The dragon turned to Phoenix, and with Caim's assistance, relayed their tale of their valient gathering of the Islanders and the rebellion that they seeked to create. Caim was happy to chime in that they were doing their best to quell the Empire, especially with Akasumi's rise to power.
"I wonder if they're angry because we torched the palace?"
"You know, that is a possibility... We had the best intents in mind, however. I don't see how we are punishable in the afterlife for that sort of thing..."

Mr A appeared out of nowhere. "Think back, you had to create a rift to get here. Besides, I think that's what the circle are on about anyway. They have very strict ideologies when it comes to the continuum. I was the only one who got here by magic of void origin so I'm not being charged"

The dragon shook her head, "We were flying, and were absorbed by a bright light. The next thing we knew, we were in Japan."
Caim nodded, "Yeah! It was a ***** and a half to see after that, let me tell you!"
The dragon spoke again, "If anything, we wanted to leave after arriving in Japan. The goal to rid Japan of Akasumi came as a primary threat after that desire."

Feel free to BS another reason to have the Circle condemn Caim and Angelus. They did start a rebellion after all...

Suddenly one of the judges' voices boomed out of nowhere "however you incited a peaceful country to anarchy and as the records show, you could've avoided that bright light and/or stopped it. Don't fool me, Dragon, I know of all your kind's magic"

The dragon spoke up, "My species of dragon does not take part in such parlor tricks! We get by on our blood, teeth and wings alone! Myself and Caim knew not of what this light was! I only knew that the battle taking place upon the offending isle was getting out of hand. That did not concern my partner or myself, so we left. For all we know, it could have been an explosion of some kind."
Caim chimed in after her, "Besides, how could we have avoided the light? It appeared suddenly and enveloped us without warning! The dragon is not at fault at all! Also, we thought the country was doing badly, with this 'Snake Princess' was trying to take over. The people of the islands were clearly unhappy with their country. No one wants a rebellion, and is able to gather that large of a force, without having a great amount of malcontent for the country in question!"

"So apparently nothing I say will change their minds. Wake me up when this one sided bullshit is over," Matt said before turning off his ears and take a nap.

Phoenix was taking notes "What about this err... "rruuu-gal" character, you said something about him in you...speech with the judge?"
So much for retiring him, I explain what the story with him is later, for now just tell phoenix what your characters know about him

Angelus hurumphed at the judges, and said a few choice curses in the draconic tongue. Turning back to Phoenix, she gave him the basic rundown about who Rugal was, what he was doing, (to the best of herself and Caim's understanding) and why they allied with him. Caim was more than helpful in the explanation of things, especially where human matters concerned. The dragon was happy to have a verbal partner, for once.
When they were done explaining, Angelus looked to Phoenix. "You seem to be an honest man. Tell us, truthfully now, is what that man (Matt) right in what he says? It appears the judges have already passed their thoughts on us..."

Phoenix shrugged and looked down at that question
"Ahhh...I see..." Red replied.
Phoenix gave a determined stare "I promise I will do every thing I can to help you all...you have my word. You will get justice, I swear."

Mr A put his head in his hands." Unfortunately logic does not flow in the void dimension the same as in this one, and while you may have been entirely innocent, they see you as wholly involved, having gone through a rift and thus "tampering" with various things. The punishment will almost certainly be death or exile..." Mr A shuddered "To Hell Island. I'd honestly rather die than be sent there. Good luck on your future, friends. May we meet again."

Suddenly a bell sounded. "The establishment period is over! Please return to the main courtroom where evidence must be provided, or a legally biased outcome will be chosen as the punishment!" , a voice boomed.

you are aware Orinon cast himself as the prosecutor, right?
Phoenix said "Shit! thought I had more time..."
Dillon walked pass and said "wish you the best of luck...your going to need it..." in a smug manner as he went to the Courtroom.
Phoenix hid his extreme displeasure and said "Come on, we can't be late!"

Wonderful... Youmu was thinking as they walked back into the "courtroom". Between judges who see fewer shades of grey than that Yama-whatever girl and the fact that everyone was involved in breaking the timeline--timeline? Wait. Amaya told me this was a parallel world, not time travel. I missed the opportunity to tell the guy defending us - I'll have to put it in sometime myself...Or, wait. She leaned in close to Phoenix and whispered what she knew in his ear.

Phoenix processed this new info and sighed "uhhhh...don't think that will work, without some-body around to pin it on, it won't hold water...Wait..."
He began hatching a plan of attack.
"...A-HA! GOT IT! Where is Akasumi now?"

Yeah but the verdict hasn't been given from the prosecuting side, Dillon. Those were just a little too-eager judges

"State your case of defence!" one of The Circle roared.

Youmu looked around the courtroom, but couldn't see either Akasumi or Amaya. Seeing that she couldn't use her case right away and probably wouldn't get a second chance, she sat back down on the floor, waiting for the inevitable to happen.

Tech: Just thought you should know, have a plan for a subplot regarding that.
Orinon: got a plan for Dillon, it regards that love affair back in your Arc (The Castle One), When I bring it up later, you can decide what you want to do.
Phoenix quickly got up and said "Your Honor, My clients plead Not Guilty on all Charges."
