In Shadow's hotel room, his captive was slowly waking up. He hadn't left the room the entire time, or even left his chair. Then she noticed she was tied down. Rather than struggle, she simply asked, "So you don't trust me?"
"Why should I?" was his response, as he pointed at the Umbreon. Clearly, he'd let it out of its ball a while ago. "From what I can tell, not even your pet trusts you." He stopped for a while, then remembered something. "Oh, and why is your hat stuck?"
The girl didn't have an answer for a while. "I don't know," she confided. "But probably... It's probably so nobody ever finds out who I am. And this world seems to be preventing me from just showing you who I am. If I told you, you'd have no way to know if I was telling the truth. So why should I tell you who I am? Clearly, you wouldn't trust me not to lie about that either."
She slowly shook her head, and added something else. "Oh, one other thing, though: now that I've been able to properly get a look at you, even through this world's lens, I still definitely recognise you from before. The airship...I believe it was called Rising Dawn?"
