So I'm wondering how the "Matrix" badges work - are you unable to get any of them once you've been put on probation once, or does the amount of posts you need for that particular badge just reset once your probation is given? For example, let's say I have 950 posts, but then I get put on probation - does that mean I'll need to wait until 1950 posts until I get the Morpheus badge, or am I forever prevented from getting it? I've always been curious about that.

Um, why?

It doesn't have anything to do with contributing something meaningful to the forum, it just shows you the gif images you can get for achieving pointless and arbitrary milestones.

I mean, getting a badge for creating a popular user group isn't going to in any way affect the quality of one's posts or ability to debate effectively. It's a nice list, but that's all.

After any mod wrath, you can't get the badges at all. If you're put on probation you can't get any future matrix badges.

Well, I don't think that's very nice at all......... people should be given a second chance!

If you get wrath and you think it's unfair, you can PM a mod. He'll take you off probation/suspension/ban and clear your history. Otherwise, you've just got to be as well behaved as possible.

Nah, won't happen - I've only been put on probation once, but I definitely deserved it. I suppose I'll just have to live without the badges.

It was a badge for Christmas last year that was assigned randomly to users. Long story short, if you didn't join before Christmas '08, you can't obtain the badge.

33. To get them all, you need to play 5,000 times and [a href=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/global/registration/invite.php]recruit[/a] 10 new users to the site.

[user]smartmoose[/user], [user]ollathir[/user] and myself are tied at 30 badges, and no one has managed to get all 33.

Actually, I have 30 badges as well I'm just not on the leader board. And I definitely don't have the dedication to take 1000 battles, let alone 5000. That's what holding me back.

[user]Portal Maniac[/user] has it in his top four. He was the one who informed us about it in the first place.

I've asked the Tech Team about it and if they knew anything that's an issue they'll hopefully be able to have it sorted out by Monday/ Tuesday.
