I don't drink energy drinks at all, coffee is all I'll ever drink if I want caffeine. Tea is probably what I drink the most, as it tastes much better than coffee, but isn't exactly caffeine-ridden.
I tried 5-Hour Energy out of curiosity today, and I got a slight high for maybe half an hour and then I was back to normal again. I was really aware of my hands during that time, and my typing accuracy diminished dramatically. I was looking at some reviews of it online, and it seems to either do nothing or be the equivalent of meth, so it's probably worth trying to see if it works for you.
