Where does the series go from here?

We've dealt with Morrowind's Tribunal, sealed the gates of oblivion shut, and bought time for the world by defeating Alduin. I know it seems a bit early to talk about the next game, but after reading a ton of lore, it left me wondering what the next great threat we will have to deal in the sixth elder scroll.

Will we get to see another Akaviri Invasion? Will we finally get to see harsh Blackmarsh or shady Elsewyr? What are your thoughts?

Think about how much fun it would be to fight dragons in zero G!

Unless they deal with them completely in a piece of DLC, the Thalmor might very well play a role. The wohle conflict between them and the Empire seems like something that can't just be ignored.

First thing I would like to see, port Morrowind onto the 360. There hasnt been an xbox original moved in a while and thats one of two games (the other being gladius) I wish they would port. Morrowind is my favorite of the series and I still play it on my laptop but PC gaming has always made my hands cramp.

I think it would be cool for the next installment to be a full on race war. The peace treaty is broken and everyone is tired of the others ways, could be like WoW without the mmo part. You start off in which ever race you pick's home land and work your way up the ranks of the army of that nation. Then, once you have made it to a certain status, the order comes down from the king to all imperials to try to take over where ever they are stationed. After stopping the attempted invasion, or if you picked Imperial you barely manage to survive, the remaining Imperials flee back to there home land to regroup the army. Could even add a multiplayer element like crome hounds had where you are trying to take over parts of the map, but its not like the game needs multiplayer.

It could turn out that all the gods have gotten together to see who's people are the best and put things in motion for all out war, the winning god being proclaimed King/Queen of the gods. You are the chosen one of your people and your god speaks directly to you, with the ending being your rise to the top of your people and being proclaimed king/queen. To do that, you would need to rally the best people in the trade they have chosen and the only way they would follow you is if you are the head of the guild they are a part of. All the NPC's would have to choose, loyalty to there country and people or Loyalty to there guild.

You would jump from land to land taking over and enlisting the help of the people there after you take over and gather them all to eventually take on the Imperials, who have the biggest army of all races.

I may have been to specific in what Id hope to see, but all that was made up off the top of my head in about 15 minutes. Im just a construction worker so Im sure they can come up with something way better than what I just did. Either way, I'll be happy just to have whatever they come up with.

could be that they never plan to have the player deal exclusively with the thalmor. They might just remain that nation of jerks that player characters only skirmish with. While some new apocalypse rears its head and tries to destroy everything, again!

The game has set up a pretty good world in it, and I hope it continues with the Thalmor/Empire dynamic for a good few games, because the Thalmor are a REALLY good enemy I find.

If you think about it, Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind and Oblivion were all set in the time of Uriel Septim VIII with his actions setting the plots in motion.

The next few games should be set around the Thalmor/Empire conflict, and end it eventually. Skyrim is definitely setting up a big conflict, it wouldn't be faior to have it resolved in a DLC.

I'd REALLY like to see TES1/2 updated in some way to the 'modern' graphical style.

After that?
Well...TES6 should probably be about the start of the war with the Thamlor.
It NEEDS to happen.

TES7 could be set DURING the war within The Empire
TES8 could be set DURING the war within the 'other regions'.
TES9 could be set DURING the war within Thamlor controlled areas.

& to top it all off...
TES10 (which will probably be on the PS6) could be a sort of 'jumping around all previous places) in some kind of epic 'end of the war' scenario.

I think someone in another thread said that depending on how you play it, Skyrim would be a really good hiking simulator/RPG. So logically it's going to be a simulation of various pretty country walks around the UK & other locations. Maybe.

I think it will be about the Thalmor and return of the nerevarine, since I believe he/she is still alive. Would also be nice to play the Nerevar again instead of a unknown chosen one, but I guess bethesda isn't going to break the tradition of starting the game as a blank hero.

It'd be cool to see the Numidium return as a massive plot point, a deciding factor between the Empire and the Thalmor war.

My predicted odds for the location of the new game are:
25% Akavir [http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Akavir].
25% two [http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Elsweyr] provinces [http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Valenwood].
20% new island/underground location/theorised landmass/Payandonea [http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Pyandonea]/floating landmass ~ Umbriel [http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/The_Infernal_City:_An_Elder_Scrolls_Novel], but bigger & exotic.
20% revisiting a province [http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Hammerfell].
5% Summerset Isles [http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Summerset_Isles].
5%Aetherius [http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Aetherius] (opposite of Oblivion, theoretically impossible to get to, the place I believe the Dwemer to be & a probable location for one of Skyrim's DLC).

Personally, the only thing I want to see in the series future is The Elder Scrolls VI: Akavir.

okay, I lied, I also want to see the return of the Dwemer. Of COURSE Dagoth Ur thought they destroyed themselves, but it really seems more likely that using this godlike power that they would've ended up just casting themselves off to a different plane.
