After owning an Xbox and Xbox 360 I've decided to buy a PS4 for this generation. The blueness of everything is going to take some getting used to though.
PC is a very strong choice depending on your gaming habits. The main thing to know is that you are making an investment of both time and money for a bigger pay off down the road. That investment wont be worth it unless you take advantage of what a PC offers.tippy2k2 said:![]()
Hell, there's a chance that I'll....*SIGH....go PC. That's the least likely choice but unlike years past, it's a choice that I am open to this generation as neither consoles have done anything to impress me.

Having been both a PC and console gamer for the entirety of the time I've bought and played games, I gotta say I never understood the sentiment that you should have to choose between console OR PC, or that being a PC gamer requires an "investment" of money. Of course, without investment you're compromising on graphical fidelity, but after years of gaming on a mediocre PC you come to terms with what kind of performance you expect from your machine.DrOswald said:PC is a very strong choice depending on your gaming habits. The investment is not just in hardware. You have to learn quite a bit, and for an optimal PC gaming experience you need to keep on learning pretty much forever. That is invested time. And PC gaming is more expensive up front than console, there is no doubt about that. Even a cheap gaming PC is more than a console.lepito said:tippy2k2 said:Hell, there's a chance that I'll....*SIGH....go PC. I was capturing that strange feeling of treachery that I felt while switching brand and recording that feeling via a post on an internet forum. It might not lead to a long discussion, but then not every thread is destined to reach double digits.Hairless Mammoth said:Traitor!!
But seriously, what is this discussion about? Why did you switch? Or did you want to ask others if and why they switched?
You might want to ask some questions to get the thread rolling, otherwise the mods will lock it (or bring out the wheel of torment) since right now it's just a statement with little discussion value.
Sorry, if I came off as rude. (The traitor thing was a joke.) I just didn't want a fellow forum user getting his thread locked just because, to me, it didn't seem to have a clear direction to go, and that it might incur the mod wrath. Now that I have a good sense of what to talk about, I'll add some on topic words:Breakdown said:I was capturing that strange feeling of treachery that I felt while switching brand and recording that feeling via a post on an internet forum. My reply was probably a bit sarcastic, but in hindsight this thread does feel a bit pointless.Hairless Mammoth said:Sorry, if I came off as rude. (The traitor thing was a joke.) No one should feel like they are a traitor to a brand. The brands should be aware of the possibility of betraying their customers. *cough* online DRM such as Sim City 2013, pre-release Xbone, lots of Ubi titles *cough*
I, myself, have decided not to get anything beyond a Wii U this generation, until some major price drops happen. I was overall disappointed in all three consoles I owned from last gen, and this gen doesn't look like it's worth investing about $400 per box, either. I'm gonna wait, while playing what my aging PC can run (which is sadly a lot), some last gen thing I'm catching up on, and interesting Wii U things. The Wii U doesn't even have much that interests me, but it at least does have a few things.
