My first one was probably Sam & Max Hit The Road. It took me a ridiculously long time, most likely. I was around seven or eight, and english isn't my first language.

Lands of Lore 3. I loved that game, and the final battle was really impressive for it's time (Fighting the big bad across three or four levels with rifthounds popping out of portals all around you. Plus, it finally gave you an opportunity to beat up Jakel, who had been a **** to you all game). The first time I tried that fight, it took me about five minuets after I'd died before I realised my heart was beating at about twice it's normal speed.

When I finally beat Ducktales http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DuckTales_(video_game) on the NES, I took a picture of the screen. LOL!

Not enough old people in this thread. The original Super Mario Bros. No using warp pipes either. Just run through the entire game and master the hellish level 8.

Legend of Zelda. Back before the idea of guiding the player through the game, you just had a manual telling you the plot and a cave to enter for a weapon.

Ninja Gaiden (XBOX)

It took me a while to actually get good at games (I'm a late bloomer, you see), but beating that pretty much meant I was officially a gamer.

Pokemon red probably, Used to love that game when I was a kid.
Either that or Final Fantasy 7.

But most likely, Legend of Zelda : Link to the Past.
I was very proud of beating that game.

Beating Alien Trilogy with only the pistol. This was the first time in my life I ever thought to myself "Hmm, I've beaten this incredibly fun game countless times... How can I put a new spin on it?"

And before you ask, the Alien Queen took me almost a full hour to kill.

Completing the extended Sonic 3 + Sonic and Knuckles campaign and unlocking the final Doomsday Zone at the end of the game. That game taught me the definition of epic.

I remember trying to do that myself. Fighting the queen with just the pistol and no ammo was a retarded backpetal-fest.

When I won the Stanley Cup in NHL 2000. I had beaten games previous to that (incl. Arc The Lad and Super Mario World), but this was the first really proud moment in my video gaming life.

Though it still doesn't compare to the time that I finally beat Vandal Hearts 2.

Sonic 2

You have to realize, for a game with no save feature and someone who had to turn off the console whenever they got off, this was a major deal for a little kid. Thank god sonic 3 introduced a save system...
