Slightly more obscure I'd say, but that's half the fun.

Jesus, every time I set a metaphorical foot into one of these threads all of the names are always different. I know that I stopped being a "regular" and sinked into the shadows a ways back, but has it really been that long?

Feh, with the exceptions of @Labyrinth and @NewClassic I doubt there's a name I could list off that anyone would recognize. Still, we'll give it a shot.

Nah. You spam here, you get banned, simple enough. Don't worry, all my posts are totally legitimate.

Believe me though, user groups is the main reason. The user group PRIATE (The one I use most) has 100,000 posts in the chat alone, and that's just one of many.

That's good to know, well, I guess. I don't understand why user groups count towards post counts, but eh, nothing to do about that. And wow, 100k in PRIATE What do you guys talk about there? That's crazy, hah!

Yeah, sadly that wasn't some kind of elaborate troll. Darths Mobius and Empyrean were, way back when, during my "generation" of The Escapist, forum regulars and were pretty well known. They were married, they had a kid, it turned out to be a miscarriage. And yes, before you ask, they really were that into Star Wars that they named their daughter Leia.

Anyway, Leia died and the pair informed the Escapist community because, at the time, the forum regulars were already very aware that Empyrean was pregnant. Mobius gives the update, some people were "less than sensitive" (big surprise there, this being the internet) and eventually he went off the bloody deep end.

So yeah, true story.

Feel free to call me a cynical pessimist, but was there any rock solid evidence for this being true all was word the only thing that people could go on?
If it was true though, damn, hard break. Guess Mobius learnt the hard way that the internet can be a very cold place indeed.

Well, other than numerous pictures of the pair many months/a couple years prior to this happening, cluing everyone in as far as what they look like so it was pretty obvious that it was them in the pictures that they posted after the miscarriage, the majority of which probably can't be seen anymore due to both a removal of posts from The Escapist and photos simply being deleted from hosting sites as time goes on... no, there isn't any proof I can pull out anymore.

I'm sure "evidence" still exists on this site, but I sure as hell don't have the will to look for it, and I doubt anyone else does either.

And yes, the internet can be, and often is a very cold, unfriendly place...

Of the people active on the Escapist right now, probably Furburt. I've never had any interaction with him (besides maybe quoting/being quoted by him once, I think), but he seems a pretty cool guy, and is hard to miss because of just how fucking much he posts.

Oh, and does anyone know who I was talking about earlier? The guy who made those big well researched rant threads a year ago or so? Didn't his name begin with a K? I don't know, that's the only person I remember from a year ago that isn't here today that I remember.

I remember Furbert, tellmeimaninja, Neonbob, Hubilub, and RoganWilson but just because he is my little brother IRL.

People who are No longer with us I remember are MaxtheReaper and NoMoreSanity I thought both of them were funny NoMoreSanity more often then Maxy but they were both cool guys.

Edit: Oh and Jack and Calumon. I remember them because I was thinking of making Sten From DA:O my Avatar and at the end of every post writing Sten disapproves x amount but then I saw Jack and Calumon and my dreams were crushed
