I was at work today, its not from a show or anything but is a cartoon movie rated as '12'. I remember watching that one on the telly ages ago and it literally..scarred me for life haha. Donno if anyone knows of the movie called 'Felidae'? Its basically, theres some cat detective, and me in my pure...young years of 11ish or so seeing it on the telly going 'ooh, cat detective'. Boy oh boy was I wrong about that one, needless to say I watched the whole thing through and had nightmares for a few days. Now as an adult Im seriously considering watching it again to see if I can get more of a grasp of what was being handled in that whole film, I believe it had something to do with err..how to say it. Im sure everyone knows Adolf was trying to build the 'perfect' race? If I remember correctly it had something to do with that aswell in a way.

You literally see insides being ripped out, tests, etc etc (as spoken..its rated '12'..haha)

So if anyone wants to check that out, gl with it, hf, knock yourself out, movie name= Felidae.

For those talking about Monday's Adventure Time, all I'll say is this. Baby Lich is fucking adorable. But yeah, what happened with Finn and Prismo and now the Citadel and Finn's dad. This episode really dropped the ball. Like, we're going to get some sweet shit thanks to this episode.

WTF. I never saw Watership down, but this is just disturbing. I know cartoons were a bit more lenient content wise then, but drowning dogs? guys getting shotgunned in the face? Bit overboard.

On topic: Johnny Bravo. Think about it: main character is a guy who makes Arnie in his prime look like Urkel, is an excessive womanizer, and rather suspiciously hangs out with a 10 year old girl scout, despite being well into adulthood. Worrying, to say the least.

Also, 'Rugrats Go To Paris'. Up until this movie, I dont remember actually learning what happened to Chucky's mum - i was too young to consider it. Still, I connected the dots when Chucky end up LITERALLY SEEING HER IN THE CLOUDS, and the line "I want a mum that will last forever" was a big give away. Kind of made me worry what kind of trauma Chucky was dealing with - Hallucinations and Depression at what, age 1? Good thing he eventually got a good ending, i suppose.

EDIT: Was so shocked by 'The Plague Dogs', i went and found a link to the opening scene. It's basically water torture on dogs : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_lMZtLWJOs (not sure how to post it like others did).

I see someone's beaten me to the Mysterious Stranger. Pity. I had in mind another film, but it escaped such confines, and continues to elude me.

Tell you one thing, though. Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory's boat scene. Evidently, Gene was the only one in the cast that actually knew what was about to happen, the other actors (children included) had no preparation and no idea it was going to get so creepy.

I was just watching like:

"Yeah, Satan doesn't seem so bad..."

How disappointed I would be later on.
