"Huh?" Peacock remarked as she turned around and looked at Harry. "What's your problem Bud? you got a staring problem or something!" She said to Harry, then lit up another cigar and puffed on it.
Harry looks at Peacock.
When he was younger, 6 or 7 he used to get up, early in the morning, to watch cartoons in front of a TV, among a few of his other fellow orphans. He would watch and laugh at the hilarious antics...
And now he was pretty much coming face-to-face with what appears to be a living cartoon.
"Hells bells, I must be asleep or something..." He mutters, "Maybe Mab slipped something into my drink before I went out..."
He sits down.
Peacock taps her foot on the ground and crossed her arms. "Hey I'm talking to you bud! Don't tell you never seen a cartoon before? If not your REALLY missing out!" She said to Harry grinning, while taking puffs on her Cigar.
Age: Orcs don't celebrate birthdays; however, they do acknowledge different stages of life. Mallicos is considered an adult by his people, but is also still considered to be young. I think 25 would be a good answer.
Race: Mallicos is an Orc.
Origin: Mallicos hails from the continent of Nosgoth.
Title: Mallicos's martial prowess has been begrudgingly acknowledged by his people; he is currently an erun (eh-roon) a word that means something akin to soldier; however, it is also a derogatory term in some circles. Grunt or pawn may be closer to the spirit of the word.
Clothing: Mallicos wears a full suit of plate armor at all times; the most distinguishing pieces of his armor are a large, well crafted, but plain barbute [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbute], a large, dark-blue mantle, and a large, circular shield (usually strapped to his right arm) presumably made of steel.
Appearance: Mallicos is six feet tall. As stated before, Mallicos is usually completely covered in full plate armor, and wears a large blue mantle over it. His armor is a dull gray color and completely unadorned; plain in every way. He also wears three steel rings on his left hand and two interlocking amulets on his neck; one a blue oval and the other a green rectangle. Even through his armor, he has the appearance of someone with a great deal of strength, although he is perhaps not heavily muscled.
Mallicos's skin, what little of it you can see, is a pale green color. He has a very large lower jaw, and two large canines; their tips are almost even with his nose. His eyes are a dark maroon color with black sclera. If he were to remove his helm, you would see he has no eyebrows, and short, gray hair.
Powers:Mallicos is a knight; well, knight is the wrong word, but he wears armor, performs quests, and works towards the well being of his people, so we'll call him a knight. As a knight, he has several unique powers. He can attack with a much greater strength (about twice his normal strength, but not for extended periods of time). He can amplify his already tremendous healing abilities, as well as regenerating his armor. He can imbue his sword with the fire, ice, lightning, wind, darkness, and light, although the enchantment only lasts about an hour; when enchanted, his sword also has the ability to absorb similar elements. He can increase the physical durability of himself and any allies he has, although this only lasts two hours. He can also focus his reflexes to avoid attacks, although he can't do this for more than a minute, and personally feels this ability is useless. Mallicos is a skilled swordsman besides this, but is unfamiliar with other weapons.
Mallicos heals very quickly; cuts heal almost instantly, limbs or other life-thretaning injuries regenerate in a matter of minutes, and even being completely disemboweled or cut in half is little more than a nuisance. As long as Mallicos is not completely and totally dead, his health is not any special concern. What's more, his armor is much stronger than any normal metal, and must be damaged in order for him to be harmed in the first place. The armor also regenerates over time, but not as quickly; it takes about an hour for his breastplate or helm to fully regenerate from near-total destruction. Mallicos is also unusually resistant to magic, especially chaotic, corrupting magic.
To make that entirely clear; Mallicos is very nearly indestructible.
Mallicos also possesses extraordinary strength and stamina. It is common to see Mallicos casually pulling a large covered wagon with him, filled to the top with goods he has collected over one journey or another. He is capable of slicing through any substance weaker than his sword, including most man-made materials, such as steel.
Mallicos's armor and sword are sentient, enchanted, and completely devoted to Mallicos. His armor also adapts depending on different circumstances; it can become stronger when more protection is needed, or increase Mallicos's own already titanic strength, but not both at the same time. It is usually content to stay in a protective state. His sword cannot adapt, but is tremendously powerful, and very well attuned to him.
Name: The Rainbow Mantle
Age: Slightly over 50,000,000 years old
Race: Magical Item (clothing)
Powers: The Rainbow mantle has two primary functions.
First, it holds a protective shield around Mallicos, his armor, and itself. While powerful enough to deflect depleted uranium bullets, it's primary purpose is to turn aside the initial thrust of an attack, allowing for an effective parry or block; this makes it great for deflecting bullets and arrows, but not nearly as effective a defense against melee attacks. It also adds a passive resistance against magic, particularly dark or corruptible magic.
More noteworthiy is how this power evolved over time; The Rainbow Mantle developed it's own will and a conscious desire to protect Mallicos. It is able to communicate with Mallicos as long as he is touching it; being as he never, ever takes it off, this is most of the time. It gained the ability to sense the motives of people approaching him (although it cannot see people, except through his eyes) and further to passively sense evil. Lastly, it is the source behind the adaptive ability of Mallicos's armor and sword; while it cannot change itself, it can direct the sentient armor more effectively and quickly that Mallicos himself can.
The second major ability is changing its color. Usually it is a dark blue color, but it can change depending on Mallicos's will, or depending on his mood. It also changes when in battle; the cloak slowly fills with maroon, corresponding to Mallicos's rage level, and drains as he uses rage techniques. It can also change color to adapt to it's environment.
WeaknessesThe Rainbow Mantle cannot move or act on it's own; it is wholly dependent on the person wearing it. Additionally, one must be touching The Rainbow Mantle in order to communicate with it.
Also, it can only sense motives directly related to Mallicos in non-evil beings, and only in a 10-foot range around him. Evil things just register as evil, regardless of intent.
Lastly, The Rainbow Mantle cannot change it's shape.
History: The Rainbow Mantle was originally just a cloak meant to protect against arrows, and initially meant as a gift for a new-born prince; the child, however, was still-born, and the King gave the cloak to Mallicos as a gift for destroying a bothersome spirit. Mallicos kept it with him all his days; it became a symbol of the man, and the image of the cloak became the symbol of the Orcish people.
Unfortunately, this ended when the Orcish people were crushed by what they would come to call The Dragons. For some fifty thousand years, it laid, occasionally passing from person to person, but always remembered the pure soul that once bore it. It was this memory that prevented it from going mad, like other magical possessions that had been left in the sundered world
After a time, life began to re-emerge into the world, and The Mantle was found and passed from person to person until it found Mallicos again. It has been blissfully happy ever since.
Even aside from all that, Mallicos cannot die. When killed, his physical body turns to ash, and his spirit is sent to a limbo-like dimension, where he usually finds a portal back to the physical realm, and returns in a pillar of fire, complete with his armor and weapons.
Weaknesses: A great deal of Mallicos's strength and stamina comes from his enchanted armor and sword; if damaged to a state where all of it's energy is devoted to regenerating, or just stripped of it entirely, Mallicos is much, much weaker. Furthermore, Mallicos's armor will not regenerate with him if it is separated from him before he is killed. However, Mallicos's armor is like a second skin to him, and his armor is both sentient and devoted to him; neither will part from the other willingly or easily.
Mallicos is also unfamiliar with the concept of death. This is, in a large part, because he cannot die, at least not permanently. To him, death means being sent to limbo and trudging over to the nearest resurrection portal, usually at a temple. He will not understand that it is permanent. This does not mean he will let his allies come to harm; he is familiar with pain and despair. But he may suggest letting himself or someone else be killed to further their mission. What's more, there may not be any resurrection portals in the world he is in.
Lastly, Mallicos cannot survive decapitation or heavy brain damage. However, this is much easier said than done, and he is never dead permanently.
Backstory: Among a society of warriors, Mallicos's parents were farmers. His father had lost a leg in battle, and his mother lost an arm to a beast, both some time before Mallicos was born. Both of them chose to work in the fields rather than seek out death. It was this outlook, that one's life was worth more than any perceived notion of strength, that Mallicos grew up in. It was completely contradictory to the Orcish way of life, but was eventually proven, at least in Mallicos's eyes, to be right. When some guild or another grew tired of his parents, and came to their small cottage intent on death; it took over fifty people, Orcs, Dark elves, and a spattering of trolls, to bring down two crippled orcs. And even then, the two expired from their wounds after the battle; none sent against them lived.
If this story doesn't seem to mesh with the details presented above, it's because Mallicos's world has changed drastically since then. Mallicos was actually born some fifty million years before we meet him, in a world on the brink of death. The people of the world were tearing themselves and their world apart; unknowingly, unintentionally, they brought to it several beings of unimaginable evil, beings that fed on fear and pain and despair. By the time their presence was noticed, and a force was collected to move against it, it was far, far too late to stop them. All of Nosgoth but her heart had been corrupted by their influence, and the entire army was crushed.
But they did not die. Nosgoth's heart itself was battling these creatures as well, and in doing so tore itself from the realm of death. The fate of those who fought these nameless beings was worse than death; thousands of years of torture, and madness afterwards. Even after the monsters that destroyed them fell comatose from hunger, their madness remained.
Nosgoth again intervened. Slowly, one at a time, it pulled powerful beings out of the realm of purgatory, and back into the world of the living, which was slowly rebuilding itself. Plants and animals, while still corrupted, were living and breathing. Survival was difficult, but not impossible. And there was hope. One at a time, people of all races began to re-appear, often without memories, and imbued with extraordinary power. Slowly, they began to rebuild. And eventually, they began to fight one another.
It was into this world Mallicos was re-born. Before, he had been one of seven leaders who had stood against the unspeakable horrors that ravaged the world. His torture had been among the worst, but he was also one of the strongest men on the continent before; he had endured much better than most, considering. Now? He was a weakling born into a world that valued strength above all else. Born with the ability to heal himself, he was made an armored fighter. Quickly, his former mindset; seeing the short-sighteness of the endless conflict they had engulfed themselves in, hatred of senseless violence, and an overwhelming desire to help those in need, took over again. And then the monsers awakened again. They were hungry. They were also weak, and those people who had come back were able to fight them off...but not kill them.
It is this world which Mallicos lives in. One where senseless violence is the norm, death is a momentary distraction, and the only sliver of hope is dependant on the world banding together. It is slim, but it is there. And that is all hope ever needs to be.
Mallicos scooped up a handfull of the small metal stones lying on the ground. Had they tried to fire them? Like quarrels in a crossbow? He had no idea how it had worked (other than not very well) but he presumed it was something like a crossbow. The small balls had been flattened by the force of the impact, in any case, which made them all but useless as weapons.
Mallicos popped one of the balls in his mouth and bit down. It had been covered in copper, and was made out of...something he couldn't identify properly, but tasted vaguely of pitchblend. Were they using a glass coloring mineral as a weapon? And why was it covered in copper?
What had happened here? Clearly there had been a battle; dozens bodies were strewn around, obviously assailed by someone much stronger than they. He was genuinely saddened by this. Such senseless violence benefited no one, not even the attacker; what could he hope to learn by fighting people so weak? But what was the attack over? Had the assailant been a prisoner of some kind? Presumably. The damage was going in, but started not far away from he was. But that still left the question of how it had escaped and, what's more, how it had been captured in the first place. What's more, why would he be going further into his prison? Was he so mindlessly hell-bent on destruction that nothing else mattered?
Whatever the case, there's no sense in staying here Mallicos thought, spitting the metal ball out of his mouth. And I don't want to find whatever did this. Thinking he heard people talking, he headed away from the carnage.
Damn it, I pressed the wrong button. Oh well. I'll add Mallicos's sheet to the page in a minute. And no, not all of my posts are going to be this long.
Harry just stares, confused, lost, perplexed, and other, similar phrases.
"Uh..." He said.
He just sat there, wondering what the hell is going on, why there was a cartoon, Indiana hasn't been killed yet, how he got here, what the hell that thing was, why there were tuns of clones... he was just confused.
"Hells bells, I'm drunk..." He said, "I must have spent too much time at McAnally's..." Or you could just be trying to reason to yourself how all this is possible, since there isn't any magic here.
"Oh shut up, brain."
He had to admit, though, he had a good point. Most of the supernatural things in Chicago goes unnoticed, simply because nobody WANTS to know that there's vampires, wizards, and other monsters. People like to say that there are goverment conspirisies to cover up the supernatural world, but in truth, there's no reason to have these things.
People do it themselves. And maybe I'm doing the same.
Peacock chuckled. "I think you need time to lay of the Booze there Bud! Talking to your brain is just plain crazy!" She said to Harry, the bird pocked it head of out Peacock's hat. "I got a feelin he might be confused about ya boss!" A question mark appeared above peacock's head. "Huh, why's that then?""Because of our....style....Boss..." Peacock snapped her finger. "Ah of course!" She said grinning.
Mallicos rounded the corner and stopped dead in his tracks. Several people were standing here, but most confusing was a...some kind of...witch...plant...maybe skeleton...birds popping out of her/it's hat...what?
I just got the image of you extending your neck to where you're an inch away from Mallicos. It's hilarious.
Calmly, slowly, Mallicos repeated a memorized introduction. It had saved him from a great deal of needless battle, and maybe had saved a few lives in the process.
"My name is Mallicos Kelsat. I'm an erun of the Orc people, but I'm not here to hurt you; I'm only passing through." He didn't sound like a warrior. He sounded more like a teacher or a doctor; someone calm and used to dealing with hysterical or senseless people. His voice wasn't as deep as you would think, either, and he sounded much younger than he looked.
Mallicos looked back to the corridor he had come from. "There was a massacre some ways that way; unless you have somewhere nearby or far away you need to be at very quickly, I would suggest we move now."
Peacock grinned and tilted her hat towards Mallicos. "I doubt you could hurt me anyways Bud! by the way the name's Peacock" She said to Mallicos, then lit up a cigar. "A massacre you say? Well heck If I'm sticking around here for that crap!" She added, then breathed out a smoke cloud.
Dresden looks at Mallicos.
"Orc? Really?" He said, remembering the times he's enjoyed a nice roleplay with the Alphas.
"God, what the hell is going on with me..." He mumbled.
Rugal looked in dismay as he lost his hand, while he lost before, he was hoping with his new body, he'd be lucky enough to keep this one.
Then the fact that Dillon came back to life Jesus style.
"......I miss the days when a Knife to the throat was all it took...." He sighed as he pulled out his radio and shouted "ALL UNIT'S, GET YOUR ASSES OVER HERE!".
Dillon saw all but one of the remaining VTOL'S began to appear overhead.
"I'll not come this far to lose again. Not like this...Not to you...OPEN FIRE!"
And thus they did, raining Lead and Missiles at Dillon's latest form.
As they did, Rugal broke off from the main offensive to try and find Viscus, He was going to need some of that Power Suppressant he created.
David watched as even more strange people showed up, Hammer must have been busy.
"....[sub]Where do these pricks keep coming from?[/sub]......ALRIGHT EVERYONE! I have no idea who you are, nor do I really care, but seeing as we are getting to know each other....
My name is David. David West. Some of you know me, others not. [sub]I fucking retiring after this, I mean it this time...[/sub]" David Groaned as he tried to figure out where to go next.
"Killing? Count me in! I LOVE to paint the town red!" Peacock said to David, then put out her cigar and pulled her pistol from her hat and twirled it. "That bastard wouldn't know what hit him, When Peacock get's on the scene!" She said Grinning, the bird also joined in with the grinning. "Don't worry, Ill back ya up boss!"
Dresden looks at David, "Okay." He said, "Well, lets get there." He said, "What are we dealing with, monsters, humans, Faeries?"
He redies his blasting rod and staff.
JFK Airport, IRL
The Heroes talked among themselves when suddenly a portal opened from G-Corp's Lab to right in front of them.
Out of it stepped a rather excited Violet and extremely annoyed Dani.
Violet laughed out loud and shouted "IT WORKED! I, VIOLET, HAVE SAVED THE HEROES FROM CERTAIN DEMISE! IT'S WONDERFUL! IT'S BRILLANT! IT'S....."
"EXCELLENT!"
If tumbleweeds existed in New York, one would roll by right now.
".......Hey guys, Just Kazuya sent us, thought you might need a hand getting back from.....Where-ever this place is..." Dani said, hiding her boiling anger at Violet for existing.
Luna took the hits, but one set her up for a move, with her eyes still closed, she began to revolve again, using the same move and sending bruiser flying again. She stopped spinning and was in pain as she was all but blinded. she calmed down and tried to focus.
The Lucario then began to glow blue as she slightly swayed from the confusion. She envisioned everything almost as clear as she did with her byakugan. So she stayed still, ready to use 8 trigram palm rotation if he got close again. She saw where he was through the aura, not needing her eyes at the moment.
[hr] Dani and Violet prior to New York
Dani really didn't care about what happened now. She could feel all those that were wrongfully killed were now in their popper place, back on earth. Thats when Dani came through the Nazi's portal again with jets attached like rip had attached to his legs. He hovered infront of them for a minute.
"Ok, whats up, anything new?"
"Yeah, everything is back to normal."
"So that means he's dead..."
"Probably."
"Great, now i'm pretty damn op. i think i'll go be evil now. See yah." Daniel said and flew back through the portal. Thats when akasumi came through Violet's poral.
"God, i hated that world. Everything was such a drag there." she said. Thats when the nin noticed something was a bit off.
"What just happened here?"
Bruiser was about to strike Luna when he saw her standing still with her eyes closed, She was looking at him with a Aura. {....Think I'm going to fall for that Twice? Think again, *****!}" He shouted as he primed one of his shoulder mounted Cannons and fired at Luna.
He didn't see her move before the shell hit, resulting in a sizeable explosion. {YEAH! Fuck you you Over-rated piece of shit! Gen 1! Gen 1! Gen 1" Ge-.....}
His cheering stopped when the smoke cleared it and he saw a burnt log fall from the sky, but no Luna, she used that Body Replacement trick again. {......Fucking Ninja's man....} He said as he tried to find Luna before she found him.
Captcha: Klatu Berada Nikto : ".....Hail Inglip?...."
