Well, some people liked March of Chaos, most Warhammer fans hated it....I like WAR and Waaagh. Don't presume so much of the fanbase.
The basic Fantasy MMO doesn't let you build your own cities and empires, own houses and guild halls, build and sail a ship big enough for an entire guild, run your own trading caravan company, lay Shadow Bane styled epic seiges, develope your character however you want without a restrictive leveling system, or kill anyone anywhere at any time and take their stuff.Frankly, I don't see whats so "revolutionary" about Darkfall, it seems like a refinement of the basic fantasy MMO, complete with genero-matic backstory. You just get some neat passive abilities.
I find your arrogance offputting. Probably wouldn't be a good guild to roll with.Valentine82 said:Well, some people liked March of Chaos, most Warhammer fans hated it....I like WAR and Waaagh. Don't presume so much of the fanbase.

No, Darkfall is the most ambitious MMO ever made. It's graphics aren't the most fantastic and look a bit like DAoC which is all I would expect a Warhammer Online fan to notice, but in terms of design and gameplay it's truly revolutionary.
Statement stands. I didn't say it looked bad, just not revolutionary.TsunamiWombat said:...I like WAR and Waaagh. Don't presume so much of the fanbase.

Sorry I meant fluffwise and in physical strength, or course that's only in some books. Others state that Orks are ultra weak, but without their strength they haven't got much going for them (aside from numbers)Crazzee said:In 40K an ORDINARY Ork(I'm talkin' Boyz here) has one wound, and you need to roll a 2-3 to hit pretty much every time. Design snatched straight from the jaws of oblivion and warhammer itself? And gameplay wise, what is so revolutionary?Valentine82 said:Well, some people liked March of Chaos, most Warhammer fans hated it....I like WAR and Waaagh. Don't presume so much of the fanbase.

Sorry, but what do you mean by "fluff"? A term I've yet to hear...Neosage said:Sorry I meant fluffwise and in physical strength, or course that's only in some books. The books and fictiony stuff. Like the way a space marine could kill 100 men or something but in the actual game he could barely take on 5. But I don't play 40k much, I only use Orcs in fantasy.Crazzee said:Sorry, but what do you mean by "fluff"? But yeah, Orks are all about flooding. The only parts of their army that aren't are the helicopter guys(I forgot the names of them) and the Warbosses.
Also, there are tank things that I'm pretty sure aren't about flooding, but I'm just talking about units, not vehicles right now. =P
My friends pretty much forced me into 40K, I wanted to do fantasy, but they assured me that it would be much easier to find a game to play in 40K, especially because they all played it.Neosage said:The books and fictiony stuff. Well the average orc is stronger than the average human by 1 point the same with toughness, they have less initiative though and less leadership. I started with 40k (Dark Angels) but fantasy is alot easier and the armies have ranks aswell. Orcs use golblins aswell which are extremly cheap and you can just flood with them, Greenskins the spells goblins get are also amazing. Though if your guys loose the combat unless they are near a general your kind of screwed, Black Orcs are pretty insane aswell.Crazzee said:My friends pretty much forced me into 40K, I wanted to do fantasy, but they assured me that it would be much easier to find a game to play in 40K, especially because they all played it.Neosage said:The books and fictiony stuff. So how do the Orcs in Fantasy work, then?
Seriously, have you seen any footage of the game? The stuff we have seen so far is nothing short of abysmal in terms of gameplay, design, graphics and sound. Really sub-par.Valentine82 said:Well, some people liked March of Chaos, most Warhammer fans hated it....I like WAR and Waaagh. Don't presume so much of the fanbase.
