Debora instantly felt her legs collapse, and the bullet tear through the air above her head. She blinked, unable to full comprehend what was happening around her. Richardson aimed again and fired, in response, her body jerked to the side as if pulled by invisible marionette strings.
In mid jump, she grabbed the tome at her hip and hit the spine, opening the book to a middle page.
"Journeyman of the ocean deeps, whose kingdom spreads across all that is bountiful," the air around her began to shimmer, "beautiful as you are, with trident in hand. You had met my kin once before on the cliffs of Terra Nova, you who signed a pledge to forever protect mankind. The waves have been unrelenting, the storms have been furious. We can no longer endure, I beg of you, for sons that might never see the light of the sun and stars I beg of you. I am but a lord of a people, weak and mortal. You are a god, strong and eternal, protect my children from the mountains to the shore. Let a ocean of grain once again prosper on this barren soil, and let the sun shine once again on my kingdom," Richardson fired more rounds from his pistol, but they bounced off the shimmering air. The entire library rumbled as Debora read, her voice echoed through all of London, "Endless raging sea! Be quenched! Forever be sealed in my words by the will of your own lord, who the brine must obey. Let storms no longer threaten my kingdom, and let not my ships sit useless in harbor. Journeyman of the ocean deeps, who walks with trident in hand and a horn to quell the waves," all around the Library erupted with sea water, and it knocked Richardson off his feet. The waves poured onward out, swallowing the roads and flowing into the River Thames until it was overflowing. Many of the UNIT personnel became lost in the tidal waves. Miasma rolled leisurely in the water. Debora shut the tome, and the water vanished as quickly as it had come, leaving the UNIT soldiers, Richardson, and many husks strewn about the London streets. "rise against your rebellious child, and lock him within me. The Subsiding Flood, anonymous lord of Sumeria. 1,700 B.C.E."
Debora landed on her feet, the water had soaked the library and left Richardson plastered against the floor. She walked away from the man, "do not misunderstand Mr. Richardson. We are here to stop the Red Mage before he gets too far. But we cannot truly be rid of him in this plane. Nor can any of the people truly die. We must defeat him when he is no longer protected by Fates uncouth."
