i think you would run out of ideas for pokemon when you make make one after a garbage bag.

but they didn't stop there

they had to give it a evolution.
What? Kinda like sludge coming to life? Grimer is basically Trubbish's equivalent. Two-staged pure poison-type. Both are fairly ridiculous concepts.
Remember. The new region is based on the Manhattan Metropolitan Area. Sentient garbage makes sense when you're so close to Jersey.
a few things 1 is unova based after New York 2 i am aussie 3 what i mean is that they are running out of idears for pokemon
Uh. Wow.
One: I said that. I guess it's define as the "New York" metropolitan area, but I hear both thrown around. Guess someplace in Kansas is also called Manhattan, fancy that. Either way, Kansas is no where close to Jersey. Kind of obvious what I meant.
Two: That's nice?
Three: Just because you don't like them doesn't mean that they are running out of ideas. The only reason why people say that they were running out of ideas when they made things like Mr. Mime is because it was the first batch. He's just as ridiculous or even more so than the newer Pokemon that people love to throw around as examples for Game Freak's apparent lack of imagination.
Mr. Mime is horrible. I recently downloaded pokemon online, and made a bunch of guys. I started at the top of the list and every time I got to someone I liked I chose his abilities, EVs, etc and put him in a box. When I finished it turned out 50% are from first gen, 25% from second gen, 20% from third gen, 5% from fifth gen. They really do seem to be running out of ideas, or at least good ideas.

If it was ever on a 360 or PS3 or even a computer, I might even try it.
I'm really surprised they haven't really done that for the Wii yet. A full Pokemon game like for the various Game Boys. They had something like that for the GameCube, but, it was severely trimmed down. They could do better, easily.
Really, though. . . I've played Pokemon on my Wii, my PS3 and my computer. . . it simply doesn't work. There is something about it being handheld that simply makes it work and draws me in for hours, but the second it hits a fixed station, it becomes extremely boring and all I want to do is put it down. No joke.

Probably as long as Mario and link are (think about it, how different are either of those games at their core level?).

Anyway, I honestly want to see them do a game where there's two versions in one game cartridge. One for normal runs, and ones for nuzlocke runs. Or at least give you the option in the beginning of the game, so you cant cheat.

They made the first Mickey Mouse cartoon back in the 1920's (or was it 1930's ?), and they're still making them decades later. They will make this pokemon thing last as long as it's profitable...

How about a pokemon game that doesn't make you the trainer, force you to catch pokemon and beat gym leaders?

How about you are the pokemon? Or maybe real time battles? More RPG elements? A more intricate story.

Really, all nintendo is doing is doing the SAME THING OVER AND OVER AGAIN with relatively minor changes which makes doing the same thing over and over again easier.
I think you might be thinking of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, which in my opinion, was an excellent dungeon crawler based on you becoming a pokemon. They're pretty good games. Though I understand what you mean, they could do a lot to the series. Here's hoping they figure out a way to make more games work without overloading everyone. I remember when I knew every pokemon out there...

Well, Mario is still alive, and the franchise just made it to space.
So Pokemon: Sun ?
When some friends and I were talking about what they could name the next Pokemon games, we settled on "Pokemon: Sun", "Pokemon: Moon", and "Pokemom: Eclipse", odd how we have the same idea...

Or maybe you just prefer older Pokemon to the newer ones?
A lot of the newer Pokemon have more imagination behind them has they're based on more obscure things, like folklore as opposed to animals. It's not so much as they're running out of ideas but rather expanded what Pokemon could be, and that makes people uncomfortable because they think Pokemon should just be things they already know, but with fire instead of hair, etc. (ultra creative)

Perhaps people should stop throwing around such ridiculous notions and just say that they flat out don't like them.
I like the majority of fifth generation Pokemon. Fourth gen in comparison, not so much. Definitely my least liked generation in designs, but this generation is better (my favorite so far, actually). Both the two most recent, but vastly different outlook on both. Did they run out of ideas and then suddenly get ideas again? No.
Nothing wrong with like plain Pokemon, but I'm willing to bet that most people have warmed up to what they grew up with when they were a kid rather than giving new ones a chance due to the different looking style. (much more crisp and color on the new art, where the old ones look pale and crude in comparison)

The older generations just felt more polished than the newer ones. More simpler. I prefer simplicity over complexity to be completely honest, and all of my friends agree that they do not like the new generations either so I felt my rejection had some logical basis. I like the pokemon when they resemble animals, not robots or washing machines.

Brainstorming for the next Pokemon game that will come out within the next couple of years:
Pokemon Dawn, Dusk, and Twilight
Pokemon Heaven and Hell (what?)
Pokemon Galaxy and (someone think of something else that would go with this)

Anyway, in all seriousness it's not going to end anytime soon. Maybe around 1000 Pokemon they can make an incredibly awesome game that will bring back every Pokemon and every familiar character from every main game ever, but that's just me dreaming. (But come on, you know that would be awesome.)

Washing machines? Are you talking about the ghost Pokemon that can morph into household appliances? Funny that a GHOST can either take control of objects or morph into things. I swear that there was something like this in the old days, and even in actual movies? Poltergeist, maybe? Nope. I must be kidding myself. Not like ghost Pokemon have ever manipulated something or made illusions in the original series or anything.

Really though. Good for you and your friends man. It's like they all grew up in your time or something, but really, it's nice to have people who agree with you. I'm sure most people that liked it when they were younger would agree. Of course, I would know nothing about it. ;)

they could always do a gritty reboot. Colosseum was pretty good and the main had arguably the best look in the entire series. They don't have to keep making new pokemon they can come up with great ideas if they work with what they have

A popular intellectual property by Nintendo? Dying? It'll be a cold day in Hell when that happens.

And don't even think about counting the "new play control!" ports to the Wii. It adds just as much to the series as The House of the Dead 2&3 Return did for its own.
Can I count Pikmin 3? That game that has been in development for the Wii, the one Miyamoto has been saying he has a team working on every year since E3 2008. I think that counts even if it is going slow due to a small dev team.

So you can say the 5th is the most imaginative so far while others who think it's the worst are just making ridiculous notions?

I find the new Pokemon are the least characteristic out of the lot, and some trying to look serious just look goofy. Then I compare the legendaries, but I can't because the new ones are so lame.

Didn't mind all the previous games until Pearl. I'm not even gonna bother with this gen cause hardly any of the Pokemon appeal to me.

I heard somewhere that Game Freak and Nintendo are actually planning to do 1000 pokemon before packing it in. And even then, I don't think they'll do so.

Me being a pokemon fan from the begining, think they are running out of ideas. However, as with every series that needs to be taken behind the shed for a "talk", they will continue to live. Instead of going to. . . the "farm". . .
I am now sad :(

OT: If it is gonna die, it's gonna go out with a bang, that's for sure
No it's not. Its going to end when it stops making money. And When it does thre is not going to be any motivation to do so with a BANG.
