OT: Well, I actually recognize most people, but if I have to say certain names, it's those two quoted, Hub and Furb.

EDIT: There are a lot more (and believe me when I say a lot), but these are the people that spring to mind when I think "The Escapist".

Furburt, mainly because he (or she? I have no idea) posts all the time. Generally intelligent stuff coming your way from him.

Cpt. Oblivious, mainly because I was going to go to the UK Escapism thing, and he was one of the bigger names in terms of posts there

Oh and CakeDragon, because I know her personally, and she has a decent music taste (But needs room for improvement! )

I forgot his name, but a few years back there was a guy who had a picture of uncle sam pointing at you and would constantly make well thought out, large text threads about issues in the world and gaming, though sometimes he might strike a little too close to home and cause some people to report him. I don't remember his name or if he's still around, but I liked the guy. Though I think there was one post he did that I was against, but other than that, he put a LOT of time in his work.

Oh, and seriously, 5 digit post counts are scaring me. I guess the whole user group thing makes sense, but my goodness, that's just insane. Especially when some of these people have only been here for a year! I remember two years back when you were one of the few to hit one thousand posts and not be banned or leave the site. Some of these post counts remind me of another site I disliked after a while where people could spam their way to a high post count and the mods didn't care. I hope that's not the case here.

I've got quite a few...pretty much anyone who's talked with me in PMs for any amount of time. But there are some standouts.
ShockValue. I talk to this guy nearly every day, and he's just awesome.
Daye.04. This guy is responsible for addicting me to this site.
Fanboy made the avatar that I love so much.
Berethond, SeanTheSheep, PortalManiac, Zombie_Fish, and Empireth are all people who have kept me entertaine in PMs during my time here, and so get a special mention.
And there are more. But I'm lazy right now, and don't particularly feel like listing them all.

That dude who used to have the avatar with the terminator with the top hat. That dude was awesome. What happened to that dude? It used to be about the music.

This guy is also one lovably crazy fucker. I want to have his love bastard. In my head.

If memory serves me correctly Max ended up pushing the mods too far by telling someone out right to F*** off, even though he had been warned in the past for such remarks. Though I was never fond of the guy/chick (Anyone find out in the end if it was a guy?), thought he was somewhat conceited.

Ahh I see. I'm hardly surprised - "Fuck off" or a variation thereof was Max's signature line There does seem to be a lot less hate now he's gone.....

I'm 90% positive he's a guy. I've even had the (non-)pleasure of chatting to him on Twitter on occasions.

Hm, hard to say, but I'd say TimeLord, mostly because he's the owner of "The Escapist TARDIS Crew", as well as knowing way too much about Doctor Who, and for making awesome threads about time travel. He's a nice guy.

Well, Furburt and Hubilub because they just pop up everywhere. Neonbob for the famous nuke the whales avatar. Then there is MaxTheReaper, he was pretty entertaining before the ban, enough that I remember him pretty well.

(I'm not mentioning everyone in the Escapist Headbanger's user group even though I talk to them so much, there are too many<I'm lazy>)

You mean the miscarriage didn't actually happen? That would actually kinda make some sense now that I think about it...

That thread got like a 100+ pages worth of posts.

Yeah I mean they were going to call the kid Leia. That hit me as far too ridiculous, plus I saw a 'couple' do the same thing on another forum so it instantly struck me as some weird elaborate troll.
And then so soon after to post porn links (I think that had something to do with one being banned) in the forum of the community that helped you through such a tough time...Sounds like a bored kid with waaaay too much free time on his hands.

Yeah, sadly that wasn't some kind of elaborate troll. Darths Mobius and Empyrean were, way back when, during my "generation" of The Escapist, forum regulars and were pretty well known. They were married, they had a kid, it turned out to be a miscarriage. And yes, before you ask, they really were that into Star Wars that they named their daughter Leia.

Anyway, Leia died and the pair informed the Escapist community because, at the time, the forum regulars were already very aware that Empyrean was pregnant. Mobius gives the update, some people were "less than sensitive" (big surprise there, this being the internet) and eventually he went off the bloody deep end.

So yeah, true story.
