As you might have noticed since 3-D Realms shut down, there has been a lot of buzz about the Duke across the internet recently.

None more so than this piece of information. It is the entire plot and gameplay synopsis of Duke Nukem Forever. Every level is decribed, as are the new gameplay elements that appear level-by-level; bosses; regular enemy introductions and finally, the new weapons that Duke is endowed with in each level.

Obviously, it contains a lot of spoilers. But this latest piece of internet gold makes it seem even more likely that DNF will never see the light of day.

(click on the link image suivant at the top of the table to see the rest of the levels in the game, there are more than just 5)

Are they really spoilers if the game will never be released?

Still game looked like it could have been fun, not really worth the 13 years of development though.

So...all this waiting for something that might not come to pass. Which is too bad, since Duke was awesome.

I'm not sure if I should click that link...

That actually looks pretty good. all the screenshots are detailed. and the percentage completed in high. Its a shame they will get no money back for all this work. Maybe another studio will snap up their work on the cheap and finish it off and make loadsa money of it. Obviously this would be morally questionable to leave all these people on the street and make money off their work. So EA, probably.

If anyone does pick up the license, I hope they won't be using this game structure. It sounds like a blast, but like you said, it's way too morally questionable.

I added up all the percentages complete for each of the levels and divide by the number of levels and got.

60.8%

Which means that since it has taken 12 years to get this far then to get to 100% they would need to spend another 7.7 years to finish it.

My god... someone recover the ball and run with it! The end-zone is full of money and porn!

We've been waiting too long... far too long... we need Duke!

I'd be prepared to wait that long for it, to be honest. The plot sounds like a lot of fun.

The date of all the events in this plotline naturally being "April 1st"...
