Delphina nodded to Nadja. "Of course."

She walked down the walltop, leaving the others to tend to Diocles. She took a seat on a crumbling rampart.

"What's on your mind?"

"Nah lad." Jarrik shook his head in mild disagreement. "I mean sometimes you gotta do what you must. But best to hammer out good steel than risk yourself to untested equipment. If those lad's armor had served better, 'haps than they wouldn't be lyin' there."

"Hmn," Ulrin nodded slowly to Jarrik, "I guess that is true." He turned his head around to see Diocles picking useable arrow from the dead here and there. "None the less, we may find something yet." The elf resumed checking over the dead bodies with Sulahn'nehn. Stepping over and inspecting the dead bodies did not bother him so much. He was more concerned with not being prepared for up coming attacks. If the human was fine stumbling into battle with equipment with gaping holes, so be it. He wasn't going to force him to take anything they found.

"I'm certain you would have seen it yourself, if you hadn't your arrows and a rider to attend," Nadja gestured north, beyond the bay, "But we have more to handle than just picking up the pieces of Antiva City. There's a horde making way along the shoreline, while we were stuck here with ogres and hurlocks. They must be marching toward Rivain, but with the griffons we can head them off before they arrive."

She folded her arms and nodded her head in the general direction of where she guessed their other Wardens might be, "It's only, I fear they will not get much rest in between."

Delphina nodded, wiping sweat from her brow. "You're right, we'll need to try and stop it before it's too late. Good eye, Nadja."

She began walking toward the others. "I suppose that if we wanted to be well-rested, we've truly chosen the wrong profession. Mount up, everyone! The Darkspawn aren't beaten yet, not nearly. Diocles, are you fit to ride?"

Diocles turned back as Delphina approached, giving her a small smile.

"You really have to work on your advances, Constable, quite crude. But yes, I'm in good shape. Jarrik here might need some medical attention from our resident abomination, however."

Sulahn?nehn turned back, welcoming the new shouted order. It was far better than checking bodies. She quickly made her way towards her ranking officers, giving Diocles an olive branch on the way there; a pat on the shoulder.

?I do not think it wise to call a powerful spirit an abomination, ser.  Fidelity did revive you.?

The elf climbed back up the tower, stopping just short of Weaver as she turned to Nadja, ?Would you mind showing me how to secure myself once more??

Diocles had a point, and Jarrik promptly walked over to Fidelity to present himself. "Aye, if we aim to fight again, I could use your assistance." It occurred to him that no one had actually asked if the spirit was still capable of healing before now. It was good that the skill had not been lost despite the change in ownership.

"Where are we flyin' too? Another district of the city?" He asked around while clattering to a seat so that the spirit could begin its magic.

"Not a moment to rest..." Ulrin muttered to himself as he turned around and made his way back to the wall to mount up on Weaver. He saw Sulahn'nehn give a friendly pat on the back to the archer. He supposed he was happy for her, showing she had the strength to move on past his betrayal. Or maybe she was just required to show that she could?

He made his way up to Weaver and pulled himself into the saddle first. "Do we have far to chase them?"

Nadja gave the elf a curt nod in response, "Come." With Ulrin mounted on Weaver's back, she gave Sulahn'nehn a boost up and helped her back into the relative safety of the harness.

While the Anders worked, Fidelity consented to patching up Jarrik, using healing magic to knit his wounds back together. The experience was similar to Thaedrin's blood magic, but the queer warmth was replaced by a refreshing coolness, something distinctly separate. All in all, the end result was the same. "If one focuses, one could sense the horde moving northward."

"Yes. But we won't be chasing them around the bay. We'll go east, and reach the Rivaini before the Darkspawn have a chance to strike." Nadja finished securing Sulahn'nehn and returned to White Fury's side, swinging up into the stirrups, "Hopefully with enough time to prepare a proper defense, for once. Let the Tevinter army clean up what's happened here. They ought to be good for something."

With the spirit's work completed, Jarrik stretched his arms overhead with a satisfying sigh, soaking in the soothing feeling into every aching joint. "Aye, you're a miracle worker." He thanked Fidelity before eagerly venturing over to White Fury and jumping up into the saddle.

"Come, we'll drive the 'spawn from my homelands and the Rivaini people will feast us as heroes." Having driven brigands and pirates from Rivaini soil and shores, Jarrik had accumulated a fair bit of respect among his people and had the markings to prove it. "They'll have to tattoo us near head to toe for drivin' off a horde." He chimed in with a grin.

Delphina saw all the Wardens mounted and then ordered them to take flight as the sun set.

The trip to Rivain was blessedly uneventful, the griffons traveling at full speed with their passengers holding close against them, keeping their heads down and out of the wind.

Rivain was still wholly intact, though the guards looked nervous and unsure and the streets were mostly empty.

The trip was over and she was glad for it. It was nerve racking at best during their flight. She suspected an attack ever minute they stayed airborne. Fortunately for them, not such thing occurred and they landed safely in Rivain. The peninsula might have been considered beautiful if it were not for the eerily sparse streets.

As quiet as it was, people still remained and that was a breath of fresh air. However, with people still alive and no darkspawn to fight, Sulahn?nehn was just as uncertain as the guards in terms of what she was meant to do.

She suppressed a yawn before turning to her superiors to await new orders, obedience coming back at a steady pace. ?Where do we go from here, sers??

Before jumping off the griffins back, Jarrik stretched his stiff limbs, a combination of satisfying joint cracks and armored plates clattering together. He took a moment to relax, breathing in the sights and sounds of his homeland. Where Antivia was developed and dirty, Rivain had a more rustic and relaxed feelings, even in its larger cities. Largely unspoiled to darkspawn attacks, it was a shame that this area was soon to be the sight of bloody conflict.

"As a native, I'd recommend we seek out the matron in this town. Nothin' truly gets done in Rivain without their approval." He added to the conversation.

Ulrin dismounted from Weaver, also giving his limbs a stretch. Though riding the beast was second nature to him, clutching to her so tightly for so long left his body feeling ridged. At least it seemed they had time to regain their dexterity. The city still stood, and while the guards were pensive, they were not engaged in battle. Nadja's route to out pace the marching Darkspawn had worked. Hopefully the advantage of time would mean this city would fair better the upcoming battle/

"Then let us find her quickly." He finished his stretching and turned to Jarrik, "I am sure it won't be long before the Darkspawn are here breaking down the city's defenses."

Diocles hadn't spoken much, for once. That small gesture, the pat on the shoulder, meant more to him than he had thought it could. He even managed to stop himself from pointing out Fidelity's monstrous nature, knowing Sul would not appreciate a fervent defense of Thaedrin.

He dismounted swiftly, giving Ser Flufferkins a gentle pat before beginning to stretch. He needed to unwind some kinks. The archer stretched each limb, than unhooked his quiver for a few flips forward and backward, making sure he was limber.

"Right. Well, with my newfound tremendous authority, I give the plan my blessing. Jarrik, perhaps you could locate one of these matrons for us?"

Finding the matron did not take long.

While the streets were empty, rumors spread quickly about a group of Grey Wardens landing in the city and curiosity was a powerful enough motivator, at least momentarily. Children peaked out of shuttered windows trying to catch a glance, with the occasional angry chastising and subsequent clatter of windows shutting echoing in the empty streets. The presence of one of their Rivaini sons among the numbers appeared to put many at ease though, the Rivaini were normally an overly accepting group, but on the eve of battle, manners were not particularly on anyone's mind.

Directions were finally garnered from a brave soul still willing to go about her day. She mumbled something about if she didn't mend the nets than there wouldn't be any fresh catch tomorrow, all but unconcerned about the darkspawn threat. But she pointed the group towards a district only a short walk away.

Despite being arguably the most influential person in the city, the matron's home was pleasant and homely compared to the gaudy extravagance of Antivan merchant lords. Hanging gardens wrapped around soft beige stone, giving the impression of warmth and a connection to nature. But whatever feelings her domicile might have elicited, the matron herself proved quite the opposite. Quickly shuffled into her presence in a small meeting hall, she eyed the wardens intently one by one calculating and deliberately passed the point of comfort. Jarrik shifted and cleared his throat after only a minute under her gaze.

She was clearly quite advanced in age, skin cracked to nearly the texture of bark from years in the sun, and just years in general, but a keen wisdom radiated from her as she spoke.

"Welcome, Wardens of the Grey. What brings you to my city?" She questioned from her perch on a simple chair at the head of the room. "Besides the obvious, that is." It was hard to tell if she chuckled or wheezed at her joke.

It seemed the more impressive the authority figure, the more perverse pleasure Diocles seemed to glean from performing flippantly. He kept his tone casual, throwing the crone a quick wink as he answered.

"Oh, you know. The women, the wine, the cuisine, the imminent battle against the physical incarnation of the crimes of our hubris ... Also I find the sea air very good for my complexion."

Ulrin often found himself wonder if Dicoles was ever going to prove to be a stable and level headed leader. Couldn't crack jokes after the Darkspawn threat? No he supposed not. For such a thing to occur a creature of the Fade would have to possess him. The rouge smirked just a bit at the thought that they could probably function with both the archer and his Bloodmage operating as suits of skin for more pleasant entities than the two humans.

The matron was not at all what Sulahn'nehn had expected, although she never had a clear picture in mind of what the woman was would have looked like to begin with. At least she looked wise and experience, but that could be said of almost anyone who looked as aged as her.

What didn't surprise her was Diocles and everything out of his mouth. She shook her head and sighed. "I don't much like the sea." she said to no one in particular.
