The Escapist Avatar Adventure: An Open RP (Now Re-Opened!)

Alice stepped off the elevator at the Combat Information Center and looked at the Ensign. She shrugged and punched a few more keys in the holographic keyboard and suddenly the entire ship rocked from side to side.

"Are you sure you put it in right!?" Alice screamed.

"I'm sure it's just the equalizer adjusting to our energy grid," Tabby said smiling before punching another few keystrokes in. As she finished the ship's klaxon started.

"What are you doing!?" Alice asked in panic.

"Hold on," Tabby's grin grew wide and wild, "THIS IS GONNA HURT!"

"What do you mean!?"

The Ensign flipped open a glass cover and pulled the handle inside.

The ship hummed to life and each of the signal lights began to brighten to blinding levels. The engines themselves shut off and then burst to life, scouring the surrounding land in fire and ash. The massive ship began to move forward, displacing all the earth before it until in a last burst of energy it launched into the air.

The room was filled with red and shaking uncontrollably, Alice fell to the floor and grasped it for stability. The rest of the crew followed suit. The whole ship was rocking and lurching and the klaxon became more and more deafening as the seconds wore on.

Ensign's uncontrolled laughter rang across the bridge, with the only break those few moments where she had to take breath.

"DISENGAGING OVERHEAT PROTOCOLS," Ensign screamed after she finished with her cackling laughter. She turned the handle and slammed it back down into place.

The klaxon and tremors stopped. Alice held onto her chair and tried to stand up, "Don't. Ever. Do. That. Again."

Utusho turned to Zechs and shrugged. "What's to say? About the only interesting thing I've ever done was supercharge the fires of hell, with the intention of burning a pocket dimension, which I lived in before I came here somehow, to the ground." She took a bite out of a large steak. "Except after I got beaten up by a pair of human girls, I just stopped it. I don't actually remember anything that happened before then. Even if I was originally right- or left-handed."

"And now?" Zechs asked.

Utusho held up her folded-back arm cannon in response. "At least ninety percent of the time, this covers my hand as well. If I wasn't left-handed before this, it probably didn't take me long to switch over." Zechs raised an eyebrow at it, but didn't say anything.

Gandalf, Zero, Black Star and Tsubaki all walked down the trail from Tomoya's mountain base in a strangled line. "Now, if I remember correctly, the meadow we all met in, sorry, most of us met in should be just down there... Ah! Yes." Gandalf said as they emerged from the tree line into the meadow. All the heroes could see was a scorched and blackened line cut through the ground, burnt all the way through the meadow. Alice's ship was nowhere in sight. "Well, I guess they must have gotten that part for her ship." Zero said, scanning the sky for any signs of the bulky frigate. "I can't see them on scanners. Do you think she ditched us?"

"No. She was mumbling about wormholes and being unable to jump home or something or rather." Gandalf replied to Zero. "I think we should wait here and see if she returns. If she is not back by nightfall, we'll make camp and then move on without her tommorrow."

Black Star turned to Tsubaki and moaned. "Aww, I HATE waiting! What are we gonna do in the meantime?"

Gandalf meanwhile, had sat down on a fallen tree and pulled out his pipe and a small pouch. His brow was furrowed and he looked deep in thought. "Hmmm..." He pondered aloud. "Sould I smoke some Hobbiton leaf, or that more powerful stuff they grow over in Tookland? The Tooks today, I think." And with that Gandalf loaded his pipe and tapped it with his staff and put it in his mouth, puffing away happily. Content with waiting, Gandalf began to blow smoke rings, laughing as he played around with them, forming rings in rings, and rings around rings, and rings through rings!

Zechs, being bored with the calmness of the situation, refilled everyone's glasses and made a toast. "To my new employers, let us have a long and prosperous relationship." and he raised his glass to Justin and Glados. "Now if i may ask two things, The first is Where may there be a hanger for my mech, Epyon? The second is, Just how robotic are each of you? i may have something that would put your skills and capabilities far beyond any mortal or mortal constructed robot could ever dream of achieving."

Venice, Italy

A retired Maddawg sits in a lounge chair on the patio of his giant locust villa when his butler came outside.

"Sir, it appears you have a visitor." Said the Butler.

"We've been over this a hundred times Rupert, if the girls scouts come back, you kill them and take the Thin Mints!" Maddawg replied, not even bothering to turn his head toward his subordinate.

"Its not the girl scouts sir, but he is rather effeminate."

"Grim? But I thought he was working for minimum wage in Detroit."

"No sir, this one claims his name is Sam."

"Fine, let him in."

A young man walked onto the patio, a smug look on his face and even smug hipster like music blaring from his Ipod. "Maddawg! So good to see you! Man, do I have somethings to tell you." he said

"If you're asking me to rejoin the Avatar Adventure, you can forget it, I spent 200 pages their already, I'm not willing to spend anymore."

"Awww, but come on, I already tried the others!" Sam bawled. "I found Ram on Mount Largeunpronouncableswedishname, you've probably never heard of it and he headbutted me off a cliff! I found Sho working for a record company and he threw me out the skyscraper window (In hindsight, I probably shouldn't have suggested those Homestuck albums to him.) and then I found Grim in Detroit-"

"And let me guess, he said no." Maddawg cut him off.

"Not just that! He threw the french fry oil at me!"

"Look, I'm sorry for your misfortune, but the answer is still no."

"Fine, I guess the AA will survive with these new villains...you know some are even saying they're better villains then you ever were."

Maddawg turned to Sam who was beginning to walk away, his muscles tense and a scowl on his face. "Excuse me?" he replied.

"Oh nothing, I was just talking about how the new villains are much better at their job then you ever were."

Maddawg threw his sunglasses to the floor and stood up, rage boiling beneath his skin. "WHAT!? NO ONE IS MORE EVIL THEN I! I INVENTED THE WORD! ME! MAD "AJ" DAWG!"

[sup]"I always thought your name was one word...."[/sup]

"I SERVED ON THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR UMBRELLA! I KEEP THE MERCENARIES IN TEAM FORTRESS IN A DEADLOCK FOR THE FUN OF IT! I EVEN TRAINED DARTH FUCKING VADER!"

"I thought that was Obi Wan Ken-"

"GORGE LUCAS DIDN'T WANNA PAY ME! I don't know who these 'villains' think they are Sam, but I'm in! Come on, I kept the Enterprise in the lot downstairs."

"You named your ship the Enterprise?"

"NO! IT ACTUALLY IS THE STAR SHIP ENTERPRISE FROM STAR TREK! I'M MADDAWG! I MAKE SHIT HAPPEN!"

"RIGHTEOUS COCKS!" Sam declared, kicked a hole in the floor and dropped through. He did this another three times, causing wholly unnecessary damage to Maddawg's villa and ending up in the parking lot ten minutes after he did.

Prior to boarding Maddawg's vessel, Sam felt a character-reestablishing moment was in order. He reached into his Subspace Bag and pulled out an orphan. "My boy, this shall be your last day on earth! How do you feel?"

"B-but... I fout you wos won of the good'uns!" the orphan whined in a terrible cockney accent.

"Lad, in my absence from this universe I discovered my one true passion." Sam placed the orphan on the ground, then reached into his bag and pulled out a cue-stick. "Ultraviolence."

Sam swung the cue back over his shoulder and brought it down in a swift arc, smacking the orphan's head in two. "And what better medium into which to direct this passion than the old AA thread? It's just rife with moronic idiot babies simply BEGGING to be skewn asunder! Indeed, here is the place if ever there were one to set my new calling as a sociopathic serial killer into motion. Madam!" Sam spun on his heel and pointed dramatically with his cue at Maddawg's chest. "Let's kill everybody!"

"...Why are you so camp Sam?" Maddawg asked, pushing the cue-stick away from his chest. "Whatever, lets just get going."

Upon entering the Starship Enterprise's cockpit, Maddawg took his rightful seat in the captain's seat and pressed a button. "Gordon! Horrible! Get in here now!" He shouted, his voice echoing throughout the entire ship as the intercom mimicked his voice. Suddenly, in a large flash of teleportation, two men in Lab Coats appeared before Maddawg. Both were rather young, one with brown hair, a full beard and glasses, the other had blonde hair and strange goggles on. The Blonde one spoke

"Horrible and Freeman reporting for duty si- Sir! Look out! A good guy has infiltrated the villa! Get him Gordon!"

"Wait, wha-" Said Sam before being hit with a crowbar to the head.

"Actually, he is my new lacky, but keep hitting him. I find the sound rather amusing."

"Oh, our apologies sir."

"I think I brained my damage..." Said Sam, rubbing his temple.

"Anyways, we're reentering the buisness and we need you two to get us to the moon so I may retrieve my equipment for my latest dastardly deed!"

"But sir, the moon is several hours away, even with the enterprise it will take a-"

5 hours later

"-while...wait, are we in Space? What the hell happened!?"

"Time cards my young doctor." Said Maddawg, throwing a time card that read 5 hours later into Sam's bag. "Sometimes the simplest methods are the most effective."

 

[Orinon]

Black Star watched the rings of smoke almost as if in a trance.
Tsubaki leaned toward Tomoya
"How did he know that would calm Black Star?"
Tomoya shrugged as he had no idea.
Tsubaki could only guess that Gandalf had been with young children before, she couldn't see souls but something told her he liked children.

Tsubaki laid on the soft Grass, the journey up the mountain had been tiring, her breathing slowed, soon she had almost no presence. With the tall grass you couldn't find her.
she then drifted off to sleep.

Alice stumbled over to the observation windows and pressed her hands on the cool glass, the soft hum of the ship met her palms and Alice took in the sight.

A canopy of green extended over the rolling hills and mountains, rustling with movement and life. Gusts of wind moved slowly over the tops, sending soft waves of light across the trees. More and more in each direction until they vanished into the horizon, a sea of green punctuated with bursts of white mist from waterfalls or springs.

Alice held her breath, the whirring of mechanics from the ship behind her clashed with the naturally symphonies of the leaves, birds and winds.

She backed up and let her fingers lightly slide off the glass, "Ensign, where are we," Alice asked, breathless.

"No idea," she replied, working away at the console, "Navigation is offline, all charting instruments are dead. Jump drive is fine though, the Capacitor equalizer is holding up better than the old piece of junk we had."

Her hands continued to fly across the keyboard, "Cloaking is online, sublight engines are fine, missiles bays are a-ok, kinetic barriers are offline but that hardly matters, ECM modules are offline, and the damage control unit is fried. Minor hull breaches in a few tertiary systems but Blackharte is fixing that. Looks like the overheat only really did damage to out jump charts."

"Record these coordinates, then get us back to that meadow."

"Alright Commander."

The group waiting around the meadow jumped when the battleship reappeared in mid-air and landed, lightly and appropriately this time, on the scorched earth.

Utusho cocked her head sideways at Zechs' question. "By 'robot', you mean able to handle stuff beyond normal humans, right?" she asked. "Because I'm certainly capable of that, particularly if nuclear stuff is involved. Despite not actually being that mechanical. Well, except for this," she added, pulling her arm back up.

"what i am referring to is my Zero system, it is installed in Epyon and enhances my abilities,which are already beyond human standards to things of legends, i took out an entire army of mobile suits by myself. its a software/hardware combination that increases reaction time and thought process. making you aware of everything at once." Zechs finished saying then looked at frank. "I've won wars single handed you know." he then looked back at Utusho with a satisfied grin. "Unless you can install things to yourself, then you are out of luck Madame ."

"Well, not really," Utusho admitted, "but do you really want to go against a nuclear-powered energy cannon?"

"It sounds painful, so i'd rather not. On a side note, how do you not get radiation sickness from it? any ordinary person would be dead within 15 minutes." Zechs asked

Glados looked to Zechs, her cheeks flushed from alcohol consumption. "We have a very extensive hanger with all sorts of military equipment, you can stow your mech there. Just don't scratch the paint of the other things down there, we just got a new coat of white on them."

A server went up and taped Justin on the shoulder. Justin's new instinct caused him to extend a clawed hand and sever the server's lower half from his upper. "Message... for you... sir" The server said with his last gasp, and handed a slip of paper to Justin.

"You need to control yourself!" Glados said waggling her finger at Justin. "What's the message say?"

"Its from me" Justin said, confused.

"From you?" Zechs said also confused.

"Yeah, the envelope is titled 'forth wall break' weird" Justin used a clawed finger to open the envelope and extracted the letter within. He read it aloud. "You are fucked... Love you... From Me"

"You love yourself?" Utusho said, smirking.

"I don't know, but its also come to my attention that you guys are probably bored of this gala" Justin said loosening his tie and taking his wife's hand with his unclawed hand. "Let's get out of here"

So I'm thinkin of a adventure to have, but I can relaly only think of the old world blues expansion for Fallout, where its bassicly a throw back to all those 60's movies about crazy scientests making crazy things. so i'd be evil science vs evil science? But I don't think you'd know that, throw me some suggestions, or better yet tell me you want to take control I'm cool with that.

"Thank you Ma'am" Zechs said bowing. " Now if you excuse me i shall go put Epyon in the hangar." and Zechs made his way up to the surface. Now in the Hangar, he found a dark corner and Put Epyon in it. after acquiring the necessary components, he was set up and could start making adjustments to Epyon.

Okay I've decided the next little gig, it'll take me a while to get the small details all figured out, but expect a plot by 8PM pasific time. Just lounge around Aperture till then.

Ken sat in his room deep in thought on ways to gain power. He could absorb the power of all the nukes in the world but that would take too long. Nuclear reactors came to mind but they had less power, and much less of those. The only alternative was to absorb a star. They held the amount of power that he was seeking but the major drawback was that he needed a ship that could achieve faster than light or some kind of warp drive. He would ask Justin tomorrow after he got sleep. Today's events had really drained him.

As the large battleship landed in the meadow, lightly this time, Gandalf looked up. "Ahh, so she has returned. Good news! Now, we can take the ship to India, rather than having to walk the long way around. Come Young Black Star, go and gather Tsubaki and Zero, and we shall go and meet Alice once more."

Black Star nodded and jumped up, running at full tilt towards Zero, only to trip over Tsubaki and land face first in a pile of dirt. Gandalf and Zero burst out laughing as Black Star looked up, his face dirty. Tsubaki gracefully rose from the ground and dusted her self off, giggling at Black Star. "How many times do I have to tell you to plan your route before you go running off?" she gently reprimanded him. Black Star jumped to his feet and ran a little more carefully to Zero, and then walking the robot to the ship where Gandalf and Tsubaki were waiting. A ramp lowered to reveal Alice.

"You know, I don't normally take hitchhikers, but you guys look pretty desperate." She said mockingly.
"Well, most hitchhikers don't have the ability to summon any number of offensive spells to burn you into a crisp, do they?" Gandalf replied humourosly. Alice smiled, and stepped aside.

"Welcome aboard!"

At that moment, Tomoya appeared over the horizon, riding his airbike at maximum speed. He skidded to a stop by the ramp and grinned. "Hey, have you got a hanger bay I can stash this?" He asked.
