Huzzah for Luca Turilli!
Just made my day a lot better. I've finally met someone who knows him!
Knows him, loves his work, and owns every album he's released either with Rhapsody or his own solo material - it's pretty safe to say that Turilli is on my shortlist of guitarists I'm likely to name drop, heh.

Kind of surprising you haven't ran into any Rhapsody fans though, at least here that is (I don't think I know anyone in meatspace who would recognize his name), because I know there are a fair few fans of that powerhouse of Italian fantasy metal haunting these forums.

I'm gonna come straight out and say it...

5ive.

I'm not actually sure if its my first album, but the other possible very early listens I remember are things like Steps and S Club 7, so its not much better.
Although, I remember having Americana by Offspring at quite an early age as well, so that sortof evens it out.

My first album was Kittie, bought it myself and everything. Cool at the age of 13, not so much embarrassing as incredibly unappealing at 21. People certainly change with time :p.

I'm fairly certain it was Blink-182's Dude Ranch in 97. While definitely not a favorite of mine anymore, I don't think I've even listened one of their songs in years, I am in no way embarrassed by that. I'll probably grab a copy of their upcoming album just for nostalgia's sake if nothing else.

"Forever Autumn" by Lake of Tears. 1999... yeah i got late into music. Downloaded a bit before that. And before that never really listened to music, bit radio and such.

Was it good? It is AWESOME. One of the best albums by Lake of Tears... which is one of the best bands ever (yeahyeah...my opinion, OF COURSE)

The first CD I ever bought with my own money was Placebo's "Sleeping With Ghosts". That was, and still is, an epic album.

The first album bought for me was like, Steps or something but shhh. We don't talk about that.

As I remeber it was some variation on the 2 for £10 or buy one get one free; anyway, the two albums were Slipknot's Iowa and Green Day's Nimrod. One remains as one of my favourite albums, the other I haven't listened to since I was about 14.

...I wonder if people can tell which is which?

The Little Mermaid soundtrack.

I was five and had Christmas money to blow. XD

I'm not at all ashamed of it. Shit, I've got it on my ipod right now (along with the Beauty and the Beast soundtrack).

"The Looney West" was mine.

It's a pretty ill-conceived crossover of country/western singers and a range of mediocre to horrible Looney Tunes voice actors, but I was six at the time and obsessed with Bugs, Daffy, Yosemite and the gang.

The first album I got as a gift was the "Men in Black" soundtrack, so I suppose that's par for the course.
