"You have your reasons for the words you are saying," Ghil nodded, satisfied, "I did not expect to be a Warden and have some great quest put upon me. I did not expect to live when they forced that bile down my throat. We are all like that. There is no help for it unless it is you who does the helping. Now. Will you try and sleep well, Soola? These are too many words to speak at once, my face is tired."

Sulahn'nehn's lips curled in a soft smile. Something about Ghil's broken Tevene was charming. "Yes, I think I can." The elf had calmed down considerably. She rolled to her side to give the barbarian some room on the bed. "Good night, Ghil..."

Ulrin shook his head. "I will sleep when I am tired."

He turned his attention back to his knife and sighed quietly to himself. He would sleep eventually. Either to get up tomorrow or not to get up at all. But he supposed ending it himself would not grant him the outcome he wanted. He was certain he'd find Twynne waiting for him if took his own life. Still he sat up debating with himself a while longer before leaning back to rest on top of the bed's covers. He kept his knife in hand and stared up at the room's ceiling until he was too exhausted to keep his eyes open.

The human rogue, on the other hand, wasted no time in nodding off. It had been a tiring day, and he had to take care of his equipment. He would be up at dawn, waxing his bowstring.

Ghil nestled her head against the pillow and draped an arm loosely over the elf?s hips. Her servant or ward or friend, whatever their relationship was, was at least deserving of some added protection through the night to keep the calm.

On the floor above, Thaedrin stirred and coughed gently before wincing. Though the healers had repaired his throat, the new flesh was weak and irritated. So was the rest of him, at the moment. A blood mage with hardly any blood, now, that was surely a terror to all who beheld him. His eyes passed over the quaint inn room, the bedding covering him, and the Senior Warden to his left near the door. It was a much better sight than the nightmares that had grasped him in the Fade near death?s door.

?So we've won, then.?

She had been staring up at the ceiling, woolgathering, and now her gaze jerked back down to him. She smiled to see him awake. "We did, sir. I'm told that the recruits likely never would have survived the first wave without your magic. They barely scraped through the second without you."

She had heard this from an Imperial Guard who had seen the fight, not from a Warden; in fact, none of the recruits had mentioned Thaedrin at all.

"I'm sure," he nodded. The others were still alive, then. Good. "Tell me how many we've lost, and how many the Imperial army has lost. I fear the Grey Wardens are yet too few to run to arms for every city and village that comes under attack, but if we do not, the enemy adds to their numbers."

Thaedrin gave a grunt of effort as he sat upright, beginning to unwind the bandage from around his neck. That arrow was a fluke. He assured himself it was unlikely to happen again.

"Something will have to change. Have you already sent a report back to Weisshaupt?"

"The legion reports 47 dead and many more wounded. I regret to report that we lost twelve Wardens."

She crossed the room and opened the curtains, letting sunlight into the room. "I did take the liberty of sending a report back to Weisshaupt; they want us to return when we are hale enough to do so. There's more for us to do already, it seems-- something about the Alamarri."

"Why not send Alrik to deal with it? He's brigand enough to match wits, for what that's worth," he tossed the length of linen onto the end table and rubbed at his eyes tiredly, "Still, no use staying here longer than necessary. When the others have woken and eaten, we can leave."

Thaedrin paused, eyeing Delphina expectantly. "...I'm starving."

"Oh!" she said, startled. "No one is taking care of that? I... I shall try and find a servant at once!"

She hurried out of the room, hunting for an elf.

Finally, a good night's rest. It was of course, with the help of her friend in the Fade, but it was well worth forgetting the stress and the nightmares. Not once did she move in the night.

Sulahn'nehn found Ghil in the same position they'd fallen asleep, close together with her arm draped over the elf. She spent several minutes trying to find a way to slip out of the bed without waking her before she was ready to rise. The process involved her slowly inching her way out and gently placing Ghil's arm on the mattress.

She'd kill to have a bath, well not kill necessarily. But she'd have loved one. She slipped out of her nightgown and began dressing. Not quite ready for another day in the life of a Warden.

She ventured out in hopes of finding breakfast.

Ulrin awoke some time after Diocles started stirring about readying his equipment for the day. He lay still for a few moments thinking about what could have happened to him if he had not fled his master's home that night, instead of running away and ending up here. Connected to Darkspawn and surrounded by worse humans and constantly exchanging heated words with his own kind. It probably wouldn't be much better.

Slowly he sat up and rubbed the back of his neck, looking over at the human. He didn't bother to offer him a good morning, but instead slip out of the bed and started to get prepared for the day ahead himself.

Still shirtless, and evidently not chilly despite the climate, Diocles took his time maintaining his equipment. He was just waxing finishing waxing his bowstring when Ulrin awoke, and moved on to examining his knives. Unused, they were surely as sharp as they had been, but he was compelled to check. The rogue grumbled a bit, evidently the floor was less forgiving to his back than the wilderness he was accustomed to.

"Thanks for not stabbing me in my sleep, Ulrin. I really appreciate the courtesy."

"I told you, I would only stab you if I needed to," the elven rouge stretched put his hands on the handles of his own knives making sure he still had them. He glanced over at the human and spoke again, "I am going to get something to eat." He turned nad made his way out into the hall choosing to leave as quickly as possible. Ulrin really didn't feel like staying in the room with the archer any longer. And he was sure the human wouldn't mind being left alone at this point. Though going to breakfast meant having to see Sulahn'nehn, he preferred her ire to remaining in the room.

"Yeah, I'll come-... With you."

Sighing at the elf's sudden departure, Diocles threw on his clothes and assembled his equipment, leaving minutes behind Ulrin to join him and Sul downstairs.

While alone at the table, she was able to eat more freely and leave her manners unchecked. Of course, as soon as Ulrin and Diocles appeared, she slowed down and took more time chewing. She dabbed at her lips with a bit of cloth and smiled brightly, if only to greet Diocles. Ulrin, she had a different greeting for Ulrin in her head.

"Good morning, gentlemen. Have either of you heard any orders as of yet?"

Diocles whispered in the ear of a serving girl as he came down, and she immediately disappeared into the back. He waved to Sul, joining her at her table with a beleaguered look.

"Good morning, my lady. No, nothing of yet.. How was your rest, by the way? I'm afraid for us it was awkward, uncomfortable, and gave me a hell of a bad back."

Ghil pulled on her mail and clasped her breastplate into place, laying her greatsword across her shoulders as she left the small room. It was almost entirely untouched, they were so exhausted that there was no trouble they could have gotten up to to make life difficult for the maids. Still, she did briefly consider ordering breakfast in bed, to get crumbs and marmalade all over the sheets. Things like that, they were just so satisfying.

When she came downstairs, she found the rest of her team already gathered--minus any authority figures. She sat heavily in a chair and frowned at the empty bit of table in front of her before barking the word "bread" at the nearest member of the staff.

Turning back to her company, she said, "You got along, then?"

The food was so much better than it was back at the fortress and without any aches or pains, she was able to fully enjoy it.

"Oh you poor thing. I slept rather well, I'm feeling refreshed. Ghil was kind enough to share the bed with me. If you like, I can aid you. I have some experience with getting knots out."

Diocles stared at Ghil for a moment, not moving while Sul spoke. Then he understood, rolled his eyes, and ran his hands through his hair as if his scalp had provoked him.

".. No, Ghil. We kept our clothes on. .. Sorry, Sul, was that an honest offer? I'd gladly accept."
