The feeling of having nothing to play.

All the time.
Very few games can hold my attention after the novelty wears off and it's usually a couple games that I keep replaying while the rest is gathering dust.

My solution is to do whatever I feel like doing in my free time. I don't need to finish all my games.

I don't know that I can say I've experienced that for a loooooong time. I don't have the backlog that some people do, but I've definitely got more games sitting around that are either just started or totally unplayed than I care to mention. For me, it's never a case of not having something to play.

For me, it's much more often that I find myself wanting to play something but not knowing exactly what. I just know that the games I do currently have more than enough of don't really scratch that itch, so I end up playing an old standby or playing nothing at all.

Happens with me despite the backlog, as others have said, but I usually find something to play. What's even worse though is when I remember a game I WAS playing (and most of the time enjoying) that I kind of dropped for no reason, and I don't feel the motivation to go back until after a while even though I like it a lot.

Off topic, but I feel that I spread out play sessions too much. I think it really skews or alters my feelings towards a game.

I am having that feeling right now. I literally have hundreds of games to choose from, but I can't figure out what I want to play. I suppose that means I should be doing something productive, like the homework I have been putting off for weeks now.

...

Nahhh... That can't be it! :p

We've all experienced it. When you want to sit down on your couch, grab your controller, and play some video games....
Only to realize you have nothing to play. All your games games you completed, 100%, or simply done with.
...Ji...Jirard? Is that you beardman?!

joking aside (well...reference) I almost never complete a game. At the moment I have 3 games that I'm actively switching between with a shitload others that are either nowhere near 100% or, nowhere near done in general. Basically I consider a game to be beaten once I hit the credits screen very rarely going back to try for 100%.

I may be mentally done with Arkham City and I may have even found every Riddler trophy/solved his puzzles 100% but I'm not going back and doing the Riddler's Revenge to 100%.

But to truthfully answer your question I do feel that way from time to time. I want to play a game! But what game? I'm not in the mood for Crysis 2 despite never beating it. Sonic All-Star Racing makes me rage. ZombiU isn't beaten but I can't stand the fucking arena. 2 hours later I realize I've spent the past 3 and a half hours watching Yahtzee Lets-Play videos again...

I have a massive backlog but I still get this feeling. I've have backup games to pass time without feeling like I need to try and enjoy myself. (Thanks league of legends for being a leech of my life's energy.) If not, sleep, food, or just moping will pass my time until the morning when I usually feel better.

BEARS!

OT: I have nothing to play, but it's not because I've finished everything. I just can't muster up the interest in most of the games I've got. I suppose I should actually go put some proper time into Beyond Good & Evil until Bioshock Infinite comes out, now that I've finished Tomb Raider...

Yeah I can feel your pain so to speak. My main game is WoW. But every so often I just don't wanna play for whatever reason. So I have a few "big titles" like Civ 5, Heroes 6 and 1-2 others. But then I have a massive backlog. ABout 100 games on steam, 30 on gog.com, about 200 roms for a NES/SNES emulator plus maybe 15 or so older PC games in boxes, GBA games and whatnot.

Buggered if I can work up the caring or desire or gumption to actually start playing them. I almost think I just enjoy collecting them.

Hell, I got SC2 HotS to day agao, and haven't touched it. (Mostly cause I found out you need WoL (duh) and I have it installed on an older accout I don't use, and would either have to buy a new copy for my main account or put HotS on my old account. I wish Blizzard would let you actually merge account (meaning you can actually gain the benefits like CE pets and items by merging them))

Many many times, i sit down and go hrrm nothing to play. When this is never true i always have something in my back catalog. but i do this, and it is when i feel the need to buy new games.

I am the opposite, I have too many games to play but have little interest in them because I'm too busy playing goddamn league of legends. I love that game so much. I know I should get away from it, play the many games in my backlog. I end up having one hell of a good time when I get past the initial "hmm do I really want to do this?" thoughts.

No, sorry, never felt it. I have so many games I haven't played yet and so many I want to play again. And if I really was simply out of things I wanted to play I could always buy something new.

Normally I can enjoy myself when I get into any half decent game, but there's the whole process of downloading or installing something, sorting out control difficulties if it's an old game or a bad port, wanting to play something else... bleh.
This for me, I have stuff I could be playing but I just either get distracted, bored or I just don't feel like playing the things I have yet to play.

I've always got games to play. I own enough now that whatever type of game I'm feeling like I can cover it. The thing is, I play so much these days that at times, I will feel like I have nothing I want to play. I've got about 20 games that I really like, but sometimes I've played all of them too recently or too many times before to want to put on any of them. It's no big deal, it usually goes away by the next day.

I've been experiencing it for the past 2-3 months with no new games interesting me much (combined with lack of funds and saving for holiday tickets doesn't help) and I'm still more concerned for working out to keep my body in shape along with continued job searching just makes me gameplay sessions so short these days to almost non existent.

I usually sit infront of my computer with dozens of options and feel like i've nothing to play, because i don't know what to play.

Also.. how can you be done with all your games. In 20 years of gaming that never happened to me. I assume you're either only playing or refering to singleplayer games. Because.. i can't finish DotA, no matter how hard i try :)
And games like [Type] Tycoon, Gangsters: OC etc. can't be really finished.

Ok.. not time to chat. Back to playing.
