When you talk, a bubble pops up to show who's talking. With Alltalk on, everyone can see it. I spoke and there was a pyro above me, the speech bubble came through the floor.

Particularly since the nice Halloween themed stuff is out.

Anyone up for TF2 tomorrow? I think it's the last chance people get to play the Halloween maps/achievements etc, and I want a video of the halloween-ness.

Something I picked up from the Steam forums for the German and Aussie Escapists:
[HEADING=1]Adding Gore back to L4D2[/HEADING]

Enabling gore in the censored Aussie versions of the L4D2 demo is as easy as editing 1 character in 2 text files:

Change the app id 590 to 510 in these two files:

Save them and run the left4dead2.exe executable directly (not through steam icon/games list). This should be located in a directory like C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2 demo, just like the first file above.

Your status will say that you're playing "Left 4 Dead Dedicated Server", but the L4D2 Demo will start and you'll be able to play with gore enabled (no more disappearing zombies, more blood, decapitations/dismemberment, splatter on the screen, etc.!)

You will also still be able to start lobbies, invite friends and join games in progress on servers.

Being as the number of Escapists playing Killing Floor seems to have rocketed in the last week, I figured we'd better have a proper group for it.

Throwing a casual bump in here, just to say that [HEADING=1]Cold Case[/HEADING] for L4D is pretty amazing, played through what I reckon is about half of the 10 maps last night, with any luck we should finish it tonight. Well worth the download, and I've got a mate who runs a server with it on if anyone wants a go. Be warned though, it's a LONG campaign, you're unlikely to finish it in one sitting (unless you happen to have the day off at the same time as three friends, and no-one to hassle you off the machine after the first 5 hours...)

Throwing a casual bump in here, just to say that [HEADING=1]Cold Case[/HEADING] for L4D is pretty amazing, played through what I reckon is about half of the 10 maps last night, with any luck we should finish it tonight. Well worth the download, and I've got a mate who runs a server with it on if anyone wants a go. Be warned though, it's a LONG campaign, you're unlikely to finish it in one sitting (unless you happen to have the day off at the same time as three friends, and no-one to hassle you off the machine after the first 5 hours...)

Shame about the bug/broken/we are stupid part3, but it really is amazing.
