In a "dark and stormy night" known as my bedroom, I was listening to some music when all of a sudden this song came on during the PSP shuffle:
It got me thinking of other "spooky scary" songs to listen to... Like this!

And this!
And these!
But, not this!
(Because it was always replaying inside my own head...)
And yet, this all got me thinking of this one, simple question:

What music would The Escapist constitute as "spooky scary" music, for example?

Perhaps it stretches the definition of "music" a little, but how about the soundtrack for the Shalebridge Cradle from Thief: Deadly Shadows?

And perhaps more conventional but certainly not without atmosphere of its own, the soundtrack for The House of Widow Moira.

I've got a few...

How about a musical horror story?

Or perhaps something more subdued is in order? The Squirrel Nut Zippers have you covered!

Oh, can't forget Nox Arcana - this sort of thing is ALL they do!
Also, most of their work is purely instrumental - no lyrics describing the horror leaves you, as listener, free to imagine your own!

Finally, a Halloween classic:
For those unfamiliar with this iconic piece, it is a musical depiction of the Grim Reaper entering a graveyard with his fiddle, inviting the dead to come up from their graves and dance until the rooster crows.

Enjoy!

I got a few songs for you folks.

You like creepy circuses?

And who could forget:

Both versions are enjoyable, though I personally tend to lean towards the Marilyn Mansion version.

I hope you find these meagre offerings spooktaculous enough.
