The Culling

I've been playing this game lately, and although i enjoy it immensely i've noticed that some people are a bit quick off the mark to arm up. I spawned one game where i had enough rocks and sticks around me to make a bow. Ran to a building and a guy with a spear and back pack was bouncing around ready to go. I'm not crying shenanegans just yet, but it's enough to make me ask others if they've seen something similar.

Has anyone else noticed that some people arm up a bit quicker than their function creds should really allow? I get that some people will have mastered the game already, so if it's a gameplay thing i can at least learn it eventually.

I haven't personally played it (Honestly, I'll watch the shit out of it but I've got no desire to play it) but I've seen many streamers start a game, loot up for about two minutes then get mowed down by people with compound bows, guns and top tier melee weapons. I guess they just know how to play the system, to the point where it can seem unfair. I guess it's all about luck of the spawn and loot drops.

Spears are quite cheap to craft really, only 7 FUNC I think. There is also a perk to start off with a backpack(Personally I use this perk, it's quite handy). There's also an element of luck with people somehow getting decent gear in a crate right next to their spawn. I think some people have really nailed the crafting and recycling for func aspect too.

That is how you "play" survival games these days. Review the loot maps, keep your head down, only engage in 1-way fights. Now this can be good (Unturned) with skill-sets and fun gameplay, or a huge problem that limits the game (I don't even need to say it). It can be fun though, and the quick doses of stressful fun gameplay keeps you coming back.

Last night i spawned right beside a building with a knife, a backpack, and a man tracker. Any area for complaint disappeared right there. I've also noticed how some people insta-suicide, i guess this must be people who have worked out the map and know they're goosed. Still enjoying the frack out of the game regardless of my high killed to kill ratio. Having the culling obsessives in the game makes it a bit more tense. I hope they develop it more in the future. It's a pretty decent multi player IMHO.
