Unarmed, the only style I know is running away really, really fast.

If, however, I had a sword, I'd be able to hold my own pretty well. I've fenced for several years, so I think I could handle someone in a fight with one. As long as it's light enough to be used one-handed.

I know no martial arts of any sorts, but I'm actually a good fighter. I have video games and fighting movies to thank.

Really, I have good reflex times and can block and counter-attack most offensive moves.

I've been doing Judo since I was 5, Box twice a week and am going to take up Kickboxing on the side. I reckon I can look after myself.

I don't know. I think I got a yellow belt in karate once, but I don't consider it something I could use in a fight. I never really have to fight, anyone who starts throws fighting words my way never seem to do anything about it. Maybe it's a combination of me being tall, broad, barrel-chested, and the fact that I don't cower. I don't think I'd be very good in a fight, but I guess being able to prevent a fight counts for something as well. It's not all looking tough mind you, I usually supplement it with a great deal of me being awesome at talking people out of or into doing things.

Besides; grabbing his hair? Street moves don't work.
You'd be surprised. Run a google search for "jail yard rush."

The think about fighting is that people FEEL like they can take on someone but the truth is you can never be quite sure

Experience trumps anything else in my opinion. If you try to spar with a street fighter, he's gonna kick your ass. If you can swing some numchuks for competition but have never actually USED them on somebody, a guy with a length of pipe or chain will own you. If you know how to do an armbar, but have never tried on someone punching you in the ribs, chances are you won't succeed. If you are used to shooting targets but have never had to point a gun at a man, you probably aren't gonna pull the trigger. A man's attitude and experience have everything to do with fighting, not just the knowledge difference. It's those basic instincts that separate an enthusist and a professional fighter.
Words that every self-defense enthusiast should take to heart.

Um...I'm pretty fast at running.

So my tactic would be kick them in the balls(presuming the attacker is male) and run the hell away.

As for actual training, I've had none.

Being an artist, I know a lot about human anatomy, meaning I know many of its weaknesses and how to exploit them, if necessary. It is surprising how many ways one can defend oneself with nothing more than a pencil. I have a strong dislike of violence, as even a person mentioning they had a paper cut makes me weak in the knees. Funny though, as I love to fight, as long as the other party is willing and it is not over something stupid or harmful, beyond just enjoying the combat.

I am hoping to take up a martial art again though, I took a bit of Taekwondo when I was younger, but I never really got into it back then. There are a lot to choose from, and I have not really decided yet what I want to take.

I find avoiding getting into physical confrontations as being the best overall way of handling them in the greater scheme of life. Raw cunning ever remains the best weapon humankind has at its disposal.

using long words to confuse the enemy.
punch to the nose.
stomp on the enemy's toes really hard.
or a special advanced fighting style called "boot to the balls".

if you use all of those at wants you should stand a pretty chance. unless your enemy is Iron Man.

I've been taking karate lessons for a while, but I also do a little boxing with my friends and I know how to use a gun.

knives are freaking useful man.
Don't worry, your life will most likely never depend on it. Knives are almost useless for self-defense. Partly because you probably won't get the chance to actually pull the knife out by the time you realize you're being attacked, and because knives are lethal weapons and have a lot of legal issues tied to them, and because any situation that would warrant lethal force is something you should just run away from.
true, but i friend of mine killed a dog that attacked him with his bigass bowie knife that he got because he has inadequacy issues, hes not the type to have randomly killed a stray dog or anything, and he was all scratched up so i was inclined to believe him him.
But yeah, i keep my knife around to open things and cut stuff primarily, good for whittling too, though that is more for curing boredom than utility.
