It's have to be commented on hourly, and a mod might have to pin it up. Most of the new members are just bouncing from thread to thread like I do.
If it gains enough momentum and people take notice of it it might inspire the mods to post it up officially. People have to get behind this sort of thing for it to truly work.
I guess...
I mean I like the collection of links. It is helpful for newbies and I wish I had had it when first starting here.

I would suggest adding the "post a picture of you" thread
That's not a bad idea.. I'll do that (I didn't post a picture of myself on it, just commented on the fact that if people wanted to see what I looked like they can squiz at my profile pic.)

To be honest, I think this thread wins at life. As the bookmark limit is three (at least the ones that are displayed on the forum), it means I can just bookmark this one rather than pick three out of the list, which is what I used to do. (I sincerely hope somebody understood what I meant then). Point is, I hope you get 'thanked' for this. It's ace.

Thankyou, the hope is that it might be pinned up next to the official Escapist community map so that members have quick and easy access to some of the more popular and enjoyed threads on this site.

I understand what you mean about the bookmarking thing as well, it only displays the three most recently commented on threads. Hopefully this will go some way to alleviating that somewhat.

I still think it needs some sort of official backing... but the mods will decide what they want to do with it if anything at all. I'll leave it in their capable hands.

We already have a community map stickied, we don't need a second one. Having said that, many of these threads could be added to the community map if their creators so desired it. If you prefer this thread then I suggest bookmarking it as that will put the thread at the top of the forum for you.

Fair enough. Prehaps it should be up to the individual thread creators to request their threads be placed on the official community map or just leave them on here, its up to them.

That's always been my policy, if they want extra exposure for an important or interesting thread they can always request a spot on the community map. Not shutting this thread down, just letting you know that we have no plans to add more stickies right now.

No problem at all, I've added what you just said to the OP so the thread creators know exactly where they stand :)

You forgot our two user webcomics: The Iron Ninja's 'Adventures in Ninja Cookery' and Anarchemitis + x434343's 'Half Fortress'.

The latter of which, I don't think is still running. A shame, I enjoyed it quite a bit.

Add in SimuLord's 'How to write a Review (or whatever it was called) as well, but avoid RPs like the plague in this community map. Once upon a time it would have been okay, but now only a select few good ones are running. For example, Darth Mobius' (previously Larenxis') 'The Escapist Election' and The Sorrow's 'The Ratings War II - Set The World on Fire'.

I hope that helps.

You don't happen to have them bookmarked do you? Otherwise its going to take me a little while to find them all (search button....). I was wondering if the Iron Ninja's comic should be added.

If you have them bookmarked please let me know, if not don't worry mate, it's up to me to search for them.

Luckily for you, I have.

I'll dig around for Simulord's thread, but I'm not making any promises. I can't remember the name of the thread, you see.

Thankyou for your help. The two webcomics are up, I'm about to add the RP ones. Do you know which forum Simulords thread was in? That might help track it down.

Off-Topic, I'm searching for it as we speak.

BAM!

Hope that helps, I'll try and think of the other awesome threads of the past, and post them later.

Ah hah! You legend, I've never actually seen that thread. Thanks heaps, I'll add it to the list. Hopefully people start to find this thread useful with a few more links added to it.

Before I go, Wilson did a couple of awesome "Wilson's Internet Travel Guide" threads or something like that. I can't remember the names, can't remember the links and I don't know how many he made, so you should probably ask him.

Other threads include Decoy Doctorpus, NewClassic and Khell Sennett's rants, but they too will be absurdly hard to track down.

I'll give Wilson a PM to ask if he wants it to be added, as for the others as more people discover this thread those sort of links will pop up as people remember them. I did always wonder what Khell Sennett wrote that managed to get 1000 replies...
