The Escapist Update: Some time on

Now, if you recently joined the Escapist, you my not understand this thread, but...
Set you minds back a while, think back to the last major update on the Escapist

Now, in my Info Tech Class, we were always told to wait a few months before evaluating a project, and here we are...

I've given it time, and now we may pass judgement on the 'new' Escapist...
I can remember the old one, and I must say this one has indeed grown on me, it has gained my tick of approval
But the old format, in my mind, will always be the original Escapist for me...
So what do we all think of the 'new' Escapist, given now we've had time to get used to it?
I give it a thumbs up and a pat on the back, do you?

I second that, I'm liking this setup and the easy to navigate menu bars and stuff.

I can´t even remember the old layout anymore. This is the way The Escapist looks today, so this is the way I take it. It´s all fine and dandy.

I prefer this one, it's easier to navigate and it has a thing showing which friends are online too.

this layout is a lot better ( i lurked for about a year before i joined).

easier to navigate, a lot more user friendly generally

the only difference that i really noticed is that the colour scheme has changed. i don't use any of the new features people seem to be mentioning.

so it doesn't really bother me either way. although i do prefer the new colour.

I made a thread like this. I'll say what I said there; for the most part, I'm ok with the changes. Something that does annoy me, though; when someone is banned/suspended etc, and the offending post gets hidden. The "xxx was suspended for this post" text goes down the page, over the next post instead of just staying on one line. Other than that, I barely remember how it was before.

The only complaint I have with the new layout is the video sections. If you want to find old episodes or watch De-Rez you have to do a search though google. I dont even know if there are links to video archives any more.

Hehe same here, this layout works better I guess, only the front page is a leeeetle less informative now.

All I can find on the old layout was a page from November 2007, when I started to lurk here bloody hell it took me over a year to sign up, and I do like to new layout much more easier to navigate.

i have grown to like this new format but it seem like it is harder to view older videos

I keep getting weird error messages (error 707) for the new videos shown on he front so I have to fuss around and refresh to get them to work bt otherwise I am find with this new layout. The bigger concern to me is that I am sensing that Mr. Crenshaw is getting bored with ZP. I hope Escapist host the other show he is trying to get of the ground "Game Damage", he may have more enthusiasm for that than what he appears to be having for ZP.
