Also which key is it written in? It looks like A minor from your video with the A flats...
The score (and my piano-playing friend) tell me it is F Sharp. This is all I can say, as I know not much more. GCSE music teaches you how to play, not how to read/discern unfortunately. Fortunately, I have a friend who can teach me.

Awesome! I love it! I remember watching Stargate all those years ago, and I always enjoyed the opening theme for it, so hearing it on the piano was great to hear!

You do miss the use of a pedal though, those silences between bars could be expertly meshed together with one, but sadly that is one of the limitations of a keyboard, that and no volume variation. Still these things aren't your fault, so what you've done is great! I'd love to hear your next piece (Super Mario something from memory?)
Thank you much for the compliments. And yes, it is the Super Mario theme. I will upload it to youtube either within the next few hours, or tomorrow afternoon. I have it near perfect, but a couple of the baselines sound a little clumsy due to the fact that I was inexperienced.

Also yeh, I do miss the use of pedal I get at school and at my friend's house on a real/slightly better electric piano. Sounds no where near as good. Also, the electric I use at school has certain effects I can implement that make it sound close enough to the real thing you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. For shame...XD

Hmmm... F sharp. I'm looking at the circle of fifths;

And none of the F keys (F major, F sharp major, F minor and F sharp minor) seem to fit... hold on I'll have another proper look.

If you keep on practicing and get a real piano it really improves you heaps, that's what happened to myself. I went from being rubbish on keyboard to slightly better on piano, the pedal and ability to change volume makes a huge difference. I'm looking forward to Super Mario Brothers! And it's nice to see another piano player on here!

I hope this meets the grade, your piano playing was pretty nice...way to set the bar high in the first post...bastard.
Not amazing, but it's of my own composition.
That was awesome.

Hopefully the band kicks off.

You're too kind, my friend.

Currently, the band doesn't exist. My first choice of band members have uni to deal with, or have moved to Australia to live with a girl they tried to dump not long ago...

I haven't resigned myself to defeat just yet. I have alot of material(lyric writing needs to be a little more decisive, though) and a few public appearances under my belt now, which went rather well! Things look promising.

Thanks for your interest!

Hey I am a bassist and I have been playing for a few years (I may post some of my music here) and I have a little constructive criticism.

Please turn up the bass amp it will help with your synchronization, also try not using a pick and see how it sounds.

Keep Practicing!
I think you might have accidentally quoted me instead of handofpwn!
/facepalm

Yea I did I'm sorry haha.

But uhm yea...you should turn up your bass amp as well...*runs away*

My semi educated guess is there is a fair bit of accidentals in that tune. Some of the notes sound pretty colourful.

I'm far from a Piano player though haha, so don't quote me on that one.

True, but there seems to be heaps of white keys and not many sharps or flats... I can't figure it out!

I have a Roland, electric drum kit. So recording drums is fairly straight forward(and fairly real sounding) for me. The problem being...my drum skills are entry level, check my 2 vids to see what I mean...I think Muse is going to be beyond my drum capability.
It doesn't have to be Muse, we could really play any song we wanted to. That's why we're having this discussion, to work things out about well... everything I guess. It's a big project!
I'm pretty sure I can handle Starlight on bass. Idk how great my recording capabilities are, but I can give it a shot.

Cool! I still need to produce Another Brick in the Wall on piano but I'm having trouble with it and finding time seeing as I've finally finished uni yet am now working around 40 hours a week, gah! That and I seem to be learning Beethoven's 5th Piano Concerto whenever I find myself on there practicing rather than the other one...

Yes it is great to be here to be honest. I was looking for a musical place and didn't realize it would be the escapist...I have been here for months and I didn't notice!

Also, my piano has the capability to change volume based on how hard you hit, but it is too sensitive unlike a real piano.

Also also, I am certain after 4/5 weeks of studying the score and playing it, that I have stargate completely down except the annotated mistakes and a couple others. I might re-record and try again. I was practising today and got it 100% perfect with minimal effort. Woop!

Also also also, I have begun, and am about a 5th through, learning STILL ALIVE BY JONATHAN COULTON!!!

EDIT: although it is supposed to be in F Sharp, it does say on the score to play (I think) every single F as Natural, so it might be a mistake the arranger never sorted.

EDIT 2: Just had a proper look at that circle, and I can say the notation above the G Major section is what appears on my score. Hope that helps!

Well it is in G major, but you don't hit many F keys in the song! Lots of accidentals though, no wonder I couldn't pick it!

I would also love to see Still Alive! That would be great! I'm slowly finding time to practice Beethoven's 5th Piano Concerto and Enigma Variations on the violin in amongst stupid work... might be a few weeks until I can put another video up.

Yeah, I have still alive to the chorus both left and right hands...right hand I can do the whole song. Shall learn as soon as possible!!!

Ok I found some videos that my friend's dad uploaded to YouTube. See, I play guitar in my church band sometimes and my friend plays drums. His dad works at the church as... something technical so he works at the sound booth. He set up 2 cameras during the first time we ever played on stage a while ago. Since it's his son playing on drums, the videos mostly feature my friend, but you can still hear me. I am playing the electric guitar and you can kind of see me standing in front of the drummer, except I was wearing a black t-shirt and a black hoodie like I always do and the lighting wasn't the best. I am also not the one singing. I can't sing like that. The second video also has a bit of an audio-visual delay but you can still hear it. And one last thing... this is the straight raw audio. I wasn't using my regular pedals so I think it sounded a bit weird and I don't think that I did very well. This is what the studio heard and not what the audience heard so that's another reason that my playing sounds a bit off.

Something me and a friend did. I'm on drums. (Also if someone could tell me how to properly link a video, that would be great.

Not bad. Can't really think of any criticisms of it [the drums--I don't play guitar] currently. If I think of anything I'll edit it into this post.

EDIT: Forgot to mention this, but I did fix it for you. What you have to do is type [ youtube=cO_X93ZjdeA] for that specific video (that is The code for the video you want[/i]]). For a better idea of it, just quote this post or the second post in this thread.

As for me, I was planning on doing a few contributions at some point, but my camera now seems to hate Youtube, and any video uploads onto my computer won't upload onto Youtube for some reason. Strange seeing as it has worked before.

I'll put these new videos into the OP later on tonight, right now I'm a tad busy. Life and all. They look great though! Hopefully I can get my video of Beethoven's 5th Piano Concerto up in time for Christmas.

Oh I seem to have forgotten to mention the actual titles of the songs that I posted... the first song is called "Happy Day" and the second one is called "The Stand." I kind of like have the actual titles over "Church Song 1/2" as they are now. Sorry about that.

Also an update for Neonbob about me learning that In Flames song... I have like 80% of it completely down and ready for recording, it's just that In Flames tunes so insanely low that when I play it on my sissy light strings it sounds pretty sloppy with distortion and playing In Flames without distortion is like an insult. It just sounds like a big distorted mess right now. So... unfortunately until I get thicker strings or something the project is on hold. I'll probably upload a new video before then but it won't be In Flames.
