Right, I'm very much a citizen on Great Britain, and as such I'm very much British. Now, there tends to be a thing that America doesn't get Europe, and no doubt visa versa, even something as simple as sport. Football in America resembles rugby in Britain, but British football is the same in every other part of the world (soccer for those across the pond)

recently I joined my University's American Football team and well, I very much see the appeal and can't get enough of it.

I was just wondering if any of you europeans out there see things in an American view. E.g. A Cheese burger counts as a good meal, American football is fun and cricket doesn't amke any sense.

I'm sure i've said something here which offends someone, so, i wish to make it clear that this is not my aim, I'm pointing out how we view each other stereotypically. The fact is, if anything, I'd be better off in America......maybe?

is there text coming or is this an ironic "theres no words to describe the Euopean POV" thread?

American football = rugby for turn based RTS fans (watching it that is; playing it is fun)
Baseball = worse than cricket (though being at a baseball stadium is much more fun than at a cricketfield)
Cheesebuger does not = a good meal; but it sure is good

Mostly I just look at america and think "What on earth are they doing", and "How exactly is that a good Idea" and various phrases like this!

They (Americans)need a Royal family just like the English as pledging allegiance to a piece of clothe seems a little strange to me. We English folk sing the national antham sparingly whereas don't you americans sing it at every availible opportunity. I also heard Americans are troubled with the concept of irony also.

EDIT: Tongue firmly in cheek boys/gals

Also are frat parties like the films?

I never understood that, in films the characters go through a house party high fiving or shaking hands with absolutly everyone, house parties do not happen that way in the UK.

Yes, but with less censoring.

I've always thought Europeans had better candy than us. The Brits don't nance about when it comes to chocolate bars and the Germans have dedicated 44 years of quantum physics research to perfecting the gummy bear. We've still got you beat on Jelly Beans though.

Do they fuck, could you image that if we did that? Look like prats "hey guy" "hey" "hey" "hey guys" LOL But these stereotypes must originate from somewhere.

thats because some of the ingredients needed for good chocolate doesn't grow in the US, it needs to be imported, odd thing is Cocoa plants dont grow in Europe though!

You can keep you jelly beans and jolly ranchers Jack, if that all you got on us apart from grits waffles and taco bell then I know I'm onto a winner. You also can't brew beer and the fact that you don't get 'ale' illustrates that point.

We have our own variant, called tiffin, though it may not have the same boisterous connotations.

Apparently Americans don't get sarcasm and irony I'm told, I'll take British television over American television any day. (Although I do enjoy desperate housewives and scrubs)

Goatlemon's top three things to come out of Europe and the United States.

In no particular order BTW, despite the numbering.

United States of America
1. Aqua Teen Hunger Force.
2. Google.
3. Guns N' Roses.

Europe
1. Belgian chocolate.
2. European cars. (Skoda not included.)
3. British comedy.

In conclusion; they're both good, and just about every country has something good to offer. We now live in a world where you can easily get a slice of another culture by eating their food, enjoying their entertainment, talking to it's people on the Internet, or flying there and immersing yourself.

Why restrict yourself to one way when there are so many interesting and incredible things in the world?

PS I'm Australian, so I'm a third party in this.

This is going to devolve into nationalism, isn't it? Keep your beer, we do whiskey way better.

You have obviously never tasted a west highland single malt or an Irish single malt. You do not do better whisky, not by a long shot! and all the experts of the whole world agree with me on this!

Well as orifice said. When I look at America I often find myself wondering "What the f*ck are they doing"
