The unlikely duo walked away as the Golem detonated spectacularly.
"1 down, 3 to go. Shall we dance with the flames of war against another Golem?" Akane asked Aftan, looking up at the Knight.
"We need to stop them, did you have any specifics in mind?" Aftan replied to Akane...(Grumble).
"That blade of yours works better as a first strike weapon, opening the breach. From there, if you distract the Golem I can get a clean shot with a flame strike, focussed as a steady stream. I can carry a decent weight, I would say you wouldn't trouble me too much. You could ride on my back, make the opening and then use your teleport to stay out of harms way whilst I make the finishing strike." Akane laid out her plan.
"Are you saying I should ride you?!?" Aftan spluttered.
"Yes. It allows you to stay fresh, and focus on the first strike and teleport to safety. It should also act as an element of surprise, having to choose between two targets."
"(Grumble) It is not a bad plan..."
"Good. Hold on!" Akane said loudly as she swept up beneath Aftan's feet, allowing the Knight to grab ahold of her fur and hold on as the Kitsune began to run flat out at the next Golem. Aftan readied her tonfa as Akane got them closer. The Junk Golem spotted them and turned, smashing its flail into the ground as Akane expertly dodged it, stopping for nothing. Another swing and miss by the Golem, and they were there. Akane jumped to get Aftan at the right height. Aftan wasted no time, activating her blade and plunging it deep, using the momentum of the jump to do the hard work for her. As the Kitsune and Knight landed, a large glowing yellow slash opened the Golem's chest right up, even as the Golem bought its other arm up to slash at the two Heroes. Aftan teleported behind the Golem, and the swing went clean through the space she was in not mere moments ago. Akane ducked under the strike, running around and stopping on top of a still unsmashed car.
The Golem hesitated for a split second, unsure of which to attack first. Aftan however, wasted no time and struck and the back legs of the Junk Golem, forcing it to turn and face her. The Knight ducked under and through its legs, slicing once again and forcing it to turn back with a mighty downwards swing of its flail as it did so. Aftan teleported out next to Akane as the Golem's arm impacted with the empty space, leaving it wide open to Akane. The Kitsune's tails glowed bright yellow, and a stream of heavy fire burst forth, burning into the open chest wound of the Golem. Fire began to pour out of the cracks in its body before the Phylactery burst with a faint pop and the Golem began to melt from the inside out, finished.
