The "wild west samurai" thing is nothing new... hell he looks like a mixture of Alucard and Vash The Stampede... but the game does look cool. My only gripe is that it seems to really try to do a lot of mature things in a non-mature way and as if they didnt quite try to make it open-ended... I mean, the guy with the hammer.. why couldnt I shoot his hands or knees to cripple him or make him drop his hammer? This is 2009... I expect more functionality in my games now than just a simple rail shooter with motion controls.

And when I see a guy swing a katana and cut down his enemies, I want.. no.. NEED to see blood in order to complete my suspension of disbelief. Otherwise, you might as well have the bad guy freeze in a pose of agony while screaming a death cry before flashing out of existence.

Now, more talk with Pele... Man, Ubisoft is boring the hell out of me.

Not saying I dont "like" them... just saying that while the story is excellent, it's wrapped up in the same old gameplay that doesnt really change the experience in my opinion from game to game. If you played MGS you can play MGS4 the same way with little difference in style.
All I'm saying though is that I'd like to see Kojima do something else... I'm more excited about new games instead of part 5 of whatever series.

Sure there are people who love MGS and thats fine. Me personally, I'm ready to see something new. It's like Tim Schafer... he's always coming up with something new, original, and different rather than endless sequels.

But you're right, everyone has different tastes in what they like. Not better or worse, just different :)

if it's any consolation, the new one is supposed to be very very different.

Lol the dude in Ubisoft talking about Splinter Cell is talking about EXACTLY what I was just complaining about with Stealth-based games!

I guess the people who make these games DO notice the monotony...
