Angie! What did I tell you about Dove-Roasting?
As Angelus wandered over, she was glad to see her partner pulled out the small machine again, and began to type,
Code:
"If you would be so kind...?"
Angelus nodded, and 'sent'
"Are your fire armaments still equipped? I will need Moonfire and Kingsblood."
The mute rolled his eyes,
"What is it with you and Kingsblood? It's as if you're in love with it. It doesn't even create fire!"
"It's for the lesson. Now hand the damn thing."
With that, Caim reached into the wheel and pulled out the specified weapons, handing the crimson blade to Aftan and the knife to the dragon.
Inspecting the weapon on instinct; as the dragon would her claws, Angelus looked to the Knight.
"Magic is a force to be reckoned with. It's origins are written in many interpretations, treatises and can be labeled over just about anything. Some are born with it, and it enfuses their being to the point of bluring the lines of biology,"
she indicated herself,
"And some have to work with it, crawling on their hands and knees to get to it. And depending upon who you ask, it's properties and manners are different in each account; such as yourself and Caim. Your focus for the magic is different, as well as the execution; but in essence, they are the same. You rely upon your tattoos, with the convenience of them being everywhere; but at the cost of not being completely at rest from it. The mute needs the weapons to do it all. However he has versatility where you are limited to your tattoos. It is today you will learn from this varied approach; specifically, how to evoke magic. You are new to it; so I figured that using a medium that already contains magic would be a good start, and then moving to evoke from yourself. A weapon has no thoughts... Normally."
She made sure to add that, lest she anger Sword and Comet, not that they were really there to begin with...
"The sword in your hand is non-sentient, so do not fret in wielding it. Furthermore, these weapons are a little testy. To get them to work properly, you need to attack something. Thankfully, dummies are available, and can suffice for a bit of time; till the blades realize they are not gaining blood. For one reason or another, any sort of enchantment in our realm demands a sacrifice or blood of some kind, before it is activated. Now, as you are allied by the elements, we will use the ones closest to your affinities; in this case, fire. Caim will take it from here."
With that, Caim began to go over with Aftan the general procedure for activating a weapon from the realm that was once his home,
Code:
"Essentially, what it boils down to is that you have to attack your enemy a number of times, and monitor the magic in the blade. [u]Feel[/u] the potential growing within it, and then call it forth! Usually, you have to stand still, and move the weapon in some way. That's the easy part. The hard part is actually getting it out of the blade. When you do it right, a column of flame should burst from the floor; only affecting your enemies. Let's see you go at it."
