Ulrin smiled at the barbarian, a genuine smile. Something he wasn't sure he still had in him , "Ghil you truly are the only good human out of this bunch. Perhaps in the world." He nodded to her, "We may need your aid for the task. I hope you will grace us with your strength for the task.

For a moment Diocles seemed like he might argue the point, but he held his tongue instead.

"Thank you, my heart. It might not matter anyway, I'm sure Ulrin is already stabbing him for calling you my pet."

"That will be up to Soola to be deciding."

Ghil gave his shoulder a fond squeeze before she drew away from him. The salt and moisture in the air felt good against her skin, but all this rocking about was going to make her as sick as the elf girl on their last boat-related voyage. She gripped the railing firmly in both hands and faced the mast, hoping that a fixed point in space would help her stomach settle.

Alrik could not help but notice Ulrin and Ghil muttering darkly across the ship.

"Was foolish to think could correct such deep cancer with one slap," he said to Jarrick. He sighed. "You're right, could use Dark Spawn attack. Too bad no Dark Spawn fish."

He looked thoughtful. "Well... none so far."

Ulrin wanted to keep talking top Ghil but he noticed how intently she gripped the railing and stared down the mast. The elf pushed away from the sides and opted to leave her be. He did not want to know what it was like when s barbarian lost their lunch. The rogue made his way below deck to find Sulahn'nehn and Diocles.

He approched them without a sneer, but truly concerned for the female elf, "Will you be alright, Sulahn'nhen?"

"I'd say better to try and solve your issues over a bottle than by blows."

The helmet's plume finally looked up to standards, the red mane of horse hair fully replaced. And he held it up, turning it over appearing pleased with his work. "Speakin' of which, I could use a drink. You?" After the mornings work in warehouse and with the sun firmly overhead, Jarrik had a thirst to quench.

Their voyage might not be overly long, but ships were often at sea for great lengths and keeping stagnant water palatable was solved by diluting it with beer or wine. Jarrik found one of the casks mid-ship near the mast and took a long slow drink with the wooden ladle nearby. He was being careful not to spill, a dreadful superstition among Antivian sailors, when he noticed an all to familiar expression on Ghil's face.

Smiling, he fished around the nearby pouches and baskets before finally settling on his prize. "First time out to sea?" He asked her while he walked closer, before placing a pair of gnarled roots in her hand. "Here, peel off the skin and chew on the pulp. It's an old Rivaini trick for keepin' breakfast down while you find your sea legs."

Another surprise, Ulrin had come down to see her. Diocles had been right, for some reason the other elf seemed to care for her. She half expected the elf to be covered in blood just as the archer mused. "I will be fine. "

She was ready to dismiss Ulrin but a thought crossed her mind, something she felt she could not share with her companion despite her feelings. After a bit of silence she made eye contact with the elf, "Ulrin, my brethren. I did not expect you to see me and I feel I have been... nasty to you. I would like to speak with you." Shortly following, she looked up to Diocles, "Forgive me, lath, would you give be but a moment?"

Diocles had smiled at Ulrin's entrance, but was a little thrown off by Sul's request. Still, he would never deny her privacy.

"Of course."

He put his hand on Ulrin's shoulder as he passed the man, making his way far enough towards the deck that he could not be tempted to eavesdrop.

Ulrin looked on a bit confused. She wanted to see him alone? Over her dear Diocles? Sulahn'nehn must be sick from the boat. Or the smack knocked her senses loose? Whatever the reason, the elf nodded. "Of course I will speak with you. Whenever you wish. "

She thanked Diocles and waited some time to be sure they would not be overhead. Sulahn'nehn sized up Ulrin, would he even be up for it? "Before I continue, I need to know exactly how you feel about our comrades. "

"How do I feel about them?" So this was what was on her mind? Did she aim to prove him 'wrong' again about Diocles? Did she want to hear him bad month the human just for her to point out how caring he was being? "....Ghil is the most trustworthy." He started where he knew they would agree. "I like and trust her. She is truly kind. Theadrin..." he hesitated, "Theadrin, in himself is a blight. A disgusting, pig of a magister. If not for his appearance, showing he is clearly a human I would think he was a horrid Genlock that had crawled out of Dumat's bowls just to torment us. He is greedy, selfish, arrogant to a degree that I am even surprised other humans tolerate him rather than string him up by his neck." The rogue gripped the hilt of one of his daggers growling, "If not for his accursed magic I'd have cut his throat weeks ago. But alas spilling his blood only gives him an advantage... I think all his kind should fight this Blight and when its over be put into chains or to death. His watch dog Alrik can go with them." He nodded firmly. All that was left was the archer, and to be honest he did not want to answer.

Though Ulrin was spewing bile describing just how much he loathed their Constable, there may as well have been a canary singing the most beautiful song. It was the most she had ever agreed with him and probably would be the only time they would share the exact view. Sulahn'nehn pondered his words, "Are you positive? Surely, there is a point where it would do more harm than good. I recall an arrow stopping him almost immediately. " the elf began pacing the floor in deep thought. Before she even realized it, she'd trusted him to keep her thoughts between the two of them. "He was very weak after his 'little' gamble with demons..."

The rogue watched her for a moment, surprised by the topic at hand. So this was about Theadrin. More so it was about striking him when he was vulnerable. Yes, Ulrin found this topic most agreeable. "After any battle, really." He watched her pace, "He cuts himself to cast those spells. When our foes are fearsome enough, he grows tired, this I have noticed. But his dog," he stressed the word as if it was chocking him to bring it up. "When he is at his weakest, Alrik is there. he does not say much, but watches Theadrin. Watches for trouble." Ulrin didn't say anything but reached up to hold his hand aloft at level with Sulahn'nehn's face. "They both need to be weakened at the same time. Or at least we must get them apart."

She had not quite gotten to enlisting his help, though she was relieved to hear him tacking on additional information. He could prove to be of use to her. "He will need to be preoccupied. The best chance there is is curfew. To my knowledge, the Constable does not share his quarters and what I would need, should you wish to help, is for you to keep all away." Her hand reached for the dagger she'd selected and showed the elf. "Given our location, it would be best not to use my magic, lest I damage the thing keeping us afloat. When the time is right I will call for you. "

Sulahn'nehn nodded, pleased with the discussion. But, a sense of worry washed over her and gripped the elf's shoulder. "Ulrin, I hope this does not need saying, but you can speak of this to no one. Are we clear? "

Ulrin looked at the dagger, and then to Sulahn'nehn. recalling what he said on deck, he still thought it wise to have Ghil on board. The barbarian had strength the two lacked, and if things went wrong, it would be good to have her by their side. However, Ulrin also knew, that an assassination is best done in secrete and alone.

"I will tell no one, my sister. You have my word." He raised his hand and put it over her own with a reassuring smile.

"Thank you."

There was no pang of guilt and it was this thought that made her feel horrible. But it was all for the greater good. He must go in order to keep the others and herself safe. Sulahn'nehn dismissed Ulrin, allowing him to go about his afternoon. As for her, she climbed into a hammock where she would retire for the day. Her fingers lightly brushed against the right side of her faceand she wwinced. By now, her face must have swollen quite a bit and she would not be seen as such. Thinking about the bruises that would come by morning...well, she wished she had the strength to return the favor to Alrik.

Ulrin returned to the upper deck. What a strange turn of events. he would have never suspect Sulahn'nehn to be the one to finally break when it came to enduring Theadrin. Actually he thought he would snap first. But nevertheless he would help her.he would not let her fail, it would mean her life. she had entrusted her success and her life to him with this secret. And he would have another elven woman's blood on his hands.

He took up a place on deck across from the railing that Ghil had taken hold of. he was still weary the woman would be sick, and he felt no need to disturb her. Though he could see Jarrik did. He hoped the human was good at ducking out of way.

Diocles saw Ulrin pass, and followed after the elf, joining him on deck. The archer had not been listening, but he was anxious to know the results. He approached Ulrin with a concerned expression, trying a gentle tone.

"How did your talk go? Are you on good terms now?"

Ghil's mouth twisted in suspicion of the strange root. It looked like a crone's withered hand.

"What is this now?" Without waiting for an answer, she took a hearty bite out of the thing and chewed about three times before she turned and spit it out into the bay. The face she made was one for the book; she was trying to scrape the bitterness from her tongue with gloved fingers. "It tastes like sour dirt. I know, I have eaten dirt. It is not good for a meal. You are making the joke."

Ulrin turned toward the archer, he had to keep his demeanor the same, least he draw attention to their plans. "Yes, I suppose... We did not so much agree to be friends, but..." He looked back over the water, "We agreed, that in the end, we do see eye to eye on many things. It doesn't make sense for us to fight. So, we are on good terms." He paused a moment, thinking back to when Sulahn'nehn dismissed the archer. Thinking about how she addressed him made his stomach turn. Ulrin looked back to Diocles a slight frown on his face.

"That being said, you and I, are still not. Not because I think you are a vile human. No, there are many much worse than you. But I question how serious you are about Sulahn'nehn. You do not strike me as the type to be a man of commitment."
