America has Metallica
Correction: America has...

Death
Agalloch
November's Doom
Iced Earth
Nevermore
Symphony X
Nile

Many others you could have mentioned in that case.

You can't use selective reasoning to argue your point.
I am American. I am making a point for music in general. Hell, Alizee Jacotey (French pop singer) is better than most proper "bands" over here in America.

Of course, but I was just popping that off the top of my head before I moved on. In any case, I'm also sure that Britain has it's share of crappy pop music.

Yes, but with less censoring.

I've always thought Europeans had better candy than us. The Brits don't nance about when it comes to chocolate bars and the Germans have dedicated 44 years of quantum physics research to perfecting the gummy bear. We've still got you beat on Jelly Beans though.
If these are English (which I doubt) then I beg to differ http://www.sweetstall.com/acatalog/Jelly_Bean_Factory_Beans_Gourmet_Beans.html

I may be quite tired, at this stupid hour...

But aren't turn based strategies and real time strategies opposites of one another?

I'm trying to avoid this thread just because it's an issue that will get the best of me but, I assure you, Jelly Belly is an American company that is based in California. I visited their factory, did the tour, and even got to see the creepy place they make vomit flavored jelly beans. It smells exactly like what you think it smells like.

I had a british five year old on COD4 tell me today to go stuff a cheeseburger in my mouth...He actually expected me to be offended...I made some teeth jokes and we got into a full fledged country bout...which isn't right because the UK is awesome...but a five year old can make me lose all sanity faster than Miley Sirus singing her shitty songs...

thats because some of the ingredients needed for good chocolate doesn't grow in the US, it needs to be imported, odd thing is Cocoa plants dont grow in Europe though!
You can keep you jelly beans and jolly ranchers Jack, if that all you got on us apart from grits waffles and taco bell then I know I'm onto a winner. You also can't brew beer and the fact that you don't get 'ale' illustrates that point.
Oh, come on, one of the things that's actually good about the U.S. is that they don't brew ale. The stuff's flat, as no body and most types taste horrid.
I never admire the brits for their skill in brewing beer. I admire them for the vast quantities of quality scotch they can present. The stuff's like crack to me.

Also, Europe has the best of all worlds packed together in one little convenient part:

-Britain: Scotch
-Germany: Beer
-The Netherlands: Weed

Aren't we a peach :)

I had something similar happen as well except on World in Conflict until a Russkie started cussing him out for not shutting the fuck up.

I am neither American nor European but I would like to know why Americans still use the Imperial system of measurement.

I know American beer sucks, but we have better soda so it all balances out.

Mountain Dew > ANY beer out there

That's right, I said it.

No. Just no.

By the way, there is good American beer. The stock brands like Bud, Miller, etc. are crap, but they're also cheap, so it's to be expected. We also have things like Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, which are actually quite good.

Listen Euroes, usually I'm not one to bicker about "omg we're the best" but I'm tired of this slamming of american beer. You have no right! I've tasted spaten, and its no wonder your inbev chaps bought anheyser-busch. Its practically the same stuff.

Blame it on prohibition. in 1900 there were ~1800 breweries operating in the US. In 1980, there were 44. Its been a difficult march back.

The american megabeer industry is changing in response to the american microbrew industry. So yes, while the mass produced "pilsner" is the american beer that ends up exported to your shelves, throughout much of this great country there is plenty of truly unique and amazing beers to be had. Not only that, but the american homebrewer is a new beast, and thats where the real excitement in american beer is. including me. And I've brewed some ales that would knock your clogs off.
