Shame that you missed out on the insane deals of black friday, I mean $26 for New Vegas, bugs or no bugs it is easily worth that. Have fun paying $50+ now.
25 bucks is EASILY worth not wasting my time by going out on Black Friday. Even if it was available for cheap on Steam, I can still justify it by having saved 400 bucks on an online laptop deal. I have no complaints.

Well I'm over 40 hours in without any bad bugs. Though I'd hate for something awful to happen and lose my save. Anyway lets hope the patch will be out shortly and people who have been waiting will buy the game. Honestly it's really worth getting.

I'm already on playthrough #3, and while I haven't run into anything extremely game-breaking, it is kind of annoying to have it freeze up every now and again. That's the major thing I hope they fix.

The crashes and weird scripting errors I can more or less deal with, but I really hope they're fixing the broken quest lines. Hated finding out that I couldn't get a better ending for Raul just because I'd already talked to that retired ranger in Novac.

I get the weird feeling that next year I'll see the escapist post "New Vegas Comprehensive Patch Promised 'Soon'".
I'm not quite so optimistic.
This patch (like all their others) will probably just get rid of some minor exploits and visual bugs. Then they'll let the game rot with it's freezing and unfinishable quests. That's what they did with Fallout 3 and Oblivion: they released a patch that took care of a few non-game-breaking bugs then any following patches were connected to dlc which all seemed to make things worse.

These games just don't work on the consoles. I'm actually surprised they're even bothering with a PC patch. The ones the modders come up with are always better.

Meh, I did two full playthroughs without any bugs

I'm on 3 on the 360, 2 on the PC, no major bugs, crashes or total fuckups. Only bugs have been minor graphical glitches and an occasional audio lapse in conversation.

I don't know how these people encounter so many bugs.

Obsidian is run by a bunch of dum witted jerks. I mean just look at the Knights of the Old republic! This new patch will do jack all for the consoles n' barly nothing for the P.C's. Fallout 3 Was better in every way!

Me too. Once as NCR, once as Legion, now I'm on my third and I can't decide between House or Yes Man. Though I'm thinking House.

But point being, I have not run into ONE quest breaking/character breaking/NPC breaking bug at all. Infact, I've only had ONE freeze. That's insane, I got about 50 daily on Fallout 3.

Two play throughs...and the only problem I had was a faction bug where the NCR (Accepted) started attacking me when I fast traveled from Caesar's place (Vilified). Minor display errors are a given for a sandbox game, and I had a whole variety of monsters creeping around in the walls of a cave.
Been rock solid. Much more so than fallout 3 and oblivion.
Oh forgot the performance issues...but I fixed that with an ATI direct 3d patch. Went from struggling to maintain 20 fps on medium settings to 40fps on ultra.

Yeah, my guess and sincere hope is that this will hit before Xmas.

Dec 21st is my over-under. I doubt it will hit before the 14th.

Rockin' good news, no matter when it hits. I seriously would like to fast travel in stealth boy mode.

My bet is that this goes up on xbox live by Wednesday. MS paid good money for the exclusive DLC and I'm sure want to protect their investment, especially when considering it comes out on the 21st.

It's friggin' pitiful how they released New Vegas with all these bugs. I'm playing my friend's copy of New Vegas on the PS3 and it's frozen on me at least 6 times (and don't tell me I should play it on PC for the mods, that doesn't excuse the bugs).

Whatever, hopefully they can get the patch through soon. Still ticks me off how Obsidian can somehow get away with this, what the hell is up with their QA?

So, PC patch goes live tomorrow, console patches some point this week, most likely.
Which means tomorrow is most likely the day that I will buy this game.

You can get it for £17 in the UK right now so I imagine other regions will follow suit.

I tried to do a NCR game for my second playthrough and for some reason the strip gate was locked and so was the train. So this patch should fix things I hope.

I may just buy it now, I played it and it crashed the video card drivers before the end of the tutorial.

Too late: I've already played through and seen a lot of New Vegas. I've got all but one achievement (stupid food) and have lost interest. It was a good game and fortunately, my copy wasn't as bad as some of the horror stories I've read about. I guess once the patch is out, I'll go back in for the food achievement.
