Can't I be a free roaming militant zealot bent on handing out his own personal version of the Immaculate Law? I guess I'd be corrupt, in a sense, from the start, because I doubt I'd be very mainstream...TheIronRuler said:.ThreeWords said:Hmm, I like the sound of this. I wonder, could I play as a priest?
Actually.... Yes. But then you'd need to walk around with Stegosaurus.
And you will go become corrupt at some point... hopefully.
Cool, looks like we have a Badass Preacher onboard.ThreeWords said:Can't I be a free roaming militant zealot bent on handing out his own personal version of the Immaculate Law? Sorry man.
You could still be the Fiery Zealot priest type as mine is more of a Renaissance Researcher.ThreeWords said:I forgot what short attention spans the young have. Never mind, anyhow; I don't mind competition, unless the GM wants a limit. Should that be the case, I suppose you did get there first.
Ah well, I'll finish up my sheet, then consider what I'll run for a replacement...
This...this is my character from another dimension. You even keep your sword in your robe. Remember, you are accused of witchcraft. At maximum there will be one other religious priest with me, and he can't be a copy :/Ed130 said:One Radical Priest.
Name: Gregory Clarke
Age/Gender: 32/male
Appearance (Picture = +10 points): Wearing a weatherworn Dominican monk robe (black cloak over a white habit) and a simple wooden cross necklace, Gregory isn?t built for frontline combat standing a little over 5 foot 7. Despite his travels he still possesses the pale skin gained from years of study. His hair is jet black and overgrown the traditional friar haircut, covering dark brown eyes.
Hidden items: pouch containing writing materials and notes.
Race: Human
Background: Gregory or ?Greg? as some have called him comes from an old family with close ties to the church. As the eldest son he was sent to the monasteries, continuing the tradition set long ago. Nothing much was expected of him, ?just serve the church as best you can? was his father?s parting words. Gregory didn?t think much of his family at the time and ignored the advice given. Spending several years in a remote Dominican monastery did little to improve his demeanour as was trained to be a scribe, learning about the world and the horrors it contained through scripture and books.
In the 23rd year of his life everything changed. His order was attacked by a large band of dark creatures, beings he had only seen in illustrations. The resulting battle was brutal with many monks and lay brothers falling before the attackers were driven off. As one of the few members uninjured Gregory was ordered to head to the nearest outpost to spread word of the horde. There he found a group of bounty hunters who had been tracking the horde but had stopped for the night. Upon hearing the news of the attack the group immediately set out into the hills and cliffs surrounding the monastery, dragging a protesting Gregory along. His protests were soon silenced as the bounty hunters proceeded to slaughter the beasts that had defiled his home.
Returning to the monastery deep in thought he came to a decision. He would serve the church, by helping to kill the darkness that dwells in the shadows. However in order to do so effectively, he would have to first know his enemy. Many of the books he had read about demons and their ilk were often full of contradictions on what they could and could not do. Now realising what his mission was, to create a definitive book to combating evil. Acquiring his abbot?s permission he set out into the world. Several years later he sits in a cell, accused of heresy by a particularly bombastic priest due to his notes about the binding of demonic energy.
Personality: As a cleric who was at one point training to become a scribe Gregory is skilled in both reading and writing in many languages, both mundane and arcane. This has led in turn to a ?bookish? personality, preferring to listen rather than talk, although when he does speak it is wise to listen. Ideology wise he still follows the saints, but is considered a renegade due to his belief that the forces of darkness should be studied for weaknesses and in rare cases turned against itself.
Weapons: Gladius short sword hidden in robes
One other skill, be it cooking, persuasion, licking things.:
Lore: Years of study has left Gregory with an encyclopaedic knowledge of many subjects pertaining to the occult.

Can I just have an inkling as to how your character would be different to humans physically? Otherwise, all good!JokerboyJordan said:-snip-

I just wanted to check something, you've noted that a werewolf's clothes rip when they change, I'm operating under the assumption that the same thing doesn't happen to a shapeshifter, is that true or not?
