It could certainly do something for the clan. What kind of gametypes and on what maps?bad rider said:Hey If we could start a halo 3 tournament that would be great.

Currently writing on the RP thread so I'll compile a list in a bit. It'll be on the maps that are free so no-one need worry about much about new maps. Anywhoo I'll give a list of gametypes and maps later on.DirkGently said:It could certainly do something for the clan. I've started a game using L4D's friend's list to find someone once, and check out the list any time my regulars aren't on (which has not been that often recently.) I think a good use for them will be to send out messages about game-specific events (like D_987's GoW2 event.) I was going to to this with L4D sooner or later, but anyone can message those of us who opened meta-tags and have us send out announcements on XBL. It will get the word out, when there's an event, to anyone who doesn't necessarily monitor this thread daily.DirkGently said:What's everyone's take on them? Have you guys been using them?
That makes sense and would be a good use of it. Of course it requires you to be online at that time.Bofus Teefus said:In reference to meta-tags-

...Does that make sense?
I think we should leave it somewhat open to discussion on here; as well as what 'rules' you guys decide to go by.bad rider said:Currently writing on the RP thread so I'll compile a list in a bit. Fine by me, whose going to organize it?DirkGently said:I think we should leave it somewhat open to discussion on here; as well as what 'rules' you guys decide to go by.bad rider said:Currently writing on the RP thread so I'll compile a list in a bit. Well, I don't think there is much organizing to be done since we're all online and all. First, the general rules and style o fit needs to be determined. We should definitely give it some to let people give their opinion on the rules and gametypes that will done. What do tournaments normally do? I'm not really familiar with what people play in the srs bsns gaming scene.bad rider said:Fine by me, whose going to organize it?DirkGently said:I think we should leave it somewhat open to discussion on here; as well as what 'rules' you guys decide to go by.bad rider said:Currently writing on the RP thread so I'll compile a list in a bit. Firstly, MM is single elimination. You lose one game, you're out. That's part of the charm of March Madness. There's a chance for the underdog to make an upset and win. In a normal sports-style best of seven, then better team always wins. I don't think the teams should be chosen randomly. Any group of people who play together will likely be separated, and while that may mean breaking up an especially good team, that will mean that you've got to tack on a few extra weeks of prep-time for teams to practice and get going. Likewise, I don't think letting the teams choose the mode is a good idea. I think it would be better to just say that the first round is TDM, then single flag CTF, then assault.bad rider said:Alright I'll put up a basic plan for the halo tournament.
It'll progress ala the march mayhem structure, teams will consist of a random slection so teams are nicely randomized into Team A B C etc. (Names can be changed) Each set of team play 3 rounds first is Team slayer on a random map, the next two are selected from any preset of either teams choice that is team based, e.g multiflag or team oddball etc.
Feel free to expand/change things.
