"Alright, what do you want?" Clarkson said, taking another sip.

Roland glared at the peanut and the barkeep for a bit before replying.

"Oh nothing really. I thought I'd spend the evening among some pleasant company. But I couldn't find any so I ended up here with you," he quipped.

"This is someone who is loosely affiliated with the Ascended, and I can get you in contact with one of their Judges."

"Alright," Aktikin said as he wrote something down on a piece of paper, "We would like to speak to one of the Guardians about having one of your Ascended help us with a particular problem..."

Aktikin held a notepad which said, "Who does this number belong to?"

-Clarkson-

Clarkson glared at the bird.

"What are you REALLY here for?" Clarkson said, "I have dealt with enough @#(($%^* today. Get to the point or @#$^ OFF."

-John-

"ZZZZZZZZZZZZ."

John continued to snore, unawakened by the demon's presence. He had forgotten to set any defensive charms because he had been so exhausted.

Fromanzio

"...Really John? Sleeping on the job again? Unacceptable! And here Fromanzio went through all this hard work to make his return memorable!"

This sinply would not do. Fromanzio HATED being ignored almost as much as he hated forests. John was going to have to learn some manners. He briefly considered invading the poor human's dreams, but figured he had better things to do. Instead, Fromanzio uttered a small chant and his pointer finger turned into a sharpie marker.

"Teach you to ignore the most important demon on this plane!"

Fromanzio quickly drew all over John's face. The ink he used was demonic in origin so unless John had a powerful priest and plenty of holy water, these markings would last a few days before fading. The prominent feature of the drawing was a new unibrow along with some swirlys on his cheeks, "Fromanzio was here!!!" written on his forehead and a very small depiction of male genetalia drawn on his chin entering the bottom of his lips.

His masterpiece done, Fromanzio phased out of the room to return to Zaheer. He could talk to John later. "Sweet dreams! Hohohohueho!"

"Alright," Aktikin said as he wrote something down on a piece of paper, "We would like to speak to one of the Guardians about having one of your Ascended help us with a particular problem..."

Aktikin held a notepad which said, "Who does this number belong to?"

Aktikin's communications man frowned and scratched his head, the number routed seemingly endlessly across the world until it just started picking up symbols and letters he'd never seen before. He honestly had no idea who or what made the phone or network that was calling, the only response he could give his boss was a weak shrug

Richard's sister smiled in the closet-these people really did have no idea how separated the Ascended were from the rest of the magical society. "Well. The military arm of the Ascended is called the Legion, for one, and the Guardians are entirely a separate organization. We and the Ascended that are on Earth currently will however, happily aid you. [HEADING=2]Terra[/HEADING]

Between the relief of getting Richard back and the nearly 36 hours of constant worry before it, Terra was tired. She tried to stay awake, focusing on the conversation between Richard and Agent Richard, but about the time the the agent started asking about Guardians, she'd lost her ability to remain awake.

It returned to her briefly when another wizard - who's name escaped her - appeared in the room. She honestly wasn't even sure it was real.

She put her head on Ascended Richard's shoulder and fell into a deep, restful sleep. His shoulder made a great pillow.

[HEADING=2]Fiona[/HEADING]

About the same time, Fiona awoke in her bed, feeling well rested. She quickly arose and readied herself for the day. She brushed her teeth, took a show, dressed, and spent a few minutes in commune with the biosphere. All was good.

She made her way down to the lobby and into the little cafe within. She ordered some black coffee and a bagel, as she awaited the rest of the ragtag team to arrive.

They began to walk over to the dark cloud up in the sky. He felt Seras grabbing his hand with her armoured hand, and kiss him on the cheek. "No need to thank me Theon...I take it that this black cloud ahead is where that 'thing' lays in wait?" He kissed her back, and then nodded.

" That is indeed where we will find him. I can feel his anger and primal instinct trying to take control; he is much wilder and violent than any other werewolf I know." He said as they kept walking. He then looked at Seras again and asked, "Does your magic work here? We might need it for the fight ahead..."

"It should do Theon, remember that time I was inside your head after our seals were removed back at college? If I recall, I was throwing about a fireball or two to show how upset and angry I was with you at the time." Seras said as she returned the sword to its scabbard. She then brought her hands together and spoke something in a language that would be lost on Theon; all the while a glyph appeared beneath her. As Seras was done talking, her hands crackled with electrical energy and fired off a few blasts at the cages.

"Appears that everything is working." Seras said bluntly.

Theon looked impressed, magic had always interested him. "I see, I was just checking. Though your magic is impressive as always, it still surprises me every time I see it." He said smiling. He then started walking towards the black cloud, he wondered if his shape shifting still worked.

He lifted his arm, and began to change it. Large spikes began to grow from it, as the skin and color began to change. It looked more leather like, and the skin was black. He smiled as he moved it around; it seemed to work just fine.

"Thanks." Seras said with a brief smile. She noticed the large spikes that were growing from Theon's arm, along with his skin changing in texture and colour.

"You know Theon, I never really seen you as a full on werewolf before, so pardon me for saying that I'm actually kind of excited." Seras said with a slight hint of glee in her voice.

"Then again, you've never seen me act like a vampire before." She then added, feeling kind of embarrassed, her cheeks turning red slightly.

Theon looked back at Seras; he had indeed never seen her act like that. "I guess we haven't. But then again we mostly saw each other at school, and when we were hanging around in the city. Not really a place where we can show out true nature." He noticed she seemed to be a bit ashamed.

He smiled as he suddenly hugged her. " Though I would love to see you act like a vampire, I am sure that would be quite exciting." He then released her and stepped back. "Want to race there? Werewolf against Vampire?" He asked with a smile.

"Really? You'd find me acting like a vampire to be exciting? Maybe if I'm feeling a little bit desperate, and tired, then perhaps I'll take a drink." Seras remarked, feeling that better about the situation now, but still felt a little embarrassed. That feeling though quickly washed over when the thought of a race crossed her mind, as a blush was replaced with a smirk.

"As for a race. Well, there is more of a chance you'd beat me, seeing as though I'm in heavy armour, and you?re a big strong werewolf." Seras said, hoping the ego boost would do him a little bit of good.

Theon stretched out his arm, and shrugged. "Anytime you want a drink, you are free to my blood. I can boost my body to make more, so I don't mind as long as it is you. And yes it is a bit exiting to me at least; we both have a more 'animal side'."

And he smiled after getting the compliment."That is probably true, that armour seems quite heavy. Though I am not that sure, I mean I have seen how fast you were during your fights."

"Thank you for the offer Theon, I can always count on you to make me feel like I'm looked after. And your right about this armour, it does feel heavy, but you forget back in those fights, I was wearing what could pretty much describe as regular clothing. However, if it?s a race you want my darling, I'll be sure to give it my best shot, so long as you do the same; don't want you giving me an easy time just because I'm your girlfriend." Seras remarked with a smirk as she prepared herself.

Theon smiled at Seras. "Well you did come into here to help me. You are very good at making me feel look after as well. And the race just sounded like fun to me, and it will be a good warm up for the fight." His arms began to change, and so did the rest of his body. He quickly changed into something, which looked like a big dire wolf. "Just say when you are ready." He said, his voice sounding heavier and wilder.

"Indeed it will be fun, but what?s wrong with adding a bit of healthy competition into the mix?" Seras asked rhetorically as she began to stretch to help limber her up. It had been a long while since she had been in a race, but that didn't mean she hadn't kept herself in shape. She stretched each of her arms in turn before doing some basic aerobics, and she actually thought it looked kind of funny seeing someone exercise in full armour.

During her brief workout session, she noticed that Theon was changing into something that looked like a large wolf of some sort. Seeing him like this reminded her of the family husky Fenris. Good thing Helena agreed to look after him whilst most of the family was away. Seras wondered what the Gorgon was up to these days; she'd have to phone her up sometime. Feeling herself all prepared, Seras turned to Theon.

"Ready."

Theon looked around, there seemed to be a forest in between them and the cloud. He then gazed over at Seras, who seemed to be stretching. He began to stretch his legs a bit too, while watching her from the corner of his eyes. When she said ready he got into position and counted down, "3...2...1...GO!"

And he was gone; his wolf shape reacted much faster than his human form ever could. He could feel the wet ground beneath his paws... " Wait wet ground? Since when does is rain in here? " He pondered for a second, before shaking his head. He was in a race now, he would think about that later.

The moment Theon said "...GO!" Seras could see him racing on ahead, and strived to catch up with him, though with Theon in his wolf form, it meant he could run faster. She soon arrived in a forest and came across patches of wet, muddy ground, which caused her to slow down, a bit, and even sink in places. Seras overcame this by summoning a vine whip to help pull her out of the paths of muddy ground that looked deeper than the others. Seras could see that Theon was only a short distance ahead of her, so she tried to catch up.

Theon was running at a quite high pace. He turned his head to see no one behind him; he was confused as he wondered where Seras had gone. But then she suddenly landed close to him, seemingly appearing out of nowhere. Theon was startled, which allowed her to take the lead. He smiled as he began to chase her. He wouldn't lose that easily, he began running even faster trying to take the lead again.

Seras could see that Theon had fallen slightly behind thanks to her sudden reappearance, though he soon began to pick up speed again. She smiled at him as the two were almost neck and neck as they continued on through the forest, with Seras having to dodge and weave past the branches that were too low for her to simply run under.

"You know Theon, this has actually been rather fun. Perhaps when we're in the real world, we can have another race sometime?"

Theon began to slowly catch up to Seras; his tongue was hanging out of his mouth. He was panting loudly in, he was clearly having fun. She then spoke, and he agreed with her. "It is indeed quite a lot of fun. We need to show each other our more primal sides, which could be a lot of fun." He was smiling as he kept running; a strange fog was appearing in the distance.

"I guess it would Theon. Perhaps later tonight when we're back in the hotel, we could show our more animalistic side, if you catch my drift." Seras remarked with a seductive wink as they passed on through the forest, with its edge coming ever closer with each step. She soon noticed a thick grey coloured fog appearing far off into the distance. Seras also noticed that Theon's tongue was hanging out of his mouth; he must be either be getting tired, enjoying himself too much, or both.

"So, what do you think is in that fog ahead?" Seras asked, pointing to the fog in question.

Seras responded, and winked seductively at Theon. He turned a completely red, and was just able to dodge a tree which suddenly appeared in front of him. He then looked at the fog, and said, "The fog up ahead is where he is, he is somewhere beyond that... It like a wound inside my brain, the fog tries to keep it in. The fog is what is left of the seals which were removed a while ago. Are you ready Seras?" He asked stopping just before the mist, he looked worried but also determined.

"Interesting, so this is what the seals looked line on the inside. Wonder if there are fragments of the seal left inside of me." Seras asked rhetorically as they reached the forest's edge, and stared out into the mist beyond. She took this brief reprieve to rest her back against one of the trees, even finding time to take off her helmet for a moment. As Seras looked at Theon, she saw a looked of both worry, but also determined to see this through.

"Do you mind Theon if we stopped and rested for a moment first? I know you want to get this thing out of the way... but surely even you are tired from that run."

Theon nodded, he slowly stood up back on his two feet. His body began to change back to his previous wolf form. "There might be some fragments left, but without something to seal off they won't activate. And sure rest as long as you like Seras, we need to be prepared when we face him." He leaned back against a tree; he began thinking of what weapons he should use.

"Maybe we should talk about our battle plan.. I don't really have any experience. But we should probably discuss what we do, so we don't get in each others way." He said looking at Seras, a small smile revealing how grateful he was that she was here to help him.

"Indeed we should discuss our strategy, a single step in the wrong place, and we'll either end up crashing into each other, or possibly give our enemy the perfect chance to strike." Seras said as she laid her helmet on the ground, and began to think for a few moments, before an idea came into her head.

"Theon, with this Alpha Wolf we will be fighting, does he have any abilities that we should be wary about? Is there anything else you might know which could help us? After all, this is a part of you we're battling against here."

Theon glanced over at the mist. It only now hit him how real this was this thing could very well kill them. Though it would probably only affect him, which was something of a relief. "Well Alpha Werewolves are basically very strong werewolves. They regenerate slowly are very fierce, fast, and strong and follow their instincts."

He thought about his father, and the things he had told him. "Pain and fear are emotions they mostly ignore. He will probably focus on attacking, as his instinct guide him. And if we are very unlucky, he might have access to my shape shift powers." He said looking down at his hands; he really hoped he couldn't access them.

Seras began to think over what Theon had told her about the Alpha. "Hmm, if it?s at all possible, we could maybe try and slow him down somewhat; perhaps lure him into the forest where we are at now, all those trees will mean he'll have to stop and make the turns to avoid them, or do you think he'll expect us trying to get him in there?" She asked as possible strategies seeped into her head.

"Another thing, out of the two of us, which one will he most likely go for? And would he know of what I am capable of?" Theon seemed to think it over. "We could try to lure him out of the mist... But we probably can't. I think it is a one way ticket, we either win or lose. And he has no clue what you are capable off, he doesn't even know your name." He said pushing himself of the tree.

"And he will go after me, no doubt about it. He wants to fight me for dominance, which means I am his opponent. Though he will go after you too, once he sees what you can do." He began to reshape his right arm, it turned into a giant blade. "No.." He changed his arm back.

"Well that is a little depressing. I guess for what little time we have; I can always try and use the element of surprise; as he probably didn't expect you having help alongside you." She said, her face quickly gaining a smile.

"Rest assured Theon, we are going to go in there, and we are going to win. I have a good feeling that fate favours us this day." Seras then stood up, picking up her helmet along the way, and putting it back on. She then hugged Theon for a moment before letting go.

"If you're ready Theon lets go in there and finish this."

"I can't put into words how grateful I am that you are here Seras. And I am ready to face him." He said walking over to the mist.

His right arm seems to grow, it became much more muscled and the hairs on it turned darker. He turned his head and smiled at Seras. "Let's go kick some ass." He then stepped through the mist.

After taking a deep breath to help concentrate, Seras soon enters the mist after Theon.

Both the lovers appeared at the other side of the mist. There was a ruined city on the other side, all kinds of buildings damaged and over grown. "So, the coward finally shows his face?" A voice said mockingly. He looked up to see the werewolf standing on top of one of the buildings.

He was almost twice as big as Theon, and much more muscled. "I have come to defeat you, once and for all." He said, the werewolf laughed in response. "I was thinking the same thing, let's go!" He charged at Theon, completely ignoring Seras.

Seras was visibly angered by the werewolf when he called Theon a coward, she knew that he wasn't. The moment that the werewolf leapt from the building and began to charge Theon, Seras pulled out her sword and stood in front of Theon, all the while chanting a spell that caused an ice like mist to form on her sword. She then plunged the frozen blade into the ground, and watched as it turned into solid ice.

"We might want to get out of the way Theon."

Seras suddenly took a stance in front of Theon, she then began chanting. He meanwhile began calling out to the alpha, hoping to distract him."Is that all it takes to be called an Alpha? HA! I have seen pups run faster than you!" He shouted sounding arrogant, the alpha grinned and started running even faster. She then plunged her sword into the ground, and turned the floor to ice.

"Yes that is a good idea. " He said to her as he jumped back, and kept taunting the alpha.

The alpha seemed to have lost sight of Seras, his eyes turned red and his smile grew. He then stepped onto the ice, and his eyes widened in surprise. He slipped and crashed onto the floor, yelping in surprise. Theon grinned as he charged at the werewolf, and then jumped lifting his giant arm.

Despite not being the focus of this attack, Seras made sure to dodge roll away from the incoming alpha werewolf as it skidded along the ice, crashing into a nearby wall and howling in what she presumed was pain. Seras kept her sword in hand in case the wolf made a retaliation move as she began to approach Theon, who was lifting his giant arm, poised to strike.

The alpha shook his head, still clearly dazed from the impact. Theon meanwhile attacked, using his giant arm as a weapon. He slammed it down into the Alpha's stomach, who gasped for air from the impact. But before Theon was able to make another move, the alpha kicked him off and tried to stand up.

Seras watched as Theon slammed down onto the Alpha's stomach, which winded him. But before he could strike again, Theon was kicked off the body, and the Alpha tried standing up. Seras went around behind and slashed at the Alpha's legs, and then rushed over to help Theon.

The Alpha screamed, angry and surprised by Seras's attack. He turned around to Seras, his eyes filled with hatred. He attacked with both his claws at her, aiming to pierce her with his claws. Theon meanwhile stood up from the hit. He turned his hand into a sword and ran at the Alpha.

Seras began to block the oncoming flurry of claw swipes from the deranged werewolf with all her might. She began to throw small blasts of fire at the Alpha, hoping it could push him back, but to no avail. Meanwhile she could see Theon racing up behind them, with his hand reformed into a blade. A small smile escaped her lips.

Theon saw Seras fighting against the alpha, she seemed to have blocked all of his attack. He raised his sword arm, and pierced the alpha. The sword appeared on the other side, as blood began to pour out. Theon laughed it was finally over!

The alpha grinned and said. "Is that all you got pup?" Theon looked at him dumbfound, the alpha then quickly span on his heels. And threw Theon against Seras, as the sword slipped out of the wound.

Seras quickly felt the full impact of Theon colliding into her, which sent her crashing into the ground. Her sword flew out from her hands and was embedded into the ground. She managed to push Theon off of her and stand up, although she was busy stumbling about for a moment. Seras then helped Theon up, dragging him up by the arms, which proved difficult at first, but her determination appeared to bring out a surge of strength from within.

"Theon, can you hear me? Are you alright?"

Theon was thrown against Seras, he was dazed and was then shoved off of her. He tried to stand up, but he was too dazed to get up. He was then pulled up by Seras, who seemed worried. "Yeah I can hear you, I am fine Seras.. Thanks." He turned to face the bleeding werewolf.

"Ready for round two whelps?" He asked grinning. Theon looked at the wound, it was healing slowly but he was clearly weakened. "Seras I will attack him, try to get your sword back." He whispered before charging at the Alpha.

She silently nodded in response to the request as Seras saw Theon charge towards the Alpha. Seras discovered that her sword was only a short distance away from where they landed on top of one another, so she quickly ran over to try and pull the blade free. It appeared as though the sword had landed with some force, as it was buried quite deeply, almost to the handle. This could take a little while, so she started pulling immediately.

Theon tried to punch the werewolf, but it was blocked by the grinning Alpha. He grabbed Theon's wrist, and pulled him forward pulling him of balance. He turned Theon's hand, and smashed him into the ground. Theon retaliated, by kicking him in his face.

The Alpha stepped back, and Theon jumped back up. He growled ad the alpha and then charged, and slashed the Alpha's arm open. Who jumped back and also growled, they began to circle each other growling and trying to look intimidating.

Seras continued to pull at the sword, each time it becoming a little bit looser, though she could see herself sweating; despite this being only in a mental realm, this had been the most she had been physically pushing herself for a while. Not that she was out of shape in the real world mind you. Ever since graduation, she had been keeping herself fit with runs which lasted an hour and more each day. Occasionally Theon would join her, as it gave them the chance to be better acquainted with one another.

Eventually, with a last minute exertion, the sword had been pulled free, which had almost toppled her over. Seeing how dirty it had became, Seras quickly washed it with a water spell. Giving it a few swings to help dry it off, she began walking towards the showdown between Theon and the Alpha.

The two werewolves jumped at each other, their claws and teeth sinking into each others flesh. They began to roll around, hitting, clawing and biting everything that they could. They both began to bleed from all kinds of wounds, though the taste of blood and the pain made them even more violent. Eventually Theon managed to grab the alpha by the neck, he planted his teeth into his neck and began to bite.

Blood spew from the wound, as the alpha was trying to push him off. He eventually succeeded, and Theon was thrown off. He stood back up his mouth filled with blood and flesh. The alpha stood up, blood gushing from his neck. Both werewolves were covered in blood, scratches and bruises. Theon felt his instincts slowly taking over, he would win no matter what!

Seras stood and watched with anguish as both Theon and the Alpha were biting and clawing at the other, and blood began to flow. She couldn't stand idly by and watch Theon become more and more injured. Focusing her magic in one hand, she casted a fire spell, with the intent to punch the Alpha werewolf. Seras then charged at the Alpha, striking with her sword first, and then punching him with her fiery fist. Before she could get caught up, Seras slashed at the Alpha's back.

The alpha was caught off guard, and the sword and punch confused him even more. He grabbed forward, but Seras side stepped and opened a large cut on his back. The alpha werewolf turned around, and tried to grab Seras again.

But Theon jumped on his back, and planted his teeth deep into his skin.He dropped himself, dragging the alpha to the ground. He tried to get Theon off of him, but he just kept biting away at his neck. A puddle of blood slowly beginning to form around him.

Seras narrowly avoided being grabbed by the Alpha, but fell back onto a nearby wall. She could see that Theon was tearing into the Alpha, and noticed the increasingly growing pool of blood that was forming. Regaining her balance she stood up and called to Theon.

"Theon, can't you see he is pretty beaten up, and will no doubt perish soon. If you have any form of warrior's honour, you'll give him a more dignified death; lest you turn into the beast that he himself is."

Theon looked surprised at Seras, he stopped biting and released the Alpha. He was breathing heavily, and still trying to stand up. Theon stood up, and looked at Seras. "I am sorry... I will finish it now." He looked down at the alpha, and changed his hand into an axe. He lifted his arm, and with one swoop decapitated the alpha.

He then stared at the alpha, while the mist around them slowly evaporated. "Thank Seras." He said slowly changing back to his human form, his clothes appearing out of nowhere. "Let's go." He said as he kissed Seras on the cheek and smiled. He then opened his eyes in the real world, and was happy to see Seras looking at him.

As the mist around them faded, Seras opened her eyes to see that they were finally back in the hospital, and saw that Theon was staring right back at them, letting a smile escape her lips as she kissed him on the forehead. After both of them helped the other up, Seras looked around to see what had happened; and noticed that Richard was somehow awake, and talking to the agent from before. She lightly coughed to signify her presence.

"Richard! Its good to see that your back from the land of the dead. Myself and Theon here dropped by earlier to see how Terra was, and we're glad to see that your alive. Both of us were worried about you after the plane." Seras said with a smile as she had one arm around Theon, helping to support him.

"What are you REALLY here for? I have dealt with enough @#(($%^* today. Get to the point or @#$^ OFF."

"Jeez, calm down. No need to get all grouchy. It's not your fault you're not very good company," Roland said and would have grinned if he could.

"Like I said, I don't want anything. Although..." The bird thought for a moment, cocking his head to the side and looking at Clarkson. "I wouldn't mind if you told me what the PIA was."

"Well. The military arm of the Ascended is called the Legion, for one, and the Guardians are entirely a separate organization. We and the Ascended that are on Earth currently will however, happily aid you. What do you need done?"

Aktikin slapped his forehead, both at the shrug and his own mistake.

"We are dealing with a vary dangerous Lich. She has killed every team we sent to contain her, and we cannot locate her... her... phylactery. We have..."

Aktikin checked his pad on the data for the Azehla case.

"... discovered she is also raising an undead army. We were offering one of your, by the name of Richard, people to help us when he gave us this number and routed us to you."

-Clarkson-

Clarkson spit out his drink, as the barkeep suddenly started to throw the other two people out of the bar.

"How did you... you listened with our conversation with the Lich..." Clarkson banged his head on the bar. He had animestics to wipe a person's mind clean of all memories of the last 24 hours, however he did not know what doses to give a creature weighing a few ounces, or if it would work on a birds biology at all. Killing the bird was also out of the question. John seemed to like it, seemed to made a deal with it behind his back, and if nothing else it was an interesting case study for the lab boys.

"Paranormal Investigation Agency," Clarkson admitted, "Joint US, EU effort to understand and interact with the paranormal. We pull people from various departments such as the FBI and MI6. When things go bump in the night, we are also the ones who contain the situation and fight whatever is causing the problem. Most of us are humans, some of us are magic users, like John. However, many supernatural creatures don't like humans attempting to understand them, so we are highly classified. Ask any more, and I will have to kill you."

Admittedly, all of what Clarkson said was true, technically, but had left out a LOT of details.

"... discovered she is also raising an undead army. We were offering one of your, by the name of Richard, people to help us when he gave us this number and routed us to you."

Teresa nodded "We work together independently. You shall get Guardian assistance, and Richard is the leader of those few Ascended on earth. Anything else?"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Richard smiled at Terra and held her close, glancing up to Zaheer "Hey there, no need to be impolite, it's not as if I like their sense of privacy either. Basically, our... 'employers' know nothing, but if we destroy the problem, they'll give us supervised access to it's archives and such. And keep us in mind for later when they have opportunity, or something. The Human behind you that you've made groan is our contact. There ya go, now you know what everybody else does, no, they've got nothing on her phylactery, all we know is that she has an army, and we're supposed to help out with that and get her if we can." Richard laid back in his hospital bed, letting Terra continue to use him as a pillow "Any questions?"
Zaheer shook his head. "The Faction is wasting my time with this. Trying my patience, mocking me. If they didn't put up a down payment Fromanzio would be my dedicated face-man." Zaheer sighed and calmed himself. "We are going to lay waste to the army. It won't take long, I already have spies inside it. After that, we wound the Lich and I seal her." Zaheer pulled out a small tobacco can that read on the front in blazing text "Chewie'sBacco, For Chewin On the Go!". Inside was dank, slightly moldy and smelly. There was of course a better canister but Zaheer had a mind for the classical. The Jinn he employed were deathly afraid of lamps so tobacco was the next best thing.
"This will be her home for the next few million years. I made it so it won't simply rust away and where I intend to bury it, I doubt anyone is finding it soon." In secret, Zaheer's actual plan was to go inside and beat her into submission. A Lich under his employ would give him an edge. He was curious how resistant to torture she would be. Breaking her would take him a step closer to gaining even more power.
Richard finally looked to Seras "Thanks. It's good to see you are both okay, sorry for the rough landing. I forgot to carry a one." Richard sighed "I would love to catch up, but these two are rather occupying my time, how about I find you later and we all go for some coffee or lunch?"
Looking back at Zaheer, he shrugged "I don't care what you do with the Lich herself, that's the territory of the man behind you, I just want London to be relatively unharmed. Try to limit your summons to the size of a house."
"Thanks. It's good to see you are both okay, sorry for the rough landing. I forgot to carry a one." Richard said as he finally had time to look at Seras, he then stopped to sigh quietly to himself for a moment before continuing. "I would love to catch up, but these two are rather occupying my time, how about I find you later and we all go for some coffee or lunch?" He then asked.
"Don't sweat it Richard, you've already done more than enough. I actually didn't find it all that rough, guess the seats were more comfortable than I first thought." Seras remarked, giving the wizard a smile. "Thinking about it though Richard, we'll be having breakfast over at The Ritz hotel at around 7:30; due to Lucius wanting to continue the meeting that was started yesterday. So how about the four of us catch up then? That is if your fit and able to do so."
Richard smiled back to Seras "I'll be there, excluding some apocalyptic intervention. Don't worry about me, I could land another plane already."
"Fair enough Richard, you certainly have done good this day, no doubt Terra is proud of you." Seras said, before letting out a loud yawn, to which she covered her mouth.
"Excuse me, this past day has certainly been a tiring one. So if you don't mind, me and Theon are probably going to head back to the hotel to get some sleep; even if it is just for a couple of hours. If you could Richard, tell Terra I said goodbye for me, I can see she is enjoying a bit of shut eye herself. Goodbye everyone. Let's go Theon." Seras said as she and Theon walked out of the Hospital, ignoring the rumblings that her stomach was making.
"Food can wait for another couple of hours." Seras told herself as they soon got into a taxi, and arrived back at the Royal Garden Hotel. She shambled into the room, taking off her coat and bag, hanging them up nearby. She then set the alarm clock next to the bed for around 7:00 before collapsing onto the bed, falling asleep almost instantly.
The Ancient One talked with The Roman, The Seer, and The Arbitrator about what she could do to help, all while keeping her eye on the situation in the Italian alps, specifically Wagner. Cichol and Dr'az where of little concern to her, but Wagner? She'd been the one to imprison him in the first place, and she knew if he got free she'd have to step in.
---The Italian Alps---
As the PIA landed they where greeted by the arrival of three dragons from the Inquisition, an Iron, a Copper and a Bronze. the trio landed, switched to they're human forms and approached the man that looked to be in charge. "Welcome to the Italian Alps, I'm Inquisitor Theodor" the Iron said, the Bronze introduced her self as Angela and the Copper as Jakob "We've been dispatched by our section leaders to brief your people on the current situation, also, the Elder of the Gold Brood, Zal'Teer, requests your presence once your situated so we can begin discussing re-enforcement of the seals" Angela added.
Agent Alberto looked at the dragons through his mask. "Ma'am, I am not..."
"Your looking for me," Director Bowl said in a thick German accent as she stepped down from her personal helicopter transport. The over weight middle aged woman completely covered in a snow suit and breathing out of an oxygen tank looked very out of place with a the group of tall men women, and no so tall goblins (barring those in the mechs), but still maintained an intimidating presence, "Lead us to where the seal is and to Zal'Teer, we can 'settle in', very quickly."
As she spoke, supplies where being taken out of the helicopters, tents were being pitched, and the foundations for a few longer term builders were being placed. Of the about 120 agents who had already landed, most of them were obviously regular humans in thick winter clothing with various assault rifles of European countries, a few of the having swords on their sides. The next largest group were of goblins, about half the size of the humans, carrying around MP5s who were setting up AA guns and other defenses, although some of them were in robotic suites that were doing most of the heavy lifting. There were other races as well, a few dwarves, a nymph, three ogres, a guerilla, and two yetis.
The magic users were fairly easy to spot in the group. Sally the witch was levitating crates, Collins the wizard was helping bring up a lighting rod on the edge of camp, Qi master Bai Zhi was easily carrying triple what any other human was able to while only wearing a basic robe, a Voodoo practitioner Astryd was leading some crates labelled with various animals to a station, an African Shaman was standing ram rod stiff on the edge of camp to get the feeling of the nature around him, the alchemist Lukas was setting up his chemical lab, and finally a shadow manipulator was pitching several tents at once.
"We work together independently. You shall get Guardian assistance, and Richard is the leader of those few Ascended on earth. Anything else?"
Akitkin thought for a second, deciding that he didn't have time to ask the 13 about this potential alliance.
"My organization has had many issues setting up a permanent means of communicating with the high levels of the Ascended," Akitkin said, "The only thing close is the sperratic meetings with the Roman, hardly a consistent means to do business or create stable diplomatic relations between our people."
In frustration, the communication expert had set the computer to hunt through every phone number on computer record till he found a match. Even with the room sized computer they have in base, it would take hours to go through every single one of them, and then he would personally have to go through all the repeats there will invariably be.
"You'd have to talk to Richard about that one; the Roman wouldn't listen to the Guardians half as much as he listens to you guys."
Theon was kissed on his forehead by Seras, he suddenly felt very tired. The mental battle had exhausted him much more then he had anticipated, it was almost like he had exercised for hours. He stood up, and was help and helped Seras up. "Richard! Its good to see that your back from the land of the dead...Both of us were worried about you after the plane." Theon looked at the room, he was happy to see Richard awake. He also felt Seras' arm holding him, he smiled at her.
"Thanks...we all go for some coffee or lunch?" Lunch? Theon looked outside, he had lost his track of time. Seras then said, "Don't sweat it Richard, you've already done more than enough...So how about the four of us catch up then? That is if your fit and able to do so." Theon looked at Richard and smiled at him, he began to have a hard time keeping his eyes open.
"Excuse me, this past day has certainly been a tiring one...Let's go Theon." Seras said, and then began to head towards the exit. Theon felt himself slowly falling into sleep, it took him all his strength to stay awake. Seras helped him into a taxi. They soon arrived at the hotel, and went up to there room and got into bed. Theon fell asleep within seconds, unable to stay awake any longer.
"Sorry, I just got the urge to go on a little walk. Bad dreams." Pegs said as she looked out the window, "Feels like something's coming, doesn't it?" she then added.
Lucia nodded "I under stand the need for a walk to shake off the bad dreams" she commented as she invited Pegs in "What ever makes you think somethings coming? All the dragons in town? The fact a government agency is pulling recruits off the street to deal with something they should be able to handle on their own" Lucia asked jokingly as she sat down. "But yeah, there's definitely something hanging in the air"
"Lead us to where the seal is and to Zal'Teer, we can 'settle in', very quickly."
"Very well then, follow me" Angela said as she walked toward the nearest clear spot and change back to her dragon form and took to the air. The other two followed suit, and the trio waited for the Director to get in her chopper before getting to far away.
A short flight later the group arrived at The Inquisitions main base camp, which was nestled between the seals for Dr'az and Wagner. The camp it self was similar to the PIA's camp, in that it had a mix of magical and non-magical instruments for various purposes, not the least of which was generation heat, the main differences where all the dragons walking around in their dragon forms. "You'll have to forgive all the 'dragons', we pulled help directly from Jade and are less inclined to use a human form then those of us stationed on Earth" Theodor said as the headed to Zal'Teer's tent.
"You are certain?*sigh*This does not bode well then..." A Gold Dragon said to a Bronze and another Gold as Angela and the Director approached, Jakob and Theodor having had broken off to return to their groups "Elder, I present Director Bowl of the PIA as requested" Zal'Teer turned to the pair, and nodded "Welcome Director Bowl, I am Zal'Teel member of the High Counsel of Jade and Elder of the Gold Brood. The Princess sends her apology's for not being here her self, but she is busy preparing for the High Counsel's visit to the UN for the vote." he said as he motioned Director Bowl closer to the image before then. it was a projection of the seals holding the three dragons "Would you like the good news, or the bad news first?" The Dragon Elder asked as Angela excused her self to return to her other duty's
Pegs laughed. Why was that she always sounded so stupid? She hovered over and sat down on a chair. As far as hotel room when, this one looked okay. Not the glamour of the Ritz, but not the pits either. She sighed, that one thing with the Lich was going to haunt her wasn't it? She hated going against her word, even if it was for a free place to stay. Pegs responded, reflecting on previous events, "I wonder what the other people who were on the plane are doing. Something like that... You don't just walk away from."
