Bethesda deserve to keep the franchise more than Interplay do, as they've been cracking out great games (mostly *cough*Wet*cough*) and Interplay have done...well, nothing.

well (I think) the only reason they didnt have vechles in fallout3/newvegas is it would upest the gameplay, you would spend alot of time driving around running over people,

because you'd think that with some of the tech some people have access too they could get a car working some way or another

aparently there was one in fallout 2 that was used as some sort of fast travel thing
No the reason was because of the resource crisis. Ever wonder why all those barrels you find everywhere are empty? Europe was destroyed because they started wars over resources.

Also yes in Fallout 2 there was the Highwayman, a car that ran on micro fusion cells and small energy cells. In fact you can actually find the wreck of the car in New vegas with energy ammo in the boot.
Spoilers! Damn it!! Ah, hell I wouldn't have found it anyway.

OT: I'm siding with Bethesda on this one. Interplay was great in late 90's but afterwards they were responsible for the atrocity that was Brotherhood of Steel and they even pushed BoS 2 instead of Van Buren and then killing of Black Isle (though, it was ultimately dying anyway).

Fuck you Interplay, you had your chance, now just go away and wither and die already.

Until Bethesda got their paws on Fallout 3. That was trying to be too serious.

Far too serious.

OT: I hope Interplay get it and then make the Fallout MMO.
you think? well I did find the atmosphere to effectivley depressing and soul crushing but there was a little humour there,

like Moira Brown
in regards to mirelurks: "are they self aware? do you think we could ride them?" (seriously picture Moira brown riding a mirelurk) also the SCIENCE! reasearch on her terminal...thats pretty funny

the crazy woman in the town arfu who thinks shes still in pre-war and your here to deliver a catalogue, and that chick sierra or somthing whos hoplessly addicted to nuka cola and my favorite quote of hers:

lone W: "actually I think he just wants to get into your pants..."
Sierra: "my pants?...haha! why would he want to wear a dirty old pair of womans pants?..aww you two must have thourght that up just to make me smile!"

so yeah I think theres actually quite a bit of humour there if look

Is that actually going ahead?
Thought it was just a rumour.

If its actually real and happening it would most likely be just like F3, with the stupid NPCs often replaced by stupid PCs.

Well the Fallout series has been black/dark humour. The actual theme of Fallout is serious which is why the jokes are generally presented in an evil and dark kind of way. Like the bloody mess perk, you're killing people in brutal ways, but it's funny.

Honestly the only developer I can see at the moment making a good Fallout game is Obsidian. New Vegas was very well done in terms of story, lore, quests, weapons, characters, factions and just general Fallout-ness. Interplay have been just going downhill and I don't like MMOs, and Bethesda aren't very good at making Fallout games in terms of lore and other gameplay mechanics.

Bethesda are perfectly fine with the awesome franchise that they have. Don't take it away from them Interplay.

I'm actually going to take the time to enlighten you so that you don't look like an utter tool in the future.

First of all, Interplay have had the MMO in the works for some time now, it is not a rumour, and hopefully it will be happening.

On your arseholish statement that it would be like Fallout 3, I can't state nearly enough how stupid and wrong you are.

The MMO would be made by Interplay. They were involved in the original Fallout games. That is, Fallout 1, 2 and Tactics. Bethesda are the ones who fucked the series over by developing AND publishing that shoddy excuse for a game that is Fallout 3.

Yeah, if you look, whereas the older ones (and New Vegas, actually) were just outright funny.

You didn't need to go through all the terminals to find it, you didn't need to talk to every NPC. You could just see it there, plain and simple, and it was good.

Yeah, he pretty pissed.

...Oh and All fallout games are bugged:

Hell, the first game didn't even have half of the perks. Also, Tactics suckes and that god awful Brotherhood of steel game fromn 2004 made by..OMG: INTERPLAY!

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout:_Brotherhood_of_Steel

Also, Fallout 3 is VERY good.

I know, and all I am saying is that Bethesda reinforced the fact that fallout is a post apocalyptic world. In New Vegas I don't even understand the major problem that the civilization is facing. They have a whole city running on renewable energy, they dont have a problem with defense ( endless supply of robots), the city is self sustaining and while you can argue that the human kind seems to be still in depression and poverty it kind of resembles some nations from today (not pointing any fingers).

Ugh. If Interplay take Fallout I can guarantee I won't play another Fallout game again.

Bethesda picking up Fallout was the best thing to ever happen to the series. Fallout and Fallout 2 were, don't get me wrong, very good games. But that was over ten years ago. Things have changed. Interplay haven't made a good game for a long, long time and I think Fallout Online is a very bad idea.

Please explain. Because in terms of lore, story, characters, gameplay, consistency and perks Fallout 3 was quite bad.
And, why, may I asked should I explain my reason?

It's good game, I didn't have any bugs with it and that's it.

Of course there was only two worthwhile DLC...
