The E3 Conferences: What did you think about all of them?

The Modern Warfare 2 demo was amazing. I'm completely addicted to COD4 now, so it's a no-brainer that would be my favorite part of the show.

Halo ODST looks a little better than I thought it would, and I'm psyched to get a beta invitation to what appears to be the "Prequel" to the Halo Trilogy (and not just a lame side-story not involving Spartans... honestly who cares about that?).

Natal was really cool, but I'm not sure it will work as well as they made it seem. Not many hardcore gamers would be interested in that type of controls I imagine. I know I wouldn't. Even the Wii motion control is foreign and stupid if you ask me.

Their show is going to be Left 4 Dead 2 show off. Some Steam crap that will take a year to fully work. Official SDK/new server browser for L4D and some HL2:Ep3 screenshots.

Oh and the new Source update.

Finally..Valve when the hell are you going to release a proper client for Steam? The sad part of the Steam is that its still the 2003/4 client with stuff piled on top of each other.
Wants Steam client that actually is built to do the stuff that Valve is cramming on it.

i was very impressed it seems the xbox is going for the whole hey we are listening to you heres some good games and well talk happy like where as playstation is all corporate stuff.

i think my jaw hit the floor when the alert sound came on and kojima walked on.

this year and next year are incredibly promising for the good old xbox no mass effect 2 showing though which kinda saddened me a bit but there will probs be some coverage during the week.

i have to say it was probably the best E3 yet for microsoft. (also modern warfare 2 looked like a james bonds movie i mean blasting people while riding a snow mobile epic wins)

although i have both xbox & ps3... i'm pretty pissed off about the MGS5 going to xbox.

i don't know if anyone had been following kojima's website or the vague rumors swimming around for the past couple of weeks... but he made a huge deal about it.

thank god it wasn't JUST that metal gear was going to xbox, cause i would have been terribly upset. i love raiden, so i'm pretty happy about that... though i'm waiting for an actual trailer.

what i'm most scared of is that they're doing the gameplay differently.

what does everyone think that means? no more sneaking? probably not tactical espionage... :sigh: sad.

17 minutes as of time of posting till the Ubi conference. Tom Clancy titles, Assassin's Creed 2, BG&E 2, and more will be on display. If they have any new IPs, they'll likely announce them too.

The Sony/Nintendo conferences are tommorow though, so no info on them till then

no... i'm watching it on G4. but they don't seem to be talking about anything new... morgan, adam & some other guy were just talking about the splinter cell games.

I'm sorry but I think I'm a little tired of MGS now.. YES it was an INTERESTING series, but honestly, I feel that since Sons of Liberty, the gameplay took a major backseat to the story. It's like movie sequels... after the 3rd movie or so, the franchise becomes tired. Honestly, can anyone really point out any innovation that took place between MGS and MGS4 beyond the graphics and the length of cut scenes? Otherwise if you've played snake one way, you can play him that SAME way in every other game, and quite frankly, the series has fallen into the same camp as Splinter Cell to me: Super badass one-man-army type heroes forced to creep around all over the place like silent assassins until they are discovered, then they turn into super wusses who apparently in all their years of service never figured out how to run and gun effectively. Honestly, even though it was a sorta mediocre game, the Bourne game did better than any game in EITHER of these two series of combining stealth play with action third person shooting, and Uncharted falls a very close second.

The Stealth genre as a whole to me is getting old to me. I'm sure there are those who like sneaking around trying not to be discovered, moving from shadow to shadow in their cardboard box but you know, I like the idea that IF my super badass hero just so happens to be discovered, I'm still one bad mutha-shut-yo-mouth.

yes, but then again the story has always been a pivotal point to the games.

and yes, there are differences. speaking from experience of very very recently replaying the games, the controls have gotten far more fluid. small things such as the menu screen, the on-site procurement is completely different... to the introduction of a weapons launderer... etc etc.

but they don't change drastically from game to game because you have to keep what makes metal gear, metal gear.

and if you don't want to sneak around, play another game. simple. it's like tenchu, if you don't want to bother sneaking around and hiding bodies, go blast people repeatedly on halo.
